Manager Dusty Baker suggested that Alvarez will miss time after suffering an oblique injury in Thursday's game against the Blue Jays, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez left Thursday's game after feeling discomfort in his oblique while taking swings in the early innings. There hasn't been any further diagnosis, but after the game, Baker said, "We've just got to regroup and try to figure out how we're going to win some ballgames and get through this." Corey Julks and Chas McCormick figure to be the primary beneficiaries of Alvarez's absence.

Jimenez exited the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Yankees with an apparent leg injury, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Jimenez was running out a groundball in the ninth inning and grimaced upon reaching first base. Because it was so late in the game, the White Sox were unlikely to take any chances. He is considered day-to-day.

Alvarez exited Thursday's game against the Blue Jays with right oblique discomfort, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Alvarez was pulled from the game in the third inning after one plate appearance. He was serving as the designated hitter, so the issue presumably occurred during his lone plate appearance of the game. Corey Julks entered the game in his place.

Stanton went 0-for-3 with a walk in the first game of the doubleheader while serving as the designated hitter. Willie Calhoun will take over those duties, while Isiah Kiner-Falefa will enter the lineup to play center field and hit sixth.

Brantley (shoulder) hit in the cage, ran the bases and made throws Thursday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Brantley is checking all the boxes as he again pushes toward his 2023 debut. He was shut down in early May due to inflammation in his surgically-repaired right shoulder after going 6-for-24 (.250) in nine rehab games with Triple-A Sugar Land. The 36-year-old could soon begin a new minor-league rehab assignment if his side work continues to go smoothly.

Alvarez went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Alvarez took Chris Bassitt yard in the fourth inning to tally his 17th home run of the season and third in his last six starts. In addition to an impressive .968 OPS, Alvarez also leads the league in RBI with 55 across 56 games.

Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a double, two stolen bases and a walk in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Cubs.

Ohtani tried to manufacture a run in the fifth inning, but he was left on third base after a walk and two steals. He's knocked five extra-base hits, four RBI and four runs scored over his modest four-game hitting streak. Ohtani continues to be a reliable five-category producer at the plate, hitting .275 with 16 home runs, nine steals, 42 RBI and 37 runs scored through 61 games. He's added a .904 OPS, 11 doubles and three triples.

Ramirez is not in the starting lineup against the Twins on Wednesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
