  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Back in lineup

Schwarber (back) will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter and bat second Thursday against the Nationals. Schwarber missed back-to-back starts while dealing with lower-back tightness, but he was able to enter Wednesday's contest as a pinch hitter and drew a walk during his lone plate appearance. Now healthy enough to start, he'll look to remain hot after slashing .306/.425/.597 with seven homers through 20 games in June.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Walks as pinch hitter

Schwarber (back) walked in his lone plate appearance during Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Nationals. The All-Star slugger was out of the lineup for Philadelphia's past two games while tending to lower-back tightness, but he entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and drew a clutch walk to set up Derek Hill's go-ahead two-run home run in the ninth inning. After coming off the bench, Schwarber appears to have a good chance of returning to the lineup for Thursday's series finale in Washington.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Sitting out again Wednesday

Schwarber (back) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals. A late scratch ahead of Tuesday's 14-9 win due to lower-back tightness, Schwarber will wind up missing out on a second straight start while he tends to the injury. With Schwarber on the bench, the Nationals will give Bryce Harper a day off from playing first base but keep his bat in the lineup at designated hitter. Schwarber doesn't appear at major risk of landing on the injured list, with interim manager Don Mattingly telling Matt Gelb of The Athletic that the 33-year-old is showing improvement and could be back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale in Washington.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Scratched with back tightness

Schwarber was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's game against Washington due to lower-back tightness, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Schwarber's back will keep him on the bench to begin Tuesday's contest, and it remains unknown whether he'll have to miss additional games as well. Edmundo Sosa will fill in as the Phillies' designated hitter and bat eighth.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Blasts 29th homer

Schwarber went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Mets. After swatting three homers in Saturday's blowout win, Schwarber went deep again with a towering three-run homer in the second inning. The slugger has historically done some of his best work in June, and 2026 has been no exception, as he's slashing .324/.439/.632 with seven homers, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored across 18 games this month. Overall, the 33-year-old is hitting .255/.369/.603 with 52 RBI, 51 runs scored and a league-leading 29 homers in 74 contests.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Three-homer effort in rout

Schwarber went 4-for-5 with three home runs, six RBI and an additional run scored in Saturday's 15-3 win over the Mets. Per Paul Casella of MLB.com, Schwarber became the only player in the Statcast era to hit multiple 450-foot homers in the same inning, doing so in the third. He then followed it up with a two-run shot in the seventh, marking the fifth three-homer game of his career. The veteran slugger has hit safely in eight of his past nine contests, going deep five times with nine RBI and nine runs scored during that stretch. On the year, he's slashing .254/.368/.595 with a major-league-leading 28 long balls, 49 RBI, 49 runs scored and one steal across 329 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: First to reach 25 homers in 2026

Schwarber went 1-for-2 with a solo home run, two walks and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 8-2 win over the Marlins. With Tuesday's solo shot, Schwarber became the first player in the major leagues this season to slug 25 home runs. The All-Star slugger also started at first base, marking just his second appearance at the position this year and his first since 2021 with the Red Sox. Schwarber is batting .249 with 35 extra-base hits, 43 RBI, 46 walks and 44 runs scored across 315 plate appearances in 2026.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Four hits in Friday's win

Schwarber went 4-for-5 with two runs scored in Friday's 8-6 win over the White Sox. It was the ninth career game with at least four hits for the veteran slugger, but his first with zero extra-base hits. Schwarber is locked in at the plate right now, slashing .357/.438/.595 over the last 11 games with three homers, four RBI and six runs, and he still leads the majors with 23 homers in 60 contests.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Clubs homer Friday

Schwarber went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Dodgers. Schwarber's blast got the Phillies on the board in the sixth inning, but it didn't turn into a comeback rally. He continues to lead the majors with 22 homers, and he has two long balls over seven games since he recovered from an illness. The veteran slugger is batting .238 with a .963 OPS, 39 RBI, 36 runs scored and a stolen base across 54 contests this season.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Drives 21st homer

Schwarber went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Monday's victory over San Diego. Schwarber added to his MLB-leading home run total by launching a Griffin Canning changeup over the right-field wall for a solo shot in the first inning. The veteran slugger has been on an outrageous tear of late, crushing 10 homers across his past 14 games and showing little sign of slowing down. Overall, Schwarber is slashing .233/.354/.617 with 21 homers, 37 RBI, 35 runs and a stolen base across 51 contests.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Returning after three-game absence

Schwarber (illness) will start at designated hitter and bat second in Friday's game against the Guardians. Schwarber missed all three games of this week's series against the Reds while battling a stomach bug, but he's well enough to give it a go in Friday's series opener versus Cleveland. The slugger leads all of baseball with 20 home runs this season.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Out for third straight game

