  • Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Battered in Saturday loss

Graveman (10-10) gave up eight earned runs on 12 hits and three walks over five-plus innings in Saturday's 14-3 loss to the Mariners. He also recorded a strikeout.

The right-hander's troubles came over the first three innings, during which he gave up seven of his eight earned runs. Graveman didn't give up any homers, but yielded RBI singles to Kyle Seager, Nelson Cruz and Jesus Sucre, while also giving up a run-scoring double to Nori Aoki. The poor outing was somewhat surprising, considering Graveman has pieced together a streak of four straight quality starts that included a complete-game, two-hit shutout of the White Sox back on Aug. 19. He'll look to put this one behind him when he faces the Royals next Thursday.

  • Ken Giles RP | ATL

Astros' Ken Giles: Tallies 10th save in Saturday victory

Giles notched his 10th save in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Cubs, giving up only a walk over an inning while striking out two.

The 25-year-old is now 10-for-13 in save opportunities, while also tallying 18 holds. Giles continues to mow down hitters at an impressive clip, now having amassed 87 strikes over 56.1 innings.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Solid over five innings in Saturday victory

McHugh (10-10) gave up an earned run on two hits and three walks over five innings in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Cubs. He struck out six.

The righty had some struggles with his control, an integral factor in his exit after just five frames. McHugh fired a total of 92 pitches during his time on the mound and often got behind early in the count, notching first-pitch strikes on just nine of 19 hitters. He did manage 12 swinging strikes overall, however, and has now rattled off wins in his last three decisions. He'll look to keep the positive momentum going when he takes on the Mariners next Friday.

  • Twins' Hector Santiago: Allows one run in seven innings

Santiago allowed one run on five hits and four walks over seven innings Saturday against Cleveland while striking out two. He did not factor into the decision.

Santiago was disastrous in his first four starts after being acquired by Minnesota at the trade deadline, going 0-4 and giving up 23 earned runs and 32 hits in just 19 innings. But he's found a nice groove over his last three starts and has allowed just four earned runs and 12 hits over the same amount of innings. Coming off three straight quality starts, he's worthy of fantasy consideration when he squares off against Jordan Zimmermann and the Detroit Tigers on September 15.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Next start TBD

Fulmer will not pitch in the first three games of next week's series against the Twins, and it is unclear when he will make his next start, MLive's Evan Woodbery reports.

Daniel Norris, Matt Boyd and Anibal Sanchez will start the first three games against the Twins, and Fulmer could be an option to start the series finale Thursday, although Jordan Zimmermann could also make that start if Saturday's outing goes smoothly. The Tigers may not completely skip Fulmer this time around, but they are certainly giving him plenty of extra rest in an effort to manage his workload. Stay tuned to see when he will next take the hill.

  • Austin Adams RP | WAS

Indians' Austin Adams: Recalled from Triple-A

Adams was recalled from Triple-A Columbus on Saturday, Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

The right-hander will come up to provide depth to the Indians' bullpen after finishing out his time with Columbus with a minuscule 0.71 second-half ERA. Adams finished with 63 strikeouts in 44.1 innings in the minors this year, but probably won't see enough high-leverage work to be a reliable source of holds.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Remains on track to start Wednesday

Manaea (back) threw a successful bullpen session Saturday and remains on track to start Wednesday in Kansas City, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports.

He threw 50 pitches off a bullpen mound Saturday (30 warmup pitches and 20 to simulate an inning). The key is that his back continues to feel good throughout his rehab, and as long as that remains the case, he will take the ball Wednesday and could finish out the year in the rotation.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Posts quality start in Friday no-decision

Fulmer didn't factor into the decision Friday against the Orioles despite a quality start in which he surrendered two earned runs on just three hits and a walk over seven innings. He struck out five.

Fulmer turned in his usual solid effort, but came up empty in the win column again, the fourth straight start in which he's failed to notch a victory. The 23-year-old's only hiccup was the 400-foot two-run shot he gave up to Jonathan Schoop in the sixth, which opened the scoring on the night for the Orioles. After a rough patch in his last two starts of August, Fulmer has bounced back by giving up just five earned runs over the 13 innings encompassing his last two trips to the mound. He'll try again for his 11th win when he takes on the Twins next Wednesday.

  • Yankees' Dellin Betances: Notches 10th save despite some trouble

Betances notched his 10th save in Friday's 7-5 victory over the Rays despite giving up an earned run on three hits over his inning of work. He struck out two.

The towering closer gave up an RBI single to Logan Morrison in the ninth before slamming the door by striking out Steven Souza. Betances is now 10-for-14 in save opportunities, while also amassing 28 holds in his previous role as a late-inning specialist.

  • Athletics' Daniel Mengden: Suffers seventh defeat versus Mariners on Friday

Mengden (1-7) allowed just two runs on five hits, struck out six and walked two over five innings in a loss to the Mariners on Friday.

The losses continue to pile up for the 23-year-old, who started his MLB career on a high note in June but has struggled since then. He is 0-4 with a 9.39 ERA over his seven starts. He will again be looking for the second win of his career Wednesday versus Kansas City.
