    Dodgers' Justin Turner: Sitting Tuesday

Turner isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Padres, Alanna Rizzo of Spectrum SportsNet LA reports.

Turner was handed a one-game suspension after making contact with an umpire during Monday's matchup, though he'll remain eligible until his appeal is heard. Despite this, the Dodgers have elected to sit him down for the second game of the series. Max Muncy will shift over to the hot corner and bat second.

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Slapped with one-game ban

Turner was handed a one-game suspension for making contact with an umpire during Monday's game against the Padres, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Turner was unhappy with a call that ended the game, and he made contact with the home-plate umpire while pleading his case. The third baseman is set to appeal the suspension and will be eligible to play until a decision on his appeal is made.

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Stays hot with three-hit game

Turner went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and two RBI in the Dodgers' 4-3 loss to the Padres on Monday.

Turner's torrid month of August continued with this three-hit day that included his 24th long ball of the season, which he launched in the third inning off Eric Lauer. The 34-year-old veteran has ripped off nine multi-hit games and cranked seven homers since the calendar flipped from July, boosting his slash line up to a healthy .294/.376/.513 across 435 at-bats for the season.

  • Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT

Cardinals' Marcell Ozuna: Drives in three runs

Ozuna went 2-for-5 with a three-run double and two runs scored in Monday's 12-2 win over Milwaukee.

Ozuna knocked a bases-clearing double off starter Gio Gonzalez as part of a huge six-run inning for St. Louis. He's racked up 15 RBI this month, including 10 in his last five games, bringing him to 77 on the year with a .873 OPS.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Sitting against another lefty

Dickerson isn't in Monday's starting lineup against the Diamondbacks, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Dickerson will head to the bench with a southpaw in Alex Young slated to toe the rubber for the opposition. Abiatal Avelino is set to man left field and bat sixth with Dickerson out of the mix.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Sitting vs. southpaw

Pederson is not in the lineup Monday against the Padres.

As per usual, Pederson will hit the bench with a left-hander (Eric Lauer) starting for the Padres. Enrique Hernandez is starting in right field and hitting eighth in his place in this one.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Back from paternity leave

Harper was reinstated from the paternity list Monday.

Harper missed the Phillies' weekend series in Miami to be with his wife and newborn son. He'll return and hope to build on his .298/.385/.737 line over his last 15 games as the Phillies continue to fight for a playoff berth. Maikel Franco was sent to the minors in a corresponding move.

  • Bryce Harper DH | PHI

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Expected back Monday

Harper (personal) is expected to be reinstated from the paternity list ahead of Monday's series opener versus the Pirates, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Harper missed all three of the Phillies' games in Miami over the weekend while awaiting the birth of his son, Krew. With the Phillies in the thick of a tight wild-card race, expect the superstar to immediately re-enter the starting nine upon rejoining the team Monday. Harper's return will likely result in Scott Kingery moving back to third base on a full-time basis, leaving fewer at-bats to go around for Brad Miller and Maikel Franco.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Slugs leadoff homer

Pederson went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.

Pederson crushed Domingo German's first pitch of the game 420 feet to right field, producing the only Dodgers run in the affair. The 27-year-old has tallied 82 hits this season, with 39 going for extra bases, including 26 long balls. He continues to play almost exclusively against right-handed pitchers while sitting against southpaws, against whom he has hit only .175 (7-for-40) with no home runs this season.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Homers, scores three times

Carpenter went 3-for-4 with a homer, three runs scored, two RBI and a walk in Sunday's 11-4 win over Colorado.

It was Carpenter's second multi-hit game of the month and he's still hitting just 12-for-51 (.235) with four extra-base hits in August. His current .703 OPS is the lowest of his career, and he could miss the 20-homer mark for the first time since 2014.
