Soto (0-1) was optioned to Double-A Erie after taking the loss in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins, Emily Waldon of The Athletic reports. He gave up seven runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings while striking out one.

Soto was called up as the 26th man for the nightcap, so his return to Erie was to be expected. The 24-year-old's major-league debut wasn't pretty as he ended up needing 88 pitches (54 strikes) to get through four frames.

Treinen (2-2) was credited with the win after suffering his second blown save in a 3-2 win over the Indians on Saturday. He struck out two and allowed one run on three hits and no walks over an inning of work.

In his first save chance since a bout of right elbow tendinitis, the 30-year old permitted three singles and gave up the tying run. He was able to get out of the inning without further scoring, and the Athletics came back to win in the bottom of the ninth. Treinen now holds a 2.70 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with a 22:11 K:BB, and he has converted six of eight save chances this season.

Jimenez (2-1) blew the save Saturday against the Twins, allowing one run on two hits with a strikeout and a walk in one inning of work, but he picked up the win when the Tigers took the lead in the top of the ninth inning.

Jimenez was supposed to be the bridge to closer Shane Greene in the eighth inning, but C.J. Cron's solo homer tied the game. The outing raised Jimenez's season ERA to 4.70.

Fields signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers and will join Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Fields played a fairly significant role out of the Dodgers' bullpen last year, racking up eight holds and even a couple saves when Kenley Jansen was unavailable. The Dodgers then gave Fields a one-year, $2.65 million deal to avoid arbitration in the winter, but two months later, he was released outright. If he can get back on track with Nashville, Fields could get a look in a Rangers bullpen that has a collective 4.62 ERA.

Martin is expected to have his contract purchased from Triple-A Round Rock and make his big-league debut Sunday against the Rangers, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

Martin will start in place of the struggling Collin McHugh and could have the chance to stick around should he impress in his first start. The 26-year-old has a 2.31 ERA in 179 career minor-league innings, striking out 27.5 percent of opposing batters while walking 7.9 percent. He projects as a future mid-rotation starter with average command, an above-average changeup and a plus slider.

McHugh will be moved to the bullpen, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

McHugh has struggled to a 6.37 ERA in eight starts so far this season, with a particularly poor 12.00 ERA over his last four. He had success as a reliever last season, recording a 1.99 ERA in 58 appearances. Corbin Martin is expected to be promoted for his big-league debut to start Sunday against Texas.

VerHagen cleared waivers Saturday and was outrighted to Triple-A Toledo.

VerHagen passed through waivers unclaimed after allowing 10 runs in six innings of work this season. He owns a career 5.20 ERA in 147 frames, split over parts of six seasons.

Yacabonis was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

The Orioles sent Yacabonis down in late April after he was tagged for 11 earned runs over 15.2 innings out of the bullpen, but they decided to bring him back Saturday to take the spot of Evan Phillips, who was sent to Norfolk in a corresponding move.

Phillips was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday.

Phillips allowed two earned runs in each of his last three appearances, so the Orioles decided to send him down and replace him in the bullpen with Jimmy Yacabonis.

Duffey was recalled as the 26th man on the roster for Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.

Duffey was added to the roster to give the Twins an extra arm out of the bullpen for Saturday's twin bill. He figures to return to the minors after the second game barring any unforeseen circumstances.
