Winker (ribs) is still a week away from beginning a rehab assignment, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Winker has been out since mid-August with an intercostal strain. He recently resumed baseball activities but needs some time before he's ready for game action. The stated timeline should still give him a chance to return from the injured list in mid-September.

Charlie Blackmon RF | COL
Rockies' Charlie Blackmon: Belts grand slam
Blackmon went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Thursday's loss against Atlanta.
Blackmon entered this game in a 2-for-24 slump but snapped that drought in style with a bases-loaded blast in the fifth inning. The veteran outfielder has been struggling in recent weeks and his overall season numbers have gone south compared to recent years. He only has 11 homers while hitting .267 -- a figure that ranks as the worst of his career excluding the year in which he debuted (2011).

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Braves' Joc Pederson: Held out Thursday
Pederson is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rockies.
Pederson went 2-for-19 (.105) at the plate over his last 10 games, so he will get a chance to clear his head. Adam Duvall will man center field for Atlanta on Thursday.

Mark Canha LF | TEX
Athletics' Mark Canha: Homers in win
Canha went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, two walks and another run scored during Thursday's win over the Tigers.
Since losing his leadoff spot in the batting order Friday, Canha has begun heating up, collecting six hits in consecutive games, including two homers in that span. The 32-year-old was hitting sixth this time around. Overall this season, Canha has 14 homers to his name along with a .236/.363/.402 slash line.

Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Giants' Alex Dickerson: On bench against southpaw
Dickerson isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Brewers, Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic reports.
Dickerson will be out of the lineup for a second straight game with left-hander Eric Lauer on the mound for Milwaukee. Darin Ruf will start in left field and bat fourth.

Brad Miller DH | SD
Phillies' Brad Miller: Not starting Thursday
Miller is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Nationals.
Miller should see plenty of time at first base down the stretch with Rhys Hoskins (abdomen) shut down for the year. He won't be in the lineup everyday, however, as catcher J.T. Realmuto is expected to start there regularly as well. Realmuto has been battling ankle and shoulder issues in recent days but will be the first baseman Thursday, pushing Miller to the bench.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: On bench Thursday
Cabrera isn't starting Thursday's game against the Athletics.
Cabrera went 2-for-4 with three RBI while blasting his 15th home run of the season Wednesday. Jeimer Candelario will serve as the designated hitter while Harold Castro enters the lineup at third base.

Miguel Cabrera DH | DET
Tigers' Miguel Cabrera: Launches 15th home run
Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three total RBI in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.
Cabrera hit his milestone 500th career home run Aug. 22 but is still looking to finish his 17th MLB season with a few more long balls. The veteran is up to 15 for the season and 502 in his career. Cabrera can now set his sights on moving up the list of career home-run leaders, as he's sitting in 28th place but is just two behind Eddie Murray in 27th. The Tigers figure to keep giving the 38-year-old opportunities to chase history down the stretch.