Schwarber (illness) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Reds, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Unless the Phillies turn to him off the bench for a pinch-hitting appearance Wednesday, Schwarber will wind up missing the entire three-game series against Cincinnati after coming down with a stomach ailment Monday. With a team off day on tap Thursday, Schwarber should have a good chance at returning to the lineup in the Phillies' series opener versus the Guardians on Friday. Before falling ill, Schwarber had been in the midst of an impressive power binge, slugging nine home runs over his last 10 starts.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Out again with illness

Schwarber (illness) remains out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Reds. Schwarber is under the weather and will miss a second consecutive start. He's considered day-to-day, but with an afternoon game Wednesday and a team off day Thursday, the Phillies might elect to hold Schwarber out until Friday versus the Guardians just to be safe. Trea Turner is getting a start at designated hitter Tuesday, and Edmundo Sosa is covering shortstop.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Contending with illness

Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly said that Schwarber is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds due to an illness, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. Though Schwarber was probably due for a breather sooner or later after starting in each of the Phillies' 47 games of the season, his absence from the lineup isn't a planned rest day. At the same time, Mattingly didn't indicate that Schwarber's illness is an overly serious concern, so the slugger could be available to pitch hit Monday and potentially return to the lineup Tuesday. Bryce Harper will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter Monday in place of Schwarber.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Receiving first day off of 2026

Schwarber is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds. The Phillies haven't indicated that Schwarber is dealing with any sort of injury or illness coming out of their series in Pittsburgh over the weekend, so the slugger is presumably just getting a well-overdue day off while the Reds send lefty Nick Lodolo to the hill for the series opener. With Schwarber hitting the bench for the first time in 2026 starting in each of the Phillies' first 47 games, Bryce Harper will get a day off from playing first base and will occupy the designated-hitter spot.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: First to reach 20 homers

Schwarber went 3-for-5 with a walk, two home runs and five RBI in Friday's 11-9 extra-inning win over the Pirates. The red-hot slugger launched two-run homers off Braxton Ashcraft in the fifth inning and Mason Montgomery in the seventh before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the ninth, fueling a Phillies rally from an early 6-0 deficit. Schwarber is the first player in the majors this season to hit 20 home runs, and he put his name in the record books alongside some very notable peers -- per Bill Ladson of MLB.com, Schwarber is the second player in Phillies history to launch nine or more long balls in an eight-game span, joining Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt, and Schwarber's the second player in history to have multiple such power surges in his career after Albert Belle. During his current eight-game heater, Schwarber's batting .353 (12-for-34) with nine homers and 15 RBI.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Homers again vs. Boston

Schwarber went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Red Sox. After both starting pitchers dominated to begin the night, Schwarber finally broke a scoreless tie in the eighth inning by taking Tyler Samaniego deep. The blast was Schwarber's MLB-leading 18th of the season, including seven in the last seven games. He continues to be one of baseball's premier power bats with a .965 OPS, and he's already compiled 1.5 WAR despite serving primarily as a designated hitter. Since 2022, the veteran slugger has hit at least 38 home runs every season, and he appears well on his way to reaching that mark again. Schwarber is slashing .226/.355/.610 with seven doubles, 30 RBI and 30 runs scored across 197 plate appearances.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Belts 12th long ball

Schwarber went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Athletics on Thursday. Schwarber provided Philadelphia's only run -- and lone extra-base hit -- with a solo blast to right field in the fourth inning. The long ball was the veteran slugger's first in May and at least temporarily halted a cold stretch to begin the month during which he went 3-for-24 with 12 punchouts. Schwarber's 30.7 percent strikeout rate on the campaign is on pace for his worst mark since 2017, and he's batting only .216, but he's continued to be a big power threat with 12 home runs -- tied for fourth most in the majors.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Reaches eight times in doubleheader

Schwarber went 5-for-6 with two home runs, two doubles, three walks, three total runs and three total RBI across both games of Thursday's doubleheader sweep of the Giants. Schwarber foreshadowed his impressive day at the plate with a solo home run in his first plate appearance during Game 1. He reached two more times (via walks) in that contest, then exploded for four hits (including another solo homer and two doubles) in the nightcap. Altogether, Schwarber reached base eight times in nine plate appearances during the twin bill, and he pushed his season batting average up from .190 all the way to .225. Schwarber has been plenty productive despite the tepid batting average, swatting 11 homers (fourth most in MLB) with 20 RBI and 21 runs. He's also drawn at least one walk in six straight games and is tied for eighth in the majors by taking 24 free passes on the campaign.

  • Phillies' Kyle Schwarber: Smashes ninth homer Sunday

Schwarber went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Sunday's 6-2 loss to Atlanta. Schwarber clubbed homer No. 9 on Sunday, taking Atlanta southpaw Aaron Bummer deep in the eighth inning. The All-Star slugger has just three multi-hit games and zero stolen bases through 28 contests, hurting fantasy managers in batting average and steals, but he continues to deliver in the power department. Schwarber is batting only .196, but he does have 14 extra-base hits, 17 RBI, 19 walks and 17 runs scored over 102 at-bats.
