Reed was recalled from Triple-A Fresno on Tuesday.

Reed has been on fire recently for Fresno, batting .447 with 11 runs and 14 RBI over his last 10 games, and he was rewarded with a promotion to the big leagues Tuesday. The six-foot-four, 275-pound first baseman has been an RBI machine in the minors and will now look to translate that production to the majors.

Ramirez was traded to the Blue Jays on Monday as part of the deal that sent Francisco Liriano to Toronto, Buster Olney of ESPN reports.

The 21-year-old was having a nice season at Double-A for the Pirates, hitting .306/.354/.401 in 379 at-bats. Ramirez will report to Double-A New Hampshire, where he should finish up the season.

Goins (forearm) was activated from the 15-day DL and will hit ninth in Monday's game against the Astros, Barry Davis of Sportsnet reports.

With Troy Tulowitzki day-to-day with a finger injury, Goins will get the start at shortstop in his first game since the end of June. He's hitting just .176 with three home runs and 12 RBI through 59 games for the Blue Jays this season. Ezequiel Carrera was placed on the 15-day DL with a left Achilles strain in a corresponding move.

Updating a previous note, Buxton (knee) is not in the Twins' lineup Monday against the Indians.

Buxton was initially listed in a lineup, but the Twins have since clarified that the speedy center fielder will get the day off Monday as he deals with soreness in his knee. Buxton underwent an MRI on Monday morning, which revealed only a minor bruise, so he'll join the team in Cleveland and could be available as a bench option. Eddie Rosario will get the nod in center field to start.

Buxton (knee) is in the lineup Monday against the Indians.

Buxton was lifted from Sunday's game in the third inning due to knee soreness, but the issue is not considered serious after an MRI on Monday morning cleared him of any structural damage. Buxton will man his usual center field spot Monday, and he'll bat eighth against Cleveland's Danny Salazar.

Cabrera went 3-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs in Sunday's 11-0 win over the Astros.

The future Hall of Famer is on another tear, hitting .429 (18-for-42) over the last 12 games with five home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs. Cabrera's now got 23 homers on the season to go along with his typically stellar .303/.381/.533 slash line. He may not quite be the dominant force he was a few years ago, when he posted back-to-back 44-homer campaigns, but the 33-year-old still appears to have plenty of juice left in the tank.

Vargas went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer and two walks Sunday against the White Sox.

Vargas' fourth homer of the year gave the Twins a 3-0 lead in the first inning that they'd never relinquish. He finished July on a high-note, collecting hits in seven straight games to raise his slash line to .333/.446/.683 in 60 at-bats on the season.

Buxton will remain in Minnesota on Monday so he can undergo an MRI on his sore right knee, MLB.com's Rhett Bollinger reports.

The team currently has an optimistic outlook about their young outfielder's ailment, but Buxton will undergo further tests nonetheless to ensure nothing more serious is hidden. As long as the results come back clean, which is the expected outcome, Buxton should be able to rejoin the team in Cleveland later in the week.

The Twins diagnosed Buxton with a sore right knee following his departure in the third inning of Sunday's game against the White Sox, LaVelle Neal of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Buxton is being labeled as day-to-day, and although his injury appears minor, it may be more of a setback for the outfielder than most players. He had already hurt the same knee twice in one week after banging into the outfield wall prior to the All-Star break, so the fact that the right knee is bothering him again just over two weeks later is somewhat discouraging. The Twins may be inclined to give Buxton a few days off to rest the injury, in which case Robbie Grossman, Danny Santana or Eddie Rosario, who replaced Buxton on Sunday, could see more action in center field.

Buxton appeared to tweak his leg while running the bases in Sunday's game against the White Sox. He was removed from the contest in the top of the third inning.

After walking during his lone plate appearance in the second inning, Buxton easily stole second base, but not before injuring himself in the process. Though he was initially able to stay in the game, he was clearly hobbled as he ran to third base on a ground ball and was replaced at the top half of the next inning by Eddie Rosario. The Twins should have a formal diagnosis of Buxton's condition after the game.
