Emilio Pagan RP | CIN
Twins' Emilio Pagan: Suffers first blown save of 2022
Pagan blew a save opportunity after he pitched two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run on a hit and two walks while striking out one in Tuesday's win over the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.
After Caleb Thielbar allowed two Tigers to reach base in the top of the eighth inning, Pagan was called upon to protect the Twins' 3-1 lead with one out in the frame. He proceeded to give up a three-run homer to Javier Baez, the first batter he faced, and walked two more batters before the inning was over. The blown save was Pagan's first of the season and he is now 2-for-3 in save opportunities.

Gregory Soto RP | PIT
Tigers' Gregory Soto: Blows first save
Soto (1-1) allowed two runs (none earned) on a hit, two walks and a wild pitch in Tuesday's loss to the Twins. He retired one batter via strikeout.
Soto didn't help his cause with the walks or the wild pitch, but the game ended on a two-run throwing error by catcher Eric Haase, giving the Twins a wild 5-4 win and the lefty his first blown save of the year. Despite the setback, Soto has been pretty good this season with three saves in four chances to go with a 1.50 ERA. He should retain a decent hold on closing duties in Detroit, with righty Michael Fulmer also available for certain matchups.

Josh Fleming RP | TOR
Rays' Josh Fleming: Tagged for seven unearned runs
Fleming (2-2) received the loss after allowing seven runs (none earned) on four hits, a walk and a hit batsman in two innings of an 8-4 defeat Tuesday against Seattle.
For the second time this season, Fleming served as the primary pitcher after Matt Wisler opened the game. The lefty Fleming entered the game to begin the third inning and retired all three batters via groundouts. The wheels came off in the fourth inning as Fleming was hit hard and Tampa Bay committed costly errors on consecutive plays, leading to seven unearned runs. All in all, he faced 11 batters and needed 44 pitches to complete the frame. While some of the issues Tuesday could be pinned on the Rays' defense, Fleming has struggled this season, allowing 18 hits in 12 innings.

Seth Martinez RP | BOS
Astros' Seth Martinez: Recalled from Triple-A
Martinez was recalled from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Martinez was unable to crack Houston's Opening Day roster but will now join the big club a few weeks into the season. He made his MLB debut with three appearances last year and had a strong campaign at Sugar Land with a 2.81 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 78:20 K:BB over 57.2 innings.

Simeon Woods Richardson RP | TOR
Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Dominant at Double-A
Richardson has allowed one unearned run in 16.2 innings in three starts for Double-A Wichita with a 14:4 K:BB.
Richardson had a 5.76 ERA with a troubling 5.2 BB/9 at Double-A New Hampshire before his trade to Minnesota from Toronto last season. He threw just eight innings for Wichita after the trade as he spent time on the U.S. Olympic team. It's just three starts, but his improved control is an encouraging sign.

Alex Wells RP | BAL
Orioles' Alexander Wells: Moves up to big leagues
The Orioles recalled Wells from Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday.
Wells will provide some reinforcement to the Orioles' bullpen after the team needed five relievers to cover eight innings in Sunday's 7-6 loss to the Angels when starter Chris Ellis (shoulder) failed to record an out. Ellis was placed on the 10-day injured list to open up a spot for Wells, who could be a candidate to replace the former in the rotation if he isn't needed in relief over the next few days.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Needs another rehab start
Yarbrough (groin) will make a second rehab start for Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Yarbrough made the Opening Day roster but hit the injured list with a groin strain prior to making his season debut. He struggled during his first rehab start Saturday, walking four and allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit while retiring just a single batter. He'll need at least one more outing to demonstrate that he's ready to return before the Rays feel comfortable activating him.

Liam Hendriks RP | CHC
White Sox's Liam Hendriks: Considered day-to-day
Hendriks is considered day-to-day due to back spasms but hasn't been ruled out from appearing in Tuesday's game against the Royals, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Hendriks reportedly slipped in the dugout between the ninth and 10th innings Sunday against the Twins, shortly before allowing a walkoff homer to Byron Buxton. The issue doesn't appear to be serious, however, as it looks as though he'll return to action within a few days if not right away. If he doesn't wind up being cleared to pitch Tuesday, Kendall Graveman or Aaron Bummer could receive a save opportunity.

Paul Sewald RP | TOR
Mariners' Paul Sewald: Back with team, but not activated
Sewald (illness) arrived in Tampa Bay for the team's three-game set with the Rays, but he won't be activated from the COVID-19 injured list ahead of Tuesday's series opener, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Sewald's ability to rejoin the team suggests he's no longer experiencing symptoms of the virus, but acting manager Kristopher Negron said the reliever will just be "going through the motions" Tuesday while he works to regain conditioning after a six-day layoff. Negron left the door open for Sewald to play Wednesday, depending on how he feels physically one day after resuming baseball activity.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
White Sox's Joe Kelly: Nearing rehab assignment
Kelly (biceps) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.
Kelly is in the final stages of recovery from a biceps strain which dates back to last October. He's expected to pitch one more time at the team's spring training complex and will embark on a rehab assignment if that outing goes well.
