Karl Kauffmann RP | COL
Rockies' Karl Kauffmann: Recalled, but unavailable to start
Kauffmann, who was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque, isn't expected to start Wednesday's game against the Reds after he was unable to arrive in Cincinnati ahead of the 12:35 p.m. ET start time, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
With Wednesday's projected starter, Connor Seabold, revealed to be dealing with an arm injury following an evaluation Tuesday, the Rockies scrambled to call up Kauffman as a potential replacement in the rotation for the series finale in Cincinnati. However, with Kauffmann unable to make his travel arrangements work on short notice, the Rockies will now turn to reliever Jake Bird to start Wednesday's contest in what amounts to a bullpen day.

Brent Suter RP | LAA
Rockies' Brent Suter: Suffers oblique injury
Suter sustained an oblique injury during his relief appearance in Tuesday's 8-6 loss to the Reds, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
The injury didn't seem to affect Suter from a performance standpoint, as he worked around a base hit to turn in a scoreless eighth inning. However, Suter seemingly tweaked his side at some point during the game, and he's now likely to get at least a couple of days off before the Rockies assess whether he's fit to rejoin the bullpen during the club's upcoming weekend series with the Angels. Suter can be viewed as day-to-day for the time being, though he still appears to be a candidate for the 15-day injured list.

Jacob Bird RP | NYY
Rockies' Jake Bird: Starting Wednesday's game
Bird is slated to serve as the Rockies' starting pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Reds in Cincinnati, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Bird will get the starting nod Wednesday after the Rockies had to adjust their plans for the series finale in Cincinnati for a third time. Kyle Freeland was initially slated to take the hill Wednesday before being pushed back to the weekend after falling ill, and now Connor Seabold won't be able to start Wednesday as anticipated after picking up an arm injury. The Rockies recalled Karl Kauffmann from Triple-A Albuquerque, but he won't be able to arrive in Cincinnati in time for the game and isn't expected to be available in bulk relief, per Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com. As a result, the Rockies may be left with few choices other than to let Bird work as long as he can remain effective, even though he hasn't covered more than three innings in any of his 35 relief appearances on the season.

Silvino Bracho RP | CIN
Reds' Silvino Bracho: Called up from Louisville
The Reds selected Bracho's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.
Bracho will join the Reds ahead of their series finale with the Rockies, returning to the big-league roster after being designated for assignment in late May. The right-hander has compiled a 5.06 ERA and 1.31 WHIP with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings in four appearances with Cincinnati this season. He'll help replace Casey Legumina (shoulder) in the major-league bullpen after Legumina was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday.

Alan Busenitz RP | CIN
Reds' Alan Busenitz: Called up Wednesday
Busenitz was recalled from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.
Busenitz will return to the major-league roster after being sent down May 26, replacing Casey Legumina (shoulder) in the Reds' bullpen after Legumina was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday. Busenitz has produced a 4.50 ERA and 2.00 WHIP with three strikeouts over four innings in four appearances with Cincinnati in 2023.

Casey Legumina RP | TB
Reds' Casey Legumina: Back on 15-day IL
Legumina was placed on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right shoulder pain.
Legumina just returned from the 15-day IL on June 11 following a bout with an ankle injury, but he'll now be unavailable for a couple weeks while nursing a sore throwing shoulder. The Reds called up Alan Busenitz from Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday to replace Legumina in their bullpen.

Derek Law RP | ARI
Reds' Derek Law: Throws live bullpen session
Law (elbow) threw a live bullpen session Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Law has been out since May 19 while nursing an elbow sprain, but he could be set to launch a rehab assignment in the near future. The reliever has produced a 2.57 ERA and 1.48 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 21 innings spanning 20 appearances -- including two starts -- with the Reds this season.

Joel Payamps RP | ATL
Brewers' Joel Payamps: Jumps into setup role
Payamps tossed a scoreless eighth inning and picked up a hold in Tuesday's 7-5 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Payamps worked the eighth inning just once all season prior to June 13, but with Peter Strzelecki going through a rough patch and Matt Bush (shoulder) on the injured list, manager Craig Counsell used Payamps in the setup spot that night and twice since. Payamps has allowed five runners to reach base over the three frames he has worked in front of closer Devin Williams, but he also kept the opponent off the scoreboard all three times. As such, expect Payamps to get the ball next time the Brewers need to protect a tight lead in the eighth.

Alexis Diaz RP | TEX
Reds' Alexis Diaz: Picks up another save Tuesday
Diaz allowed one run on two hits and two walks while striking out three in the ninth to earn the save over the Rockies on Tuesday.
Diaz did not have a sharp outing but was still able to escape with his sixth save since June 11 and his 20th of the season. Tuesday's save vaulted him into a tie for third as Diaz continues to establish himself as one of the league's top closers. The 26-year-old now holds a 2.03 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 55:15 K:BB in 31 innings. He's thrown 51 pitches over the last two days and should not be expected to be available to pitch Wednesday, likely leaving closing duties up to either Buck Farmer or Lucas Sims.

Andrew Chafin RP | CIN
Diamondbacks' Andrew Chafin: Rolls ankle
Chafin rolled his ankle during batting practice prior to Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Michael McDermott of SI.com reports.
Chafin sustained the injury while shagging flyballs. He was scheduled to throw a bullpen session before the game, and it's unclear if he was available Tuesday. Chafin didn't pitch in Tuesday's 7-5 loss to Milwaukee.
