  • Yankees' Aroldis Chapman: Earns two-out save against White Sox

Chapman recorded two outs to collect his fourth save of the season during Monday's win over Chicago.

The elite closer hasn't allowed a run this season and has eight strikeouts through 5.1 innings. With the Yankees boasting a 9-4 record and scoring runs in bunches, Chapman can be expected to continue seeing enough save opportunities to remain a high-end fantasy asset.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Fans two for third save

Giles pitched a perfect ninth inning with two strikeouts for his third save of the year in Monday's 3-0 win over the Angels.

Giles is a perfect 3-for-3 in save chances in 2017 despite being hit with a loss already and allowing five runs in six innings of work. The flamethrower's elite strikeout rate (16.5 K/9) and ability to keep the ball in the yard make him a near-elite fantasy fireman. It also helps that he's closing things out for an Astros team that's favored to win the AL West.

  • Jesse Chavez RP | ATL

Angels' Jesse Chavez: Rebounds in loss to Astros

Chavez (1-2) allowed two runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out five over seven innings in Monday's 3-0 loss to the Astros.

It was a nice bounce-back performance from Chavez, who allowed five runs in 4.1 innings in his last outing against the Rangers. The 33-year-old right-hander doesn't have any one skill that stands out, but he can be serviceable as a matchup-based starter in AL-only leagues. However, he'll need to continue pitching well consistently in order to stick in the Angels' rotation.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Expects to miss just one start

Graveman (shoulder) expects to miss just one start during his stint on the 10-day disabled list, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Graveman said that if the disabled list were still set at 15 days, he likely would have just been pushed back a few days. This is a great example of why the 10-day disabled list should help both teams and players; the Athletics aren't tempted to rush Graveman along to save a roster spot, while the righty doesn't have to miss multiple starts due to what appears to be a minor injury. If Graveman indeed misses the minimum 10 days, he'll be able to return April 25 against the Angels.

  • Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Adds another check to saves column

Kimbrel struck out three consecutive batters on just 15 pitches to collect his sixth save of the season during Monday's win over Tampa Bay.

The veteran closer has allowed just three hits and two walks through seven innings while fanning 12 batters, and after Monday's spotless outing, Kimbrel's ERA is down to 1.29. After pitching three consecutive days, it's unlikely the hard-throwing righty takes the mound Tuesday against Toronto, so Matt Barnes might be in line to pick up a save if the situation arises.

  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Placed on DL

Graveman (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday.

The A's haven't specified what Graveman is dealing with or how long he will be sidelined, but MLB.com's Jane Lee reported he was placed on the DL with a shoulder strain. The move is retroactive to Saturday, so with Sunday's postponement, Graveman could only miss one start if he is able to return after the minimum 10 days. Hopefully this is just precautionary for the 26-year-old, who is off to a nice start to the season, allowing just four runs through 18 innings (three starts). Bruce Maxwell was called up in a corresponding move.

  • Josh Staumont RP | CIN

Royals' Josh Staumont: Shines in second start at Triple-A

Staumont dealt six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out 12 in Thursday's win for Triple-A Omaha.

Staumont, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs in at a solid 200 pounds, bounced back from a rough first start of the minor-league season that saw him give up seven runs in 3.1 innings. The organization's No. 2 prospect can reach triple digits on the radar gun, but he proved he can also mix it up in Thursday's stellar performance, including ending his night by striking out former MLB player Will Middlebrooks with three straight curveballs. He boasts huge strikeout potential and could make his MLB debut as soon as this season.

  • Matt Strahm RP | KC

Royals' Matt Strahm: Working through mental blockage

According to Royals manager Ned Yost, Strahm's performance issues were more mental than physical, and the skipper expects the lefty to return to the big-league club in due time, MLB.com's Jeffrey Flanagan reports.

The club's No. 1 prospect, Strahm was sensational as a rookie in 2016, posting a 1.23 ERA in 21 games. But in three outings this season, the 25-year-old gave up seven earned runs over 1.1 innings while allowing four hits and issuing six walks. "We just want to let [Strahm] get down there [to Triple-A Omaha] in a less pressured environment, and get him back to who he is," Yost said. "We built this bullpen with him right in the middle of it. We need him to be him. Send him down, get it straightened out, get him back up." The manager also mentioned that he doesn't believe Strahm is that far away from returning.

  • Edwin Diaz RP | LAD

Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Collects first win

Diaz allowed a solo home run in the ninth inning but was bailed out by his offense in the bottom half of the frame to earn his first win Sunday against Texas.

After a dominant 2016 campaign that saw Diaz climb from Double-A all the way to the Seattle closing gig, he's stumbled a bit to start 2017. His K/BB ratio is down from 5.87 last year to 2.33 this season, which is worth watching over the coming weeks. However, there are no velocity concerns, and he's collected two saves and a win already. If anything, this might be a potential buy-low spot for the strikeout artist.

  • Brian Johnson RP | BOS

Red Sox's Brian Johnson: In line for Tuesday start

Johnson is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket to start Tuesday against the Blue Jays, Jen McCaffrey of MassLive.com reports.

The Red Sox's scheduled starter, Eduardo Rodriguez, has been placed on the paternity list, so Johnson is in line to make the spot start. The left-handed Johnson has been brilliant for Triple-A Pawtucket to open the season season, compiling a 1.69 ERA with 15 strikeouts and four walks over 10.2 innings.
