Kay will make his big-league debut Saturday against the Rays, but it's possible he will follow an opener, Ben Wagner of Sportsnet reports.

He will either work as a true starter or follow Wilmer Font. From a fantasy standpoint, following Font probably gives Kay a better chance of qualifying for a win, although Font has given up runs in three of his last six appearances, and it obviously wouldn't be ideal for Kay to enter the game with a deficit. Kay had a 2.50 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 39:22 K:BB in 36 innings (seven starts) in the minors since getting dealt to the Blue Jays in the Marcus Stroman trade.

Betances (lat) will be limited to 15-20 pitches in his rehab outing with Double-A Trenton on Friday, Greg Johnson of The Trentonian reports.

Betances is making his first rehab appearance after dealing with shoulder and lat issues all season, so he will be eased into action with a one-inning outing Friday. The Yankees are hoping Betances will be ready to rejoin the big club by mid-September.

Palumbo (thumb) played catch Thursday without a bandage on his finger for the first time since suffering a blister Aug. 20, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

The Rangers are hoping to have Palumbo pitch in a game by the middle of September. The left-hander has had a rocky introduction to the majors, allowing 14 earned runs in 10.2 innings over four appearances.

Boshers (0-3) was charged with the loss against the Rays on Thursday after giving up a home run without recording any outs.

Boshers threw just two pitches, but that's all it took for Austin Meadows to crank a go-ahead home run. The left-hander was then pulled before any further damage was done, but unfortunately it was too late. Boshers owns a 6.08 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across 18 appearances this season.

Rogers picked up the save against the Red Sox on Thursday, getting the final two outs while allowing one hit in a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Twins' 2-1 victory. He didn't record a walk or a strikeout.

The 28-year-old has been rolling lately, as he's now successfully converted seven straight save opportunities since Aug. 4 to bring his total on the season up to 24. He's blown six saves, but Rogers has also provided solid ratios this season, as he's got a 2.49 ERA and 1.04 WHIP to go along with a 79:10 K:BB over 61.1 innings.

Pruitt did not factor into the decision during Thursday's win, holding Toronto to one run on four hits and a walk while striking out four across five innings.

Making his second start of the season, Pruitt was able to limit the Blue Jays to a single run, which came in the form of a leadoff home run by Bo Bichette. The right-hander was solid in his last start as well, firing 5.1 shutout innings with six strikeouts. Pruitt had previously served as a bulk reliever for the Rays this season. He'll carry a 4.43 ERA and 1.24 WHIP into his next outing, which projects to come Wednesday at Texas.

Leclerc picked up the save against the Orioles on Thursday, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning to close out the Rangers' 3-1 victory. He struck out one.

He yielded a couple of baserunners, but Leclerc managed to work out of trouble and finish off the Orioles for his 10th save of the season. The 25-year-old has managed to rack up an impressive 88 strikeouts in 59.2 innings this season, but his ratios still leave a bit to be desired, as he's sporting a 4.22 ERA and 1.31 WHIP.

Lopez threw a complete-game while striking out 11 and allowing one run on one hit with three walks to earn a victory against the Indians on Thursday.

This was quite a way to bounce back from his shortest outing of the season when he didn't get out of the first inning against the Braves. Lopez's one-hitter was his first complete game of the season, and he had only gone eight innings one other time previously. However, Lopez is still an unimpressive 9-12 with a 5.17 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 149 strikeouts in 162 innings this season. He will face the Royals at home in his next outing Wednesday.

Pagan allowed one hit and a walk across a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save against the Blue Jays on Thursday.

The right-hander effortlessly worked around a double and a walk to earn his 18th save of the year. Despite a rough span earlier this season, Pagan has been on fire, converting five straight save chances and 11 of his last 12.

Thornton did not factor into the decision during Thursday's loss to the Rays, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings.

Thornton held Tampa Bay scoreless until the fourth inning, when he gave up a leadoff double to Austin Meadows. A fielding error by Justin Smoak allowed Tommy Pham to reach and Meadows to score. Pham then accounted for the second run on a sacrifice fly by Avisail Garcia. Thornton was soon pulled in the fifth after giving up a double, hitting Meadows with a pitch and issuing back-to-back walks. The right-hander will take a 5.23 ERA and 1.50 WHIP into a tough matchup against the Red Sox on Wednesday.
