Chapman struck out two batters in an inning of relief to record his 16th save of the season in a 4-1 victory over the Red Sox on Friday.

The 31-year-old fanned only two batters in his last three innings prior to Friday, so it was nice to see Chapman back to his strikeout ways. Despite fewer punchouts over the last week, he experienced a dominant month, posting a 0.80 ERA while going 10-for-10 in May save chances. Overall, Chapman owns a 1.59 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 34 strikeouts this season. He is also 16-for-17 in save opportunities.

Covey (1-4) picked up the win after allowing one run on eight hits and one walk while striking out five over six innings Friday night against the Indians.

Covey gave up a solo home run in the first inning, but he settled down and hurled five scoreless frames to close out his night. The 27-year-old right-hander finally managed to pick up his first win of the 2019 season in his sixth start, and he now owns a 4.73 ERA and 1.42 WHIP with an 18:19 K:BB over 32.1 innings.

Bass did not allow a baserunner over 1.1 innings, striking out two batters and earning the save in Friday's 4-3 win over the Angels.

It's the journeyman reliever's first major-league save since 2014. Bass has done well in five appearances since signing with the Mariners, with a 1.42 ERA and 0.63 WHIP in 6.1 innings. He's not expected to compete for saves, but the right-hander may be trusted with higher-leverage assignments if he continues to pitch well.

Jurado (2-2) allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six over six innings Friday in a win over the Royals.

Baserunners were plentiful during Jurado's six innings of work, but he managed to dance around danger for the most part, yielding a run in the second and in the fifth. He was lifted from the contest down 2-0, but his offense struck for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, putting Jurado in line for the victory. The 23-year-old right-hander owns a 2.43 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 22 punchouts through 29.2 innings this season

Beeks allowed two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three over 3.1 innings Friday night against Minnesota.

Beeks cruised through his first two innings of work before getting roughed up in the fifth, yielding two runs on a pair of hits. The 25-year-old lefty has been solid in primarily a bulk reliever role this season for the Rays, posting a 3.02 ERA with 43 strikeouts in 44.2 innings of work.

Stanek allowed one run on four hits and struck out two over two innings Friday against the Twins.

Stanek wasn't as sharp as he typically is when serving as an opener, surrendering a run in the first inning on three hits. He'd tossed four straight scoreless outings coming into Friday's "start," but he still owns a solid 3.06 ERA with 34 strikeouts across 32.1 innings following Friday's appearance.

Ramsey was designated for assignment by the Angels on Friday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Los Angeles cleared a spot on the 40-man roster to make room for John Curtiss, whose contract was selected earlier in the day. Ramsey owns a 5.27 ERA and 1.82 WHIP with a 15:8 K:BB over 13.2 innings this season with Triple-A Salt Lake.

Curtiss had his contract selected from Triple-A Salt Lake prior to Friday's game against the Mariners, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Curtiss was designated for assignment by the Angels at the end of April, though he was eventually ourighted to Triple-A after failing to draw interest while on the waiver wire. He owns a 5.91 ERA with 29 strikeouts across 21.1 innings this season with the Bees.

Betances (shoulder) will throw another bullpen session Sunday before the Yankees determine the next step in his rehab, Lindsey Adler of The Athletic reports.

The bullpen session will be Betances' third throwing session off a mound, and the presumed next step is live batting practice. The team has yet to offer an official timeline for his return, but if all goes well the 31-year-old could be activated sometime in June.

Leclerc struck out two batters over a scoreless inning in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Kansas City.

Leclerc, who earlier in the week battled shoulder and calf injuries, has pitched two consecutive days, suggesting there's no lingering discomfort. He has been reliable since being moved out of the closer's role, posting a 2.13 ERA with a 24:6 K:BB over 12.1 innings.
