Lakins (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment at the Orioles' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate Saturday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Lakins has been sidelined with right elbow inflammation since May 20, and he suffered a setback in his recovery shortly before the All-Star break. However, he's trending in the right direction once again and will return to game action in the minors this weekend. The right-hander will likely require multiple rehab appearances prior to rejoining the Orioles, but he should be in the mix to return in late August or early September.

Wells (elbow) had his rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Norfolk on Friday, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Wells' rehab assignment was transferred to Double-A Bowie last week, and he struck out two in 2.2 scoreless innings Sunday. It's not yet clear how many more rehab appearances the southpaw will require, but he seems to be closing in on his return.

Winckowski was optioned to Triple-A Worcester after Thursday's loss, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

Winckowski returned to Triple-A after he gave up six runs on seven hits and a walk over five innings against the Pirates on Thursday. The right-hander owns a 5.19 ERA and 1.50 WHIP with 36 strikeouts over 60.2 innings in 12 starts for the Red Sox this year. The transaction opens a roster spot for Matt Strahm (wrist), who's expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Friday.

Honeywell (elbow) is slated to pitch two innings for Single-A Stockton on Friday and shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Las Vegas next week if all goes well, the team's official site reports.

The talented but oft-injured right-hander was solid over a 14-pitch inning in his rehab debut with the Ports on Tuesday, and he'll now have a chance to bump up his workload Friday. Honeywell will face a good litmus test once he shifts to the Pacific Coast League for the next phase of his rehab assignment, given the hitter-friendly conditions in that circuit.

Patino was optioned to Triple-A Durham on Friday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Patino will return to Durham after being called up to start Thursday versus the Royals. The right-hander tossed 5.2 scoreless innings, surrendering four hits and two walks while striking out four on his way to a win. Kevin Herget will replace him on the major-league roster and is set to make his MLB debut as a 31-year-old. Patino will remain a top candidate for a call-up down the stretch.

Logue (3-7) took the loss Thursday, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over 4.1 innings against the Rangers. He struck out two.

Logue made a second consecutive start in place of Adrian Martinez, who was demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas last week, but he struggled once again. Over his last two starts, the left-hander has surrendered 14 hits, 13 earned runs and five walks across 9.2 innings. It's unclear if he'll get another shot in the rotation.

Santana (ankle) allowed two hits and one walk while striking out two over 1.2 scoreless innings for Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.

Santana kicked off his rehab assignment with the Express on Thursday. He's been a consistent arm out of the Rangers' bullpen for much of the season until a rocky nine-outing stretch (18.90 ERA) prior to landing on the injured list earlier this month.

Castillo (0-1) took the loss against Tampa Bay on Thursday, pitching five innings and allowing one run on three hits and one walk while striking out three batters.

Castillo was sent to the minors after the Royals acquired him in a trade with Toronto on Aug. 2, but he made only two starts before Kansas City called him up. Though he took the loss Thursday, the right-hander pitched well, throwing 48 of 69 pitches for strikes and keeping the Rays off the scoreboard after Yandy Diaz tagged him for a leadoff homer in the first inning. Given his success in the outing, Castillo will likely get more turns in the rotation for a Kansas City team that is already looking ahead to next season.

Patino (1-1) earned the win over Kansas City on Thursday, allowing four hits and two walks while striking out four batters over 5.2 scoreless innings.

Patino was called up from the minors earlier in the day and impressed in his first big-league start in nearly a month. The right-hander fanned only four batters but racked up 16 swinging strikes among his 86 pitches. He didn't surrender any extra-base hits and allowed only one runner to reach second base. The Rays are in the midst of a busy schedule, so Patino could take another turn in the rotation after his strong outing Thursday.

Winckowski (5-6) took the loss Thursday in Pittsburgh, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out two in five innings.

Winckowski took Nathan Eovaldi's (neck/shoulder) spot in the rotation Thursday and was greeted with a two-run blast by Bryan Reynolds in the first. Pittsburgh tacked on two more runs in the third and Reynolds tagged Winckowski with another two-run shot in the fifth. In five starts since the All-Star break, the 24-year-old has a 6.46 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, six homers allowed and a 10:7 K:BB in 23.2 innings. He's punched out two or fewer batters in five of his last seven starts.
