Fulmer earned his 12th save of the season Saturday against the Royals, allowing one hit with two strikeouts in 1.1 innings.

Fulmer came on with two outs in the eighth inning and immediately put out a fire, striking out Andrew Benintendi to strand a pair of inherited runners. The Tigers added two runs to their 3-1 lead in the bottom of the frame, and Fulmer finished things off in the ninth. Fulmer has adjusted well to his new relief role in 2021, logging a 3.06 ERA and 72:18 K:BB over 67.2 innings.

Heasley pitched 5.1 scoreless innings Saturday against Detroit, giving up three hits and two walks with three strikeouts. He did not factor in the decision.

It was a much-improved effort from Heasley, who surrendered four runs in four innings during his MLB debut eight days earlier. Heasley limited the Tigers to a double and a pair of singles Saturday and pitched into the sixth inning before a one-out walk to Daz Cameron ended his day. Heasley has just five strikeouts through his first 9.1 innings, but he has almost certainly earned one more start this season, tentatively scheduled for next Friday against Minnesota.

Valdez cleared waivers Saturday and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Valdez began the season as the Orioles' closer but will end it having been designated for assignment twice. Seeing as he's a 36-year-old who's posted a 5.87 ERA this season over 46 innings, it's unsurprising that he passed through waivers unclaimed.

Snead was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Saturday.

Snead had a one-day stint with the Blue Jays in early September and will now return to the major-league club. The 26-year-old has appeared in seven games for Toronto and given up two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over 7.2 innings.

Zimmermann (ankle) is expected to start Tuesday's game against the Red Sox, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

He gave up five earned runs while striking out nine in 6.1 innings through two rehab starts. Zimmermann will take the rotation spot of Keegan Akin, who is done for the year with a left adductor strain. Zimmermann could make two starts next week if the Orioles stick with a five-man rotation.

With Tyler Wells (shoulder inflammation) done for the season, Sulser seems like the most likely candidate to get saves for Baltimore down the stretch.

He has a 1.34 ERA, 0.82 WHIP, 11 strikeouts, two wins, two saves and three holds over his last 13.1 innings and currently boasts a nine-inning scoreless streak. Wells got two saves this week prior to landing on the injured list. The Orioles have a three-game homestand against Boston next week before finishing the season with a three-game road series in Toronto.

Cisnero (elbow laceration) is unlikely to return this season, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Manager AJ Hinch said Saturday that it would be "improbable" for Cisnero to return this year, although the team is not ruling it out. He is still dealing with swelling around the laceration in his elbow and he's got less than 10 days before the season wraps up.

Fleming was recalled from Triple-A Durham prior to Saturday's game against the Marlins, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

He compiled an 8.84 ERA, 2.07 WHIP and 12 strikeouts in 18.1 innings across five MLB appearances in August. Dietrich Enns was sent down in a corresponding move. Fleming is likely to work as a low-leverage reliever.

Staumont walked two and struck out two over 1.1 scoreless innings to earn a hold in Friday's 3-1 win over Detroit.

The right-hander got the last out of the seventh inning after Jake Brentz struggled. Staumont then worked out of his own jam in the eighth to record his 15th hold of the season. The 27-year-old has added five saves and a 3-3 record across 61 appearances while logging a 3.03 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 69:27 K:BB as a reliable high-leverage option.

Tapia (4-0) allowed a run on two hits and a walk in one inning, earning the win Friday versus Detroit.

The right-hander took a blown save when he allowed a game-tying RBI single to Eric Haase in the sixth inning, but Kansas City restored its lead in the seventh. Tapia saw his 13-inning scoreless streak end Friday, but he's still given up just three runs with a 20:11 K:BB in 25.2 innings since the start of August. He owns a 1.76 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:13 K:BB over 30.2 innings overall while gradually working into more high-leverage spots.
