Pederson is not starting Thursday against the Mariners.

Pederson will head to the bench for Thursday's series finale with left-hander Yusei Kikuchi on the mound for Seattle. A.J. Pollock is covering left field in his absence, with Matt Beaty serving as DH.

Martinez (illness) is starting Thursday's game against the Orioles.

Martinez left Tuesday's game due to dehydration and was kept out Wednesday, but he'll be back in action for the series opener in Baltimore. Martinez is slashing .244/.330/.419 with two home runs, 12 RBI and 24 strikeouts to begin the season.

Miller went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and two walks while playing in both games of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

The Cardinals' extensive list of absent players due to the team's recent COVID-19 outbreak has afforded the versatile Miller an abundance of playing time since St. Louis resumed play Saturday. The veteran has made excellent use of the opportunity, hitting .438 (7-for-16) with a pair of home runs and nine RBI while logging at least one official at-bat in each of the eight games during that span. Miller started at third base in Game 1 on Wednesday before filling in at shortstop for the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Ford is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

Though the Yankees' designated hitter spot remains open with Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) on the injured list, Ford hasn't been able to lock down a full-time role, as manager Aaron Boone has instead opted for a rotation of players at the position. Ford will be on the bench for the third time in four games while Aaron Hicks gets a turn at DH.

Choi is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Choi and fellow lefty hitters Yoshi Tsutsugo, Brandon Lowe and Kevin Kiermaier will bow out of the starting nine while the Yankees bring southpaw James Paxton to the hill in the series finale. Mike Brosseau will fill in for Choi at first base and bat leadoff for the Rays.

Canha went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and a walk in Wednesday's win over Arizona.

Canha notched his third long ball of the season and has been seeing the ball well of late, hitting safely in nine of Oakland's last 11 games, a span in which he has hit .333 with two homers and a .980 OPS. However, he has also struck out in 30.6 percent of his at-bats during that stretch, meaning he's essentially a boom-or-bust hitter. The 31-year-old slugger is hitting .274 this season and, if the season ended today, that would be a career-best mark for him.

Pederson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run during Wednesday's loss to Seattle.

Pederson provided the Dodgers with their first lead of the game by launching a solo homer off Taijuan Walker in the second inning. Unfortunately, Los Angeles fell short this time. Across 67 at-bats this season, the 28-year-old is batting a mere .164/.263/.343 with four home runs.

Carpenter went 2-for-7 with a grand slam during Wednesday's doubleheader against the Cubs.

The 34-year-old started the twin bill off strong with the 410-foot grand slam during the first inning of the matinee, and he was thrown out at second base during the nightcap while attempting to stretch a single into a double. Carpenter has a .238/.304/.357 slash line with one homer, 11 RBI and 13 strikeouts through 46 plate appearances this season.

Choi went 1-for-2 with a walk and a solo home run Wednesday against the Yankees.

Choi took Gerrit Cole deep in the second inning to record the Rays' first run of the contest. He now has two homers on the season, but it was his first since July 26. While likely a coincidence that he went deep the same day, Choi announced Wednesday that he was ending his experiment as a switch-hitter, because he believed it had disrupted his swing from his natural left side. Considering he is hitting just .179/.282/.368 across 78 plate appearances, there's certainly a possibility that Choi was out out of sync due to hitting from both sides of the dish.

Winker went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a 5-0 win over the Royal's in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

Winker made sure the Reds would avoid getting shut out in both halves of the doubleheader with his long ball in the third inning. The 27-year-old is up to six homers this season, all of which have come in his last seven games. Winker has added 10 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base in 22 contests overall.
