Phillies' Bryce Harper: Smacks ninth homer

Harper went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI on Sunday against the Rockies.

Harper recorded his first RBI by grounding out with the bases loaded in the second inning. However, the highlight of his afternoon came on a two-run homer in the sixth inning that broke a 5-5 tie. It was his ninth home run of the season and second in as many days. While he hadn't gone yard in nine contests prior to Saturday's blast, Harper has still maintained a strong .235/.371/.476 line across 202 plate appearances.

  • Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Hits 10th homer

Blackmon went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs in a 7-5 loss for the Rockies against the Phillies on Sunday.

That's now 10 long balls on the season for the hot-hitting outfielder, who led off the game for Colorado with a blast off Jerad Eickhoff. The 32-year-old is now slashing .294/.354/.567 through 187 at-bats.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Not starting Sunday

Belt is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Arizona, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Belt missed a few games early in the week as he was dealing with knee discomfort, but this just appears to be a maintenance day for the 31-year-old. Tyler Austin will start at first base and bat third Sunday for the Giants.

  • Franmil Reyes DH | WAS

Padres' Franmil Reyes: Takes seat Sunday

Reyes is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Pirates.

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Day off Sunday

Carpenter is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Carpenter has started 18 of the last 19 games but will head to the bench for Sunday's series finale at Texas. The 33-year-old is slashing .212/.307/.348 over 17 games in May. Harrison Bader will enter the leadoff spot and man center field while Jedd Gyorko starts at third base and bats eighth.

  • Matt Carpenter DH | STL

Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Narrowly misses homer in win

Carpenter went 2-for-5 with an RBI ground-rule double and a run in a win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Carpenter's fifth-inning blast, which hit the top of the 14-foot wall in left field at Globe Life Park, was originally ruled a home run. However replay review ultimately rendered it Carpenter's eighth two-bagger of the season instead, but it still served to jump-start an impressive four-run inning for the Cardinals. The veteran is still hitting just .212 in May, but he's now reached safely in six straight games while rattling off three extra-base hits (two doubles, one homer) during that stretch.

  • Harold Ramirez DH | WAS

Marlins' Harold Ramirez: Not starting Sunday

Ramirez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Returns to action Sunday

Turner (lower leg) is starting at third base and batting third Sunday at Cincinnati, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Turner sustained a left shin contusion Friday after fouling a ball off his leg and was unable to start Saturday, though he did make a pinch-hit appearance. The 34-year-old will look to get back on track as he is without a hit since last Saturday.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Swats solo shot

Belt went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in an 8-5 win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Reds' Jesse Winker: Hits 10th homer

Winker went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 4-0 victory over the Dodgers on Saturday.

Overall, the 25-year-old has produced strong power numbers, but this was his first extra-base hit since May 5. Winker hasn't recorded multiple hits in any of his last 10 games, and since then, his average has dropped 22 points. Winker is hitting .221 with 10 home runs, 16 RBI and 22 runs in 140 at-bats this season.
