Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Escapes jam for 21st save
Chapman worked around a hit and a walk in a scoreless inning of work to earn his 21st save of the season Monday against the Nationals.
Staked to a two-run lead, Chapman made things interesting by putting the tying run on base with just one out. He buckled down to get the next two men, however, locking down another win for the Yanks. Despite the occasional hiccup, Chapman has still dominated to the tune of a 14:3 K:BB, no earned runs allowed and nine consecutive saves across his last 8.1 innings.

Giovanny Gallegos RP | LAD
Yankees' Giovanny Gallegos: Shipped to Triple-A
Gallegos was sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre following Monday's game.
As expected, Gallegos will return to the minor leagues after serving as the 26th man. He's appeared in just one big-league game this season, allowing one hit and striking out one across two scoreless innings.

Giovanny Gallegos RP | LAD
Yankees' Giovanny Gallegos: Up as 26th man
Gallegos was called up to be the Yankees' 26th man Monday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
The Yankees will get an extra man as they're resuming a suspended game with the Nationals ahead of Monday's normal scheduled game. Gallegos pitched once for the Yankees earlier in the season, tossing a pair of scoreless innings. He has a 5.14 ERA in 14 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. The 26-year-old is likely to be sent back to the minors following the pair of games.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Athletics' Blake Treinen: Picks up fourth win Sunday
Treinen (4-1) fired two perfect frames during which he recorded three strikeouts in an extra-innings win over the Angels on Sunday
The Athletics' closer was razor sharp while firing 18 of 21 pitches for strikes over his pair of frames. His ability to hold the Angels at bay was rewarded when Jonathan Lucroy's single brought Jed Lowrie home in the bottom of the 11th, making Treinen the pitcher of record. The 29-year-old has had an eventful and successful month thus far, as he owns two victories, two saves and a 7:2 K:BB over five outings.

Rob Whalen RP | SEA
Mariners' Rob Whalen: Sent back to Triple-A
Whalen was demoted to Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
Whalen was optioned to make room for the return of Juan Nicasio (knee). Whalen pitched four scoreless innings Friday against the Red Sox in his only big-league appearance this season, allowing just one hit and one walk, though he didn't manage to strike out a single batter.

Joe Jimenez RP | ATL
Tigers' Joe Jimenez: Nails down save Sunday
Jimenez recorded his second save of the season in Sunday's 3-1 win over the White Sox, tossing a scoreless inning of relief with three strikeouts.
Regular Detroit closer Shane Greene had appeared in four straight games coming into Sunday, so he got the day off while Jimenez got a crack at a save opportunity. The 23-year-old dazzled, striking out all three Chicago hitters he faced on 14 pitches to lower his season ERA to 2.04. The veteran Greene remains a potential trade candidate, and such a move would seemingly thrust Jimenez into the closer's role on a regular basis.

Daniel Mengden RP | KC
Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Allows four earned runs
Mengden allowed four earned runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two across 5.2 innings Sunday against the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.
After a solid start to the season, Mengden continued his recent struggles with his inability to limit walks and home runs betraying him once again. He allowed two home runs -- both solo shots to Albert Pujols and Chris Young, respectively -- and two of the three batters he walked eventually came around to score. Sunday's start marked his third straight effort in which he has allowed both multiple walks and home runs, making him a difficult option to trust in most shallow formats.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Astros' Ken Giles: Picks up hold Sunday
Giles struck out one in a scoreless eighth inning to earn his first hold of the season in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Royals.
Hector Rondon followed up in the ninth inning to pick up the save, but that manager A.J. Hinch used Giles in the eighth should not be viewed as the manager lacking confidence in him. One could argue he used Giles in the higher-leverage spot, a sign of the Hinch's confidence. Giles pitched the eighth inning against the heart of the Kansas City order while Rondon mopped up against the Royals' lower third. Such an arrangement still might cost Giles a few save chances depending on the alignment of hitters due up in the late innings.

Ryne Stanek RP | STL
Rays' Ryne Stanek: Set to open Monday
Stanek will get the start Monday against the Astros, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Stanek has a tough task ahead, as he's slated to pitch at least the first inning of Monday's series opener against Houston, which has won 11 straight. He's been solid both out of the bullpen and as an opener, accruing a 2.55 ERA and 1.02 WHIP with a 22:9 K:BB over 17.2 innings this season.
