Stanek will serve as the opener for Tuesday's game against the Diamondbacks, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander will hurl the first inning or so before making way for the primary pitcher, who figures to be Jalen Beeks. Stanek had a rough go of it in his last outing Wednesday against the Royals when he surrendered three runs over an inning, though his ERA still sits at 2.81 over 16 frames in 2019.

Loaisiga will join the rotation and start Wednesday against the Mariners, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

The right-hander will be brought up from Triple-A Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre to fill the rotation spot of James Paxton, who landed on the injured list with a knee injury. Paxton doesn't have a return date yet, so it's possible Loaisiga could draw at least one more big-league turn in the rotation while the left-hander works his way back to action. He's yielded three earned runs in 10 innings at the big-league level so far this season.

Betances (shoulder) felt good after throwing Monday but ruled out a potential return in May, Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Betances has been out all season with shoulder inflammation. He suffered a setback in mid-April that required a cortisone shot and has only now resumed throwing. He's on track to return sometime in June.

Rodney was charged with a blown save and took a loss after serving up four runs on three hits and a walk while retiring just one batter in the 13th inning Sunday against the Pirates.

Staked with a 3-1 lead entering the bottom half of the 13th, Rodney was summoned for the save chance while regular closer Blake Treinen (elbow) was unavailable. After inducing a groundout from Elias Diaz, Rodney allowed each of the next three batters to reach base before Starling Marte took him deep for a walkoff three-run blast. Rodney's blowup lessens the likelihood that he'll get the next look in a save opportunity, though it may be a moot point anyway with Treinen expressing optimism that his elbow issue won't require a trip to the injured list.

Weber's contract was selected from Triple-A Pawtucket on Monday.

Weber has a career 5.01 ERA in 73.2 major-league innings, and he maintains a 5.04 ERA through five starts for Pawtucket this season. He's up to replace David Price, who landed on the injured list Monday with elbow tendinitis. It's not clear if he'll be taking Price's rotation spot in addition to his roster spot, but Weber was on the same pitching schedule as Price and would be available to start Tuesday's game against the Orioles if the Red Sox want to go in that direction. The Red Sox have three off days in the next 11 days and can get by without a fifth starter for an extended period after Tuesday.

The Rays optioned Yarbrough to Triple-A Durham on Monday.

Yarbrough was recalled from Triple-A Durham with the expectation he would serve as the club's primary pitcher Sunday in Baltimore, but those plans were nixed when the series finale was postponed due to inclement weather. With Tampa Bay no longer requiring a fresh long-inning option out of the bullpen in its upcoming games, the team elected to send Yarbrough back to Durham in exchange for a versatile bench piece in Andrew Velazquez.

Pressly allowed one hit and struck out one over 1.2 scoreless innings in Sunday's 10-4 win over the Angels.

With those five outs, Pressly extended his streak of scoreless innings to a club-record 33 dating back to August of last season. That passes the previous mark of 32.1 innings set by Roy Oswalt in 2008.

Chapman struck out the only batter he faced to record his seventh save in a 4-1 rain-shortened win over the Twins on Sunday.

Chapman entered the game in the eighth inning with two runners on base and promptly struck out Marwin Gonzalez to end the inning. After a one-hour rain delay, the game was called, and Chapman was awarded his seventh save of the season. Chapman has seven saves and a 2.13 ERA through 12.2 innings this season.

Covey allowed two runs on five hits and three walks while striking out two over 4.2 innings Sunday in a no-decision against Boston.

Covey surrendered a run in the second and fifth innings, and although he wasn't able to complete his fifth frame of work, he kept his team in the game and gave them a chance to win. The 27-year-old was moved into the starting rotation after Carlos Rodon (elbow) went down with an injury and is expected to make his next appearance Friday in Toronto.

Frare was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte following Sunday's game against the Red Sox. He allowed a run and issued a walk to the lone batter he faced.

The 25-year-old lefty was called upon in the eighth inning with the bases loaded, but he handed out a free pass to the only batter he faced, and Xander Bogaerts would clear the bases with a grand slam later in the frame. Frare now owns a 10.13 ERA with three punchouts over 2.2 innings this season in the big leagues and will head back down to the minors following this latest roster move.
