  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Mariners' Alex Colome: Shipped to Seattle

Colome and outfielder Denard Span were traded from the Rays to the Mariners on Friday in exchange for right-handed pitchers Andrew Moore and Tommy Romero, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Colome has acted as the Rays' closer thus far, but he'll slide into a setup role in front of Edwin Diaz in Seattle, a huge hit to his value. He's 11-for-13 in save opportunities this season and sports a 4.15 ERA with 23 strikeouts across 21.2 innings. Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto expects Colome to arrive in Seattle on Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

  • Jaime Barria RP | CLE

Angels' Jaime Barria: Called up Friday

Barria was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Maria Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Barria is slated to get the nod Saturday against the Yankees after being promoted. He's made five starts this season for the Angels, owning a stellar 2.13 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 20 strikeouts across 25.1 innings. It's unclear how long his latest stint in the big leagues will last.

  • Tommy Kahnle RP | BOS

Yankees' Tommy Kahnle: Comes off DL

Kahnle (shoulder) has been reinstated from the 10-day disabled list ahead of Friday's matchup against the Angels.

Kahnle has returned from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and will be available to come out of the bullpen Friday. He appeared in six games, accruing a 6.14 ERA and 1.64 WHIP with nine strikeouts, prior to hitting the disabled list.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Throws two more scoreless innings

McHugh allowed a hit and struck out two over two scoreless innings in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Indians.

McHugh extended his scoreless run to 17.1 innings, spanning 13 appearances. He's allowed runs in just one of his 15 games this season, sporting a 0.46 ERA with 26 strikeouts over 19.2 innings. The 31-year-old right-hander had been a starter his entire career, but he's thrived since a move to the bullpen in 2018 due to the Astros' crowded starting rotation.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Gets 11th save of season

Colome got the save against the Red Sox on Thursday, retiring the only batter he faced in the ninth inning to close out Tampa Bay's 6-3 victory.

Colome took his fifth loss of the season after a rough outing Wednesday but he bounced back to get the save in this contest, retiring Sandy Leon to snuff out a ninth-inning rally from the Red Sox that had seen them plate two runs in the frame. He didn't have to do a lot, but it was still good to see Colome rebound coming off Wednesday's loss. He now has 11 saves in 13 opportunities and he's been effective lately after an erratic start to the season, with just two earned runs to his name in the month of May.

  • Blake Treinen RP | LAD

Athletics' Blake Treinen: Records 11th save

Treinen allowed one hit and struck out two to record his 11th save of the season Thursday against the Mariners.

Treinen entered the game with runners on first and second and promptly allowed an RBI double to Kyle Seager. However, the runs were charged to Lou Trivino and Treinen recovered to record four consecutive outs to close the game. He has proven to be a valuable fantasy asset to this point, ranking third in the American League in saves while also providing strong ratios and racking up plenty of strikeouts.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rangers' Matt Moore: Could rejoin rotation Tuesday

Moore (knee) could rejoin the Rangers' rotation Tuesday against the Mariners, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

Moore landed on the disabled list over the weekend with right knee soreness, but it appears his stay on the shelf could be a brief one. He threw 70 pitches in a live batting practice session Thursday and could be cleared to rejoin the Rangers when first eligible Tuesday if his knee responds positively to the session. The southpaw compiled a 7.99 ERA across 41.2 innings prior to landing on the disabled list, so expectations should be kept in check upon his return to the rotation.

  • Ryne Stanek RP | STL

Rays' Ryne Stanek: Set for spot start Saturday

Stanek will start Saturday against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Stanek will be sandwiched between a pair of Sergio Romo starts as the Rays plan to ditch the traditional starter and deploy a trio of relievers during their three-game series against the Orioles. The 26-year-old owns a 5.40 ERA and 8:3 K:BB across five innings (six appearances) this season. Ryan Yarbrough and Anthony Banda, who are both stretched out, figure to be the top options to take over for Stanek after his abbreviated outing.

  • Jose Alvarado RP | PHI

Rays' Jose Alvarado: Mows them down Wednesday

Alvarado recorded four strikeouts over 1.2 perfect innings in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Alvarado was particularly locked in during the seventh, when he sat down Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers and Eduardo Nunez on swinging strikeouts. The hard-throwing southpaw was coming off giving up a combined three earned runs over his previous two appearances, so Wednesday's outing represented a welcome departure and served as his first multi-strikeout effort since April 28.

  • Alex Colome RP | CHW

Rays' Alex Colome: Takes fifth loss Wednesday

Colome (2-5) allowed three runs (one earned) on a hit, a walk and a wild pitch over two-thirds of an inning in a loss to the Red Sox on Wednesday. He also recorded a strikeout.

Asked to preserve a 1-1 tie entering the ninth, Colome's outing was doomed from the start. J.D. Martinez reached on a throwing error by rookie Willy Adames to open the frame, and Colome then allowed Xander Bogaerts to double him home. A walk to Rafael Devers and a wild pitch later, Eduardo Nunez drove in another run with a sacrifice fly, and a third crossed the plate on a passed ball by Jesus Sucre. It was a rare May slip-up for the 29-year-old closer, who'd generated seven scoreless efforts in his eight prior appearances and compiled five saves overall during the month.
