Choi received stitches around his left ear and is dealing with concussion-like symptoms after exiting Tuesday's game.

Choi collided with Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez at home plate and left the field with blood coming down the left side of his face. The 27-year-old should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated.

Choi exited Tuesday's game after colliding with Yankees' catcher Gary Sanchez at home plate, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

Choi was thrown out attempting to score from first base on Brandon Lowe's double during the third inning, and left the field with his head bleeding after the collision with Sanchez. Jake Bauers took over at first base for the Rays.

Ohtani will undergo Tommy John surgery next week, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Angels will let Ohtani play out the season before sending him to Dr. Neal ElAttrache for the procedure. While the surgery will prevent Ohtani from pitching in 2019, he's expected to be able to hit during the season while his elbow recovers. More should be known after he goes under the knife. Ohtani is hitting .280/.361/.564 with 21 homers and nine stolen bases through 99 games this season, and he posted a 3.31 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 63:22 K:BB prior to suffering the injury.

Harper went 1-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's win over the Marlins.

That gives the 25-year-old 100 RBI on the season, the first time he's reached that mark in his career in what seems like his last season as a Nat. Harper's .245 batting average on the year is disappointing, but he's already set a new career high with 126 walks, and he's one run shy of 100 for the season to go along with 34 homers and 12 steals.

Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Brewers on Monday.

Ozuna gave the Cardinals a temporary 4-3 lead via his 414-foot shot to center with Paul DeJong aboard in the sixth. The slugging outfielder has now gone deep on seven occasions in September, easily his best figure in a full month this season. Ozuna's struggles with the long ball earlier in 2018 appear to have primarily been a result of his shoulder impingement, as the aforementioned power surge has come subsequent to a stint on the disabled list to address the issue.

Ohtani went 1-for-5 with a solo home run Monday against the Rangers.

Ohtani took Adrian Sampson deep in the first inning to record his 21st homer of the season. He continues to prove he can produce at the plate, smacking his sixth long ball of the month while also reaching base at a .389 clip in that span. It's been an impressive rookie campaign for Ohtani at the plate, even without considering what he accomplished on the mound prior to his injury (elbow).

Reyes went 2-for-4 with two RBI on Monday against the Giants.

Reyes drove an RBI-single to right field in the third inning and later had a productive groundout to drive in his second run of the game. He's slowed down from a power perspective as he has only one extra-base hit across his last 10 games. However, he has remained productive, going 13-for-37 with five runs scored and five RBI in that span.

Pederson is not in the lineup Monday against the Diamondbacks, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

As per usual, Pederson will head to the bench for Monday's series opener with a southpaw in Robbie Ray toeing the rubber for the Diamondbacks. Chris Taylor will start in left field and leadoff in Pederson's place.

Brantley is not in the starting lineup Monday against the White Sox.

Brantley will sit after starting six straight games. Brandon Guyer will get the start in left field in his absence.

Choi (knee) is back in the lineup Monday against the Yankees.

Choi left Friday's game with knee soreness and was on the bench for the next two contests. He'll return Monday, acting as the designated hitter as usual and batting third.
