Varland cleared waivers and has been returned to the Dodgers.

The Rule 5 pick was designated for assignment by the Brewers following a hideous performance last week and now is back in his previous organization. Varland was previously used as both a starter and reliever during his time with the Dodgers and it's unclear what role they might stick him in now, but he'll likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Miller was recalled from Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers on Monday.

Miller has been sharp in his chances with the big club this season, allowing one run over 4.2 innings. He figures to slide into a middle relief role.

Moreta (1-1) took the loss Sunday against the Diamondbacks. He allowed an unearned run on a hit while striking out one over one-third of an inning.

Moreta replaced Roansy Contreras to start the sixth inning, striking out Corbin Carroll before Christian Walker reached on a Ke'Bryan Hayes throwing error. Walker would score on Lourdes Gurriel's base hit, giving Arizona a 4-3 lead and eventually handing Moreta his first loss. Overall, the 27-year-old Moreta has been excellent for Pittsburgh. He still hasn't allowed an earned run since April 26, a span of 10.2 innings. He sports a 2.14 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 31:12 K:BB across 21 innings this season.

Strahm (4-3) earned the win Sunday against the Cubs. He allowed a walk while striking out two in a scoreless inning.

It's Strahm's second win since he was moved to the bullpen. The 31-year-old southpaw lowered his ERA to 2.73 with an impressive 0.97 WHIP and 47:10 K:BB through 33 innings. Strahm has earned a high-leverage role with the Phillies, though he's still behind Craig Kimbrel and Gregory Soto in the save hierarchy while Jose Alvarado (elbow) is sidelined.

Brebbia is scheduled to serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Monday's game at Minnesota, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Manager Gabe Kapler hasn't formally named a bulk reliever to work behind Brebbia, but based on recent usage, Sean Manaea and Tristan Beck appear to be the most logical options to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen, if needed. Brebbia hasn't recorded more than five outs in any of his 21 appearances on the season and likely won't be tasked with working more than once through the batting order, if that.

Ginkel allowed one walk and struck out one over a scoreless two innings in Sunday's 8-3 win over Pittsburgh.

Ginkel closed out the game, pitching the eighth and ninth innings. It was the third consecutive multi-inning appearance for Ginkel, who enters games any time between the fifth and ninth innings. The right-hander, who was rocked by the Dodgers on April 1, has a 1.93 ERA over 18.2 innings since.

Raley threw a perfect inning to earn a save over Cleveland during the second game of Sunday's doubleheader. He recorded a hold with a scoreless frame during the first game.

Raley needed just five pitches to quickly finish the 2-1 victory Sunday night. He's turned in four shutout frames with a 3:3 K:BB since returning from the injured list May 14. He lowered his ERA to 3.52 with a save and 10 holds across 15.1 innings this season.

Walker (1-0) allowed three hits in a scoreless inning to pick up the win Sunday over the Marlins.

Walker pitched the sixth inning in his major-league debut, alternating between outs and singles. He stayed on to begin the seventh but was pulled after giving up a leadoff single. Walker pitched to a 0.89 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB over 20.1 innings across 15 appearances (three starts) for Triple-A Sacramento prior to his call-up Friday. He'll likely serve as a low-leverage reliever while he's with the Giants.

Doval allowed an unearned run on two hits and struck out one in one inning to earn a save in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Marlins.

Doval wasn't particularly sharp, but he had a three-run cushion when he entered the contest. He's allowed multiple baserunners in two of his last four outings, but he's still converted nine straight save attempts in an otherwise solid May. The closer has 12 saves overall, and he's pitched to a 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB through 21.2 innings this season.

Kimbrel picked up the save in Sunday's 2-1 victory over the Cubs. He allowed a run on a hit and a walk while striking out two over one inning.

Kimbrel's four-game scoreless run was snapped by Christopher Morel's two-out homer Sunday, but he hung on to seal the 2-1 win and log his fifth save of the season. The 34-year-old Kimbrel is a perfect 5-for-5 in save opportunities despite a 6.35 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 17 innings this year. He'll continue to split closing duties with Gregory Soto while Jose Alvarado (elbow) is sidelined.
