Cody Sedlock RP | BAL
Orioles' Cody Sedlock: Throws bullpen Saturday
Sedlock (elbow) tossed a 30-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.
Sedlock landed on the disabled list with a right elbow flexor strain at the beginning of the month, and is slowly nearing his return to the mound. The 22-year-old said that his arm "felt good" following the session, and he should be able to ramp up his progression over the course of the next week before coming back to High-A Frederick.

Hunter Harvey RP | CHC
Orioles' Hunter Harvey: Starting rehab assignment Wednesday
Harvey (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
This is a significant step in Harvey's recovery from Tommy John surgery after undergoing the procedure last July. The expectation is that Harvey will begin his rehab in rookie-league games before the Orioles activate him at High-A Frederick. Harvey is considered one of the best pitching prospects in the Orioles' system, but injuries have slowed the 22-year-old's development.

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Rehab assignment looming
Santiago (back) will ramp up his throwing program at the beginning of next week, Mike Berardino of the Pioneer Press reports.
Santiago is set to begin with a few bullpen sessions, followed by throwing live batting practice and a trip to the minors on a rehab assignment over the course of the next couple weeks. The southpaw has been out since early July with upper-back pain, but should be able to return well before the end of the month, barring any setbacks.

Daniel Norris RP | CLE
Tigers' Daniel Norris: Throws side session Friday
Norris (groin) did not have as strong of a side session as he would've liked and will throw again Sunday, Evan Woodbery of the MLive Media Group reports.
According to manager Brad Ausmus, the session was "so-so" and the team will have Norris toss one more time before determining the next step for their left-hander. Norris has been out since July 5 with the groin strain, and could return to the rotation without having to participate in any rehab games depending on the results of Sunday's session.

Chad Green RP | TOR
Yankees' Chad Green: Will receive more opportunities
Green is set to earn some chances in the seventh inning moving forward, according to manager Joe Girardi, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.
Girardi removed Tyler Clippard from the seventh-inning role following his rough first half of the season. Although Adam Warren will likely earn most of the chances in the setup role, Green has been impressive during his action this season and should be able to garner a few opportunities of his own. Green has an ERA of 1.80, a phenomenal 0.69 WHIP, and a 47:8 K:BB over 35 innings this year. Since he pitched two scoreless innings (five strikeouts) during Friday night's loss to Boston, Green will be unavailable out of the bullpen for Saturday's contest.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Lands on DL
Kelly was placed on the disabled list Saturday due to a left hamstring strain, Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald reports.
In a surprising move that seemingly came out of nowhere, the Red Sox put their eighth-inning man on the DL prior to Saturday's game against the Yankees. He hasn't pitched since prior to the All-Star break, so the team will backdate his placement retroactive to July 12, making him eligible to return next Sunday. In a corresponding move, the club recalled Brandon Workman from Triple-A Pawtucket.

Brad Boxberger RP | CHC
Rays' Brad Boxberger: Notches win in extra-inning affair
Boxberger (2-0) fired a scoreless ninth inning in Friday's 2-1 extra-inning victory over the Angels.
Boxberger looked sharp once again in what was his fifth straight scoreless effort since making his season debut on June 30. The 29-year-old right-hander showed excellent control over his one frame, firing eight of his 12 pitches for strikes. Manager Kevin Cash appears to have thorough confidence that his former closer is at full health, as he deployed him in a considerably high-leverage scenario Friday.

Matt Belisle RP | CLE
Twins' Matt Belisle: Recovering from bad start
Belisle has an ERA of 2.60 with 11 strikeouts over 17.1 innings since the beginning of June.
Despite his mild recent success, Belisle has only been able to lower his ERA to 5.66 from the 8.66 it sat at after May. The lack of strikeouts doesn't come as much as a shock, as the 37-year-old veteran has never averaged more than 8.9 K/9 in his entire career.
-
Carson Smith RP | BOS
Red Sox's Carson Smith: Throws bullpen Saturday
Smith (elbow) tossed a bullpen session in Fort Myers on Saturday, The Boston Globe's Pete Abraham reports.
Smith was finally able to get some work in after suffering a setback a month ago, which caused the right-hander to be shut down for a week with shoulder inflammation. This marked significant progress for the reliever, as he slowly but surely recovers from the Tommy John surgery that has forced him to miss over a year of action. He will likely throw another bullpen in the coming days and could head out on a rehab assignment within the next couple weeks.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Picks up 14th save Friday
Diaz struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Friday to notch his 14th save of the season in a 4-2 win over the White Sox.
While it's been an up-and-down campaign for the young closer, things are mostly trending up at the moment for Diaz, who's struck out at least one batter in 13 straight games while posting a 2.70 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB in 13.1 innings over that stretch.
