Alan Busenitz RP | CIN
Twins' Alan Busenitz: Shipped to minors
Busenitz was sent to Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Busenitz was optioned to make room for Adalberto Mejia, who's slated to start Tuesday's matchup against the Blue Jays. In 10 appearances out of the bullpen this season, Busenitz has accrued an ugly 6.75 ERA and 2.08 WHIP with 15 strikeouts over 12 innings.

Giovanny Gallegos RP | LAD
Yankees' Giovanny Gallegos: Called up by Yankees
Gallegos was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday.
This move was announced Saturday but became official with Sunday's transaction. Gallegos appears poised for low-leverage relief situations, taking the roster spot of fellow reliever Domingo Acevedo, who was demoted in a corresponding move.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Athletics' Blake Treinen: Blows fourth save
Treinen was charged with his fourth blown save of the season in an extra-inning win over the Giants on Saturday, allowing an earned run on a hit, two walks and a wild pitch over two innings. He also recorded three strikeouts.
It was a rare stumble for Treinen, who'd been brought on in his customary ninth-inning role to preserve a 3-2 lead. The frame started out positively enough with Buster Posey and Pablo Sandoval both being retired on groundouts, but Alen Hanson was able to reach on a swinging strike three due to Treinen's wild pitch. A Hunter Pence double then plated the game-tying run, ultimately sending the contest into extras. Given his overall success this season, Treinen is still likely to serve as the Athletics' primary closer in the wake of the acquisition of Jeurys Familia from the Mets, but he could yield occasional save opportunities to the latter in the second half.

Donnie Hart RP | BAL
Orioles' Donnie Hart: Sent back to Norfolk
Hart was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
Hart has been up and down from the minors this season, but hasn't pitched since prior to the All-Star break. He was ultimately deemed expendable when the team needed a roster spot to activate Sunday's starter, Andrew Cashner, but should be back with the Orioles when the team needs a lefty reliever down the road.

Dylan Covey RP | ATL
White Sox's Dylan Covey: Throws gem
Covey (4-5) allowed two hits and two walks while striking out five across 8.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Saturday against the Mariners.
This was Covey's longest start of his career, and the first time he's pitched more than five innings in a start since June 13. He generated 12 groundball outs, limiting the Mariners' opportunity to do any damage against him. However, he generated only seven swinging strikes, making him dependent on limiting hard contact to be successful. While he has flashed that ability for several starts at a time, he has not gotten results consistently enough to be a reliable fantasy asset.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jakob Junis: Early exit in return from DL
Junis didn't factor into the decision in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Twins, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over four innings while striking out six.
He was held to only 77 pitches (53 strikes) in his first start after being activated from the disabled list, preventing Junis from picking up his sixth win of the season despite a strong performance. If his pre-break troubles were caused by his sore back, and that issue is now behind him, the right-hander could return to the form that saw him post quality starts in five of his first seven outings of the season. He'll take a 5.03 ERA with him into Yankee Stadium on Thursday.

Ryan Yarbrough RP | NYY
Rays' Ryan Yarbrough: Absorbs loss in four frames
Yarbrough (8-5) allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out three over four innings in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday.
Taking the mound after Tampa Bay opener Ryne Stanek, Yarbrough allowed both runs in the fourth inning. The southpaw's ERA stands at 3.65 with an 8.4 K/9 and 3.3 BB/9, and his 13 decisions so far put him in position to remain a decent target as second-half streamers chase wins.
-
Brian Johnson RP | BOS
Red Sox's Brian Johnson: Saddled with loss
Johnson (1-3) took the loss against the Tigers on Saturday, allowing two unearned runs in five innings while giving up five hits and striking out five.
Both runs came in the second inning: Victor Martinez reached on a one-out throwing error before a single and a two-out double from Jose Iglesias that plated the runners. Johnson lowered his ERA to 3.81 but, with a 7.8 K/9 and 2.8 BB/9, carries less-than-stellar command peripherals to back it up. With several Red Sox hurlers on the disabled list, however, Johnson should have at least a few more turns in the rotation, with the next one lining up for Thursday against the Twins.

Giovanny Gallegos RP | LAD
Yankees' Giovanny Gallegos: Set to join big-league roster
Gallegos is in line to be added to the Yankees roster Sunday from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Jack Curry of YES Network reports.
The right-hander owns a 4.50 major-league ERA in four appearances but has mowed down Triple-A opponents with a 3.55 ERA, 37 strikeouts and seven walks in 25.1 innings. Gallegos will join the Bronx Bombers for low-leverage duty after they returned Domingo Acevedo to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Ryan Merritt RP | TB
Indians' Ryan Merritt: Outrighted to Triple-A
Merritt cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Columbus on Saturday.
Merritt returned from the 60-day disabled list last week and was subsequently designated for assignment due to his continued decrease in velocity. The 26-year-old will remain with the Clippers, where he has spent the last month on his minor-league rehab assignment.
