Diaz surrendered the lead in the ninth on a sacrifice fly, ending an MLB-best streak of 27 straight saves, but the Reds offense bailed their closer out in extra innings, so there was no harm done. Diaz still boasts elite numbers (2.00 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 14.2 K/9) across 37 appearances this season and is now 22-for-23 in save opportunities. He remains one of the best relief pitchers in the game and is a top-tier fantasy option moving forward.

Hoeing (1-2) yielded seven runs on six hits and two walks over 3.2 innings Friday, striking out one and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Hoeing stumbled out of the gate, coughing up three runs in the first inning followed by two more in the third. Prior to Friday's brutal outing, he'd allowed only nine earned runs through 35 innings on the year. His ERA shot up from 2.31 to 3.72 as a result. It's unclear if Miami will give him another turn in the rotation or push him back to the bullpen.

Manaea (3-3) earned the win Friday over the Mets, allowing a hit and striking out one in a scoreless inning.

The southpaw became the pitcher of record after Patrick Bailey hit a go-ahead home run in the eighth inning. It's a positive end to an otherwise rough month for Manaea, who has allowed nine runs over 15.2 innings across six appearances. He's been used in a traditional relief role over his last three outings after serving as a primary pitcher earlier in the month. For the season, Manaea has a 5.68 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 67:22 K:BB through 52.1 innings over 18 appearances (six starts). With the Giants' rotation nearing full health again, he'll likely remain a reliever for the foreseeable future.

Doval issued one walk in a scoreless inning Friday, striking out one and earning a save over the Mets.

Doval needed just 11 pitches to finish off the 5-4 win. He's now converted six straight save chances after a rare misstep June 16 against the Dodgers. Doval lowered his ERA to a stellar 1.89 ERA with a 53:17 K:BB through 38 frames.

Johnson allowed a hit and struck out one without walking a batter in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Friday's 8-5 win over the Tigers.

Johnson had yielded the bulk of recent save opportunities to Justin Lawrence, but the latter hasn't pitched since Wednesday. This was Johnson's fifth consecutive scoreless outing, and it earned him his first save since June 13. The right-hander has a 6.00 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 49:20 K:BB with 13 saves and two holds through 33 innings this season, but Johnson will likely remain in the late-inning mix despite his shaky numbers after being the closer for the first two months of the season.

Robertson was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The right-hander was sent to Triple-A to make room for Daniel Hudson (knee), who was activated off the 60-day injured list. Robertson showed some decent flashes during his short time in the Los Angeles bullpen, but a 9.39 ERA and 2.22 WHIP in 7.2 innings suggests there's more work to be done before he'll be a reliable option.

Colorado placed Carasiti on the 15-day injured list Friday with right shoulder inflammation.

Carasiti has struggled to a 7.06 ERA, 1.71 WHIP and 14:11 K:BB in 21.2 innings this season out of the Rockies' bullpen. He'll be sidelined through the All-Star break at the very least.

Colorado selected Blach's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

Blach made the Rockies' Opening Day bullpen this spring but was cut loose before the end of April after allowing 13 runs -- 10 earned -- over 11 innings. He'll get another shot in a low-leverage role.

Hudson (knee) is expected to be activated from the 60-day injured list ahead of Friday's contest against the Royals, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Hudson has struggled with multiple setbacks as he recovered from a torn ACL suffered last June, forcing him to remain on the sidelines for the whole 2023 campaign to this point, but he now appears ready to rejoin LA's bullpen. The right-hander produced a 2.22 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 30 strikeouts, nine holds and five saves over 24.1 innings in 25 appearances with the Dodgers in 2022 and will likely return to a high-leverage role once he's up to speed.
