Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Allows two runs while converting 16th save
Chapman allowed two runs on two hits in an inning of work while converting his 16th save of the season Tuesday against the Mets. He struck out one.
Chapman saw Jose Reyes reach on an infield single with one out before Amed Rosario brought the Mets within one with a two-run home run. He rebounded to get the next two men, closing out what become a narrow victory. Chapman has been shaky of late, allowing five runs over his last 3.1 innings to elevate his ERA to 3.89. It seems unlikely the Yankees would make a bullpen switch right away, but there are plenty of experienced options behind the left-hander in a deep bullpen mix.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jake Junis: To have weekend start skipped
Junis will have his scheduled weekend start against the Indians skipped, Rustin Dodd of The Kansas City Star reports.
Junis was originally lined up to start Sunday's game against the Indians, but with the Royals only playing five games in the next seven days, they'll opt to skip Junis' turn in the rotation and place Jason Hammel on the mound Sunday instead. Junis should rejoin the rotation with a fresh arm next week.

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Pulled from rehab assignment
Santiago (back) was pulled from his rehab assignment because he is still experiencing pain, Brandon Warne of ZoneCoverage.com reports.
Santiago underwent tests in Rochester on Monday, though the results still aren't known yet. The veteran remains without an updated timetable for his return, but one will likely come forth once his test results are disclosed. In the meantime, Kyle Gibson will continue to take his turn in the rotation.

Casey Lawrence RP | SEA
Mariners' Casey Lawrence: Heads back to minors
Lawrence was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday.
Lawrence is unavailable for a couple days after pitching four innings of relief Monday, so the Mariners decided to swap him out for a fresh bullpen arm (Sam Gaviglio). He'll head back to Tacoma for the time being, where he owns a 4.08 ERA in 57.1 innings this season, but he should be back with the big club later in August or when rosters expand.

Jake Diekman RP | ATL
Rangers' Jake Diekman: Tosses another live BP session
Diekman threw 27 pitches during a live batting practice session Monday, the Associated Press reports.
Rangers manager Jeff Banister called it a "very encouraging day" for the left-hander, who hasn't pitched competitively this season following three surgeries to repair his colon. With Diekman having completed multiple live batting practice sessions and simulated games since resuming his throwing program in July, it may not be long before he's cleared to begin a rehab assignment as he prepares for an eventual return to the Texas bullpen.

Dylan Covey RP | ATL
White Sox's Dylan Covey: Activated from DL
Covey was activated from the 10-day disabled list Monday, MLB.com reports.
The White Sox haven't officially announced their plans for Covey, but it's expected that the Rule 5 pick will work in long relief after previously making eight starts before landing on the disabled list in May with a strained oblique. While Covey pitched well during his five-game rehab assignment, the 8.12 ERA (7.87 FIP) he supplied in 37.2 innings with the White Sox prior to suffering the injury suggests he's probably not ready for a meaningful role in the big leagues.

Brian Johnson RP | BOS
Red Sox's Brian Johnson: Back in Pawtucket's rotation
Johnson has rejoined the rotation at Triple-A Pawtucket after being shut down with shoulder fatigue.
Johnson has allowed two runs over two starts (nine innings) since returning from the shoulder issue that cost him one turn in the rotation. With David Price (elbow) sidelined, the left-handed Johnson is an option as a fifth starter if the Red Sox feel Doug Fister, who was hit hard in Monday's loss to Cleveland, isn't working out.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Astros' Collin McHugh: PItches well in loss
McHugh (0-2) allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out six over 5.2 innings in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Diamondbacks.
McHugh bounced back from a drubbing at the hands of the White Sox five days ago, but needed to be better in a duel with Arizona's Zack Grienke, a former Cy Young Award winner who kept the Astros off the board. The 106 pitches Monday were a season high for McHugh, who has made five starts while working himself back from a season-opening elbow injury. The right-hander will make his sixth start of the season Saturday at home against Oakland.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jake Junis: Nabs fifth win against Athletics
Junis (5-2) allowed two runs on four hits and struck out two over six innings to earn the win Monday against Oakland.
Junis was fantastic in a spot start Aug. 6 against Seattle, an outing in which he lasted eight innings and gave up just one run with seven strikeouts. While he wasn't quite as dominant this time around, Junis was similarly sharp, needing just 83 pitches to complete six innings and throwing 18 first-pitch strikes to 24 hitters. What he lacked in swing-and-miss stuff he made up for with pristine control. Junis has thrown quality starts in three of his last four outings for the big club, and even with the Royals in the thick of the American League Wild Card race, the 24-year-old has earned a chance to show what he's got.
