Ramirez will serve as the Nationals' designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Ramirez will draw his second consecutive start at designated hitter and should see an uptick in playing time after Jesse Winker was traded to the Mets on Saturday and Lane Thomas was shipped to the Guardians on Monday. Since signing with Washington in mid-June and getting called up to the big club, Ramirez is slashing .319/.333/.468 with one home run and 13 RBI in 16 games.

Pederson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals.

The lefty-hitting Pederson will retreat to the bench while the Nationals send southpaw Mitchell Parker to the hill. Randal Grichuk will serve as the Diamondbacks' designated hitter while Pederson takes a seat.

Larnach is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Mets.

With the Mets bringing southpaw Jose Quintana to the hill, the lefty-hitting Larnach will retreat to the bench. Austin Martin will replace Larnach as the Twins' starting left fielder.

McCutchen isn't in the starting lineup for the Pirates' series opener against the Astros on Monday.

McCutchen will retreat to the bench Monday while Joey Bart serves as the designated hitter and bats fifth against Houston right-hander Jake Bloss. McCutchen has been in the midst of quiet July, having slashed .197/.307/.355 with two home runs and four RBI across 80 plate appearances on the month.

Grossman is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Grossman had started in three of the Rangers' last four games and has an active five-game hitting streak going, but his playing time is expected to become more sparse moving forward. Josh Jung (wrist) was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Monday, and he and Josh Smith could end up serving as the Rangers' primary options at designated hitter moving forward while the other player makes starts at third base. Grossman remains an option in left field and right field, but Wyatt Langford and Adolis Garcia look to be manager Bruce Bochy's preferred starters at those two respective positions.

The Mariners acquired Turner from the Blue Jays on Monday in exchange for outfielder RJ Schreck, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Turner was mysteriously pulled from the first game of Monday's doubleheader in Baltimore after just one plate appearance, and the trade with the Mariners ending up being the reasoning behind his early exit. The 39-year-old will give Seattle an everyday option at first base and/or designated hitter, and while he's struggled to a .257/.351/.373 slash line for the season as a member of the Blue Jays, he should still help upgrade a slumping lineup. Seattle will absorb the $4.3 million remaining on Turner's $13 million salary for 2024, per Daniel Kramer of MLB.com.

Madris will start at first base and bat fifth in Monday's game against the Guardians.

He'll be included in the lineup for a fifth straight contest after going 6-for-14 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI over the prior four games. The Tigers may not have an everyday role available for Madris once the likes of Parker Meadows (hamstring) and Riley Greene (hamstring) return from the 10-day injured list, though Detroit could find ways to get Madris' bat in the lineup so long as he's running hot at the dish.

The Yankees activated Stanton (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Monday, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Stanton will skip a rehab assignment and go right back onto the active roster after missing the past month with a strained left hamstring. While Stanton should soak up most of the starts at designated hitter, the Yankees could also use Aaron Judge at that spot on some days while the newly acquired Jazz Chisholm plays the outfield.

Ohtani went 0-for-4 with a walk, a run and a stolen base in Sunday's 6-2 win against the Astros.

Though Ohtani had a three-game multi-hit streak snapped, he extended his streak of contests with a stolen base to three. The slugger has elevated his acumen on the basepaths to even greater heights this season, as he's already set a career high with 27 steals while getting caught just four times. Of course, Ohtani has excelled in other ways as well, slashing .314/.404/.639 with 32 home runs, 76 RBI and 82 runs in what has been an MVP-caliber campaign so far.

Soler went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Rockies.

Soler posted a trio of three-hit games during this weekend's four-game series versus the Rockies, going 9-for-15 with four RBI and three walks in that span. The slugger has batted .359 (14-for-39) over 11 contests since the All-Star break, though it helps that the Giants have faced the Rockies in seven of those games. For the season, he's up to a .240/.330/.419 slash line through 93 contests.
