Matt Andriese RP | MIA
Rays' Matt Andriese: Fans eight in no-decision on Wednesday
Andriese allowed three runs on seven hits while walking one and striking out eight over six innings, but didn't factor in the decision in the Rays 4-3 extra-inning win over the Red Sox.
The right-hander had failed to make it out of the sixth inning in his previous four outings since rejoining the Rays' rotation after the trade deadline, posting a 6.84 ERA and 6.02 FIP over that span. Andriese appeared to return back into the pitcher we watched in May and early June when he started the season 6-0. He'll look to get another crack at the Red Sox on the road on Monday.

Dellin Betances RP | LAD
Yankees' Dellin Betances: Picks up sixth save Wednesday versus Mariners
Betances logged a four-out save, his sixth of the season, while walking one and striking out three against the Mariners on Wednesday afternoon.
Betances is now 6-for-6 in save chances since taking over as the team's closer at the beginning of the month. He's allowed just one run in 10 appearances while striking out 19 over 10 innings in August. The 28-year-old has emerged as one of the top closers to own down the stretch run of the fantasy season.

Hector Santiago RP | SEA
Twins' Hector Santiago: Next scheduled start skipped
Santiago will have his next start skipped as he deals with a bruised thumb.
It's unclear when Santiago sustained the injury, but he was lit up in his last start to the tune of eight runs and 11 hits over 4.2 innings -- his second straight start surrendering at least seven runs in fewer than five innings -- so it may have been a lingering issue that he's been dealing with. Pat Dean will slot into the rotation and start Friday in his place, and it's unclear as of now if Santiago will be forced to miss more than just one turn through the rotation.

Carson Smith RP | BOS
Red Sox's Carson Smith: Will begin throwing in September
Smith (forearm) will begin throwing in three weeks, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
Smith underwent Tommy John surgery in May, and this would represent the first round of activity since then. The reliever will still likely need to miss a portion of the 2017 season, but if he is indeed able to begin throwing before the end of this season, it will allow the 26-year-old to continue ramping up the activity level as he progresses over the offseason.

Joe Kelly RP | LAD
Red Sox's Joe Kelly: Waiting to return to majors
Kelly has allowed one run on five hits without a walk while striking out 11 in eight innings since he was optioned back to Triple-A Pawtucket at the beginning of August.
Given the precarious state of Boston's relievers leading up to closer Craig Kimbrel, Kelly seems like he could help, but while manager John Farrell acknowledged to Peter Abraham of the Boston Globe how well he's throwing, the manager added "there are some limitations how we get him here right now." The implication being that Kelly will come back to Boston when rosters expand Sept. 1.

Sean Manaea SP | NYM
Athletics' Sean Manaea: Locks down Cleveland for fifth win
Manaea (5-8) allowed one run on three hits and two walks with eight strikeouts over seven innings in a win Tuesday over Cleveland.
This was one of Manaea's best starts, as it was just the fourth time he has completed seven innings and the third time he has reached eight strikeouts. Manaea's only mistake was a solo home run in the sixth inning by Chris Gimenez. He has to keep the ball in the yard to make the next step -- Manaea has allowed eight home runs over his last six starts, which is why he has a mediocre 4.33 ERA despite a brilliant 33:10 K:BB over 37.1 innings.

Craig Kimbrel RP | KC
Red Sox's Craig Kimbrel: Nails down 23rd save Tuesday in Tampa
Kimbrel struck out two in a clean ninth to earn his 23rd save of the season Tuesday against the Rays.
The right-hander has been locked in this month, going a perfect 5-for-5 in save chances while adding a win and a hold to his August resume. He's given up just one run over his last eight appearances while striking out 16 over 8.1 innings

Tony Zych RP | NYY
Mariners' Tony Zych: Returns from DL
Zych (shoulder) was activated from the DL on Tuesday.
Before injuring his shoulder, Zych had posted a solid 3.00 ERA and 1.25 WHIP for over 12 innings. Fortunately, he returned to his form while on his rehab assignment. Zych threw four hitless rehab innings across Seattle's minor league affiliates, striking out six batters along the way. Upon Zych's activation, Stefen Romero was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.
-
Ben Heller RP | CHC
Yankees' Ben Heller: Recalled from Triple-A
Heller was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.
With Anthony Swarzak being placed on the DL, the Yankees opted to bring Heller back to the big club for additional bullpen depth. Heller has yet to pitch in an MLB game, but has been fantastic over 49 games at the Triple-A and Double-A levels this season. After said games, Heller owns a 1.69 ERA and 0.83 WHIP.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Saves 10th game against Yankees
Diaz saved his 10th game despite allowing a hit and a walk in Monday's game against the Yankees.
Diaz has been playing with fire in his last three outings, as he has allowed three runs on five hits and five walks but has managed to escape with saves all three times. His amazing stuff, headlind by a 97.1 mph average fastball, gives him lots of room for error. Diaz struck out a batter Monday, giving him an amazing 66 strikeouts in just 36 innings.
