Manager Aaron Boone said Betances (shoulder) could resume throwing off a mound Monday or Tuesday, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.

Betances has been limited to throwing off flat ground for much of May, though he's increased his distance with each successive session. With the right-hander apparently making it through the light throwing without any setbacks, he'll take a significant step forward by getting back onto the mound for the first time since early April. If he incurs no further hiccups in his recovery from the right shoulder injury, Betances could be ready to rejoin the big-league bullpen at some point in June.

The Angels optioned Barria to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Barria will cede his spot on the active roster to Andrew Heaney (elbow), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Rangers. After opening the season as a starter/primary pitcher for the Angels, Barria worked in a relief role during his latest stint with the big club.

The Orioles recalled Phillips from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday, Jon Meoli of The Baltimore Sun reports.

He'll assume the active roster spot of first baseman Chris Davis (hip), who was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Phillips has previously made 11 relief appearances for Baltimore this season, giving up 10 runs on 14 hits and 10 walks over 12.2 innings.

The Tigers claimed Adams off waivers from the Twins on Sunday.

Adams made just two appearances with Minnesota this season, giving up five runs on four hits and three walks over 2.2 innings in relief before being designated for assignment. Since he doesn't have any minor-league options remaining, the Tigers will need to clear a spot for Adams on the active roster.

The Blue Jays placed Mayza on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to left forearm tightness, John Lott of The Athletic reports.

Though forearm tightness is often an injury that sidelines pitchers well beyond the minimum 10 days, the Blue Jays are apparently optimistic that Mayza's setback is more of a short-term issue, per Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports. Toronto called up Jacob Waguespack from Triple-A Buffalo to assume Mayza's spot on the active roster and in the bullpen.

The Yankees recalled Harvey from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ahead of Sunday's game against the Royals.

Harvey will join the Yankees for the third time this season after posting a 5.40 ERA and 1.80 WHIP across 8.1 innings between his first two stints. The right-hander is expected to see most of his work in lower-leverage spots for the duration of his stay with New York.

Beeks is slated to serve as the Rays' bulk reliever in Sunday's game against the Indians, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

As per usual, Beeks will enter the contest behind opener Ryne Stanek, who is expected to work no more than an inning or two. Beeks ceded a season-high five runs and eight hits his last time out May 21 against the Dodgers but maintains a 3.19 ERA over 36.2 innings for the campaign.

Leclerc walked one and struck out three in one inning in Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Angels.

Leclerc extended his scoreless streak to five appearances, spanning 6.1 innings. He's now allowed just one run on one hit and five walks while striking out 19 over 10 innings since being removed as the team's closer. His performance has fueled speculation that he will be reinstated in the role. That reinstatement could happen soon, after replacement closer Shawn Kelley was tagged with a blown save Saturday.

Alvarado, who was charged with a loss against the Indians on Friday after allowing two earned runs on two hits and three walks over an inning, will continue to see his usual amount of save opportunities, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Alvarado essentially shares the closer role with right-hander Diego Castillo, who matches Alvarado's five saves while checking in with a lower ERA (2.39) and WHIP (1.03). Alvarado sports 3.15 and 1.35 figures in those categories and is now 0-4 on the season while also sporting one blown save. However, manager Kevin Cash made it a point to state he "has no concerns whatsoever" about the southpaw, whose bloated 5.4 BB/9 has been a culprit in his occasional struggles.

Treinen recorded his 10th save of the season Saturday, giving up two runs on three hits in an inning of relief in a 6-5 win over the Mariners.

The right-hander wasn't sharp and served up a solo homer to Domingo Santana and an RBI double to J.P. Crawford, but Treinen was still able to escape without blowing his third save of the year. It's the third time in his last six appearances he's been scored upon, driving his ERA up to 3.20 -- a far cry from the 0.78 mark he posted in his breakout 2018 -- and he's already allowed more home runs (three) in 25.1 innings this season than he did in 80.1 frames last year.
