  • Kyle Schwarber DH | PHI

Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Another two-homer game

Schwarber went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Twins.

Schwarber wasted no time making an impact in MLB's Field of Dreams game, leading off the night with a solo homer against Taj Bradley before taking the right-hander deep again for a two-run shot in the fourth inning. It marked his second multi-homer performance in his last five contests. After opening August in a 0-for-17 skid, Schwarber has quickly turned things around, going 11-for-30 (.367) with nine RBI over his last eight games. Through 117 contests this season, he's batting .250 with a .915 OPS and has slugged his way back atop the MLB leaderboard with 37 home runs.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Continues homer binge

Suarez went 1-for-3 with a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 9-8 win over the White Sox.

Suarez connected for a two-run home run in the first inning and later plated runs on a sacrifice fly and a hit-by-pitch. The home run was his fourth over his last six games. Suarez owns a .205/.285/.462 slash line with 18 home runs and 48 RBI through 89 games.

  • Jose Tena DH | WAS

    Nationals' Jose Tena: Taking seat

Tena is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Cubs.

The left-handed-hitting Tena typically plays against most right-handers, but he'll take a seat Thursday versus righty Kevin Gausman, who has reverse splits. Andres Chaparro will occupy the designated hitter slot for the Nationals.

  • Shohei Ohtani DH | LAD

Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Launches homer in win

Ohtani went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Royals.

Ohtani's third-inning blast was ultimately the difference in this game. The superstar has eight multi-hit efforts over his last 17 games, going 23-for-68 (.338) with five homers and 14 RBI in that span. Ohtani is now batting .292 with a .937 OPS, 27 long balls, 74 RBI, 77 runs scored, 23 doubles, two triples and seven stolen bases over 115 contests this season.

  • Jorge Polanco DH | NYM

    Mets' Jorge Polanco: Idle Wednesday

Polanco is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Atlanta.

Polanco will head to the bench after he went 1-for-6 with a walk while serving as the Mets' designated hitter in the first two contests of the series. Since coming off the 60-day injured list July 7, Polanco has yet to start more than two consecutive games and is slashing just .103/.153/.176 with a 30.1 percent strikeout rate.

  • Jose Tena DH | WAS

Nationals' Jose Tena: Withheld from lineup versus lefty

Tena is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

The Nationals will keep the left-handed-hitting Tena on the bench for the second day in a row while the Cubs send another lefty (David Peterson) to the hill. Daylen Lile will spell Ortiz at designated hitter and will bat eighth.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Resting up Wednesday

Yelich is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

The Brewers and Padres are closing out their series with a day game after a night game, and a lefty (Robbie Ray) is on the hill for San Diego, so the left-handed-hitting Yelich will unsurprisingly receive the afternoon off. William Contreras will get a day off from catching but will stick in the lineup in Yelich's usual spot at designated hitter.

  • Lars Nootbaar DH | ARI

Diamondbacks' Lars Nootbaar: Bats leadoff Tuesday

Nootbaar batted leadoff and went 0-for-3 in Tuesday's 3-2 loss Colorado.

Nootbaar filled in at leadoff for the injured Geraldo Perdomo (knee), whose injury does not sound serious, per comments from manager Torey Lovullo in a report from Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports. Since joining the Diamondbacks at the trade deadline, Nootbaar is 3-for-23 (.130) with five walks, one double, one RBI and two runs scored over seven games.

  • Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Mashes homer in win

Eldridge went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Astros.

Eldridge took Hunter Brown deep in the fifth inning to put the Giants up 3-1. After dealing with a bruised thumb earlier in the month, Eldridge has struggled a bit, going just 4-for-24 (.167) over his last six games, though two of those knocks have gone for extra bases. On the year, the 21-year-old is batting. 248 with a .775 OPS, 12 homers, 29 RBI, 38 runs scored, 15 doubles and one stolen base over 77 contests.

  • Eugenio Suarez DH | CIN

Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Goes deep in win

Suarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double in Tuesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over the White Sox.

Suarez was the only Reds hitter who had Sean Burke's number, launching a solo shot in the fifth inning before adding a double in the seventh. The 35-year-old has now hit safely in six of eight August contests, tallying six extra-base hits and five RBI during that stretch. On the year, he's slashing .206/.286/.416 with 17 homers, 44 RBI and 30 runs scored across 346 plate appearances.
