Castano allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks across 3.1 innings during Tuesday's 9-8 win over Colorado. He had three strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

Castano threw only 44 of his 70 pitches for strikes and exited during the top of the fourth inning with the Marlins trailing 4-0, but the offense rallied for five runs in the bottom of the frame to take him off the hook for the loss. The left-hander delivered 6.2 scoreless innings during his first start of the season last week, and he'll likely remain in Miami's rotation for at least another turn since Edward Cabrera (elbow) and Cody Poteet (elbow) remain on the injured list.

Thompson (1-0) walked one and struck out two without allowing a hit in 1.2 scoreless innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Brewers.

Jack Flaherty completed only three innings in his second start of the year, with Thompson serving as a de facto piggyback reliever. In 8.2 innings of relief across three outings this season, Thompson has allowed one run, three hits and two walks with nine strikeouts. His lone bad appearance was his only start, but with the Cardinals' rotation essentially healthy, the southpaw is likely to work out the bullpen for the foreseeable future. Thompson owns a 3.95 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 11:4 K:BB across 13.2 innings overall.

Leiter was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Leiter will join the Cubs on Tuesday for his fourth stint in the majors this season. The 31-year-old has appeared in seven games (three starts) and has a 6.23 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16:9 K:BB over 17.1 innings.

Kilian was optioned to Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The 25-year-old surrendered seven runs (five earned) over 2.1 innings Monday and will now make his way back to the minors. Kilian is Chicago's top pitching prospect, but he struggled across his first three starts in the majors with a 10.32 ERA, 2.03 WHIP and 9:12 K:BB in 11.1 innings.

Ferguson was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday due to left forearm tendinitis.

Even though Ferguson landed on the IL a day ago, the Dodgers didn't provide an explanation for why he was deactivated until Tuesday. While tendinitis typically isn't a serious injury, it's less than ideal that Ferguson is dealing with another arm-related issue after undergoing Tommy John surgery in September 2020. The Dodgers will likely re-evaluate him after a few days of rest before determining if he's ready to resume throwing or if he needs a longer shutdown period.

Doval (2-3) allowed a run on two hits and a walk with one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss Monday versus Atlanta.

Doval entered a 1-1 game in the ninth inning, but he pitched himself into trouble with a walk and a single. He gave up a two-out walkoff single to Orlando Arcia to end the close game. Doval's scoreless streak came to a close at 8.2 frames. The Giants' closer has been mostly steady in June while maintaining a 2.70 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB while logging 11 saves in 13 chances. This was likely a bump in the road for the right-hander, but he had a stretch in late May and early June of allowing runs in four straight appearances, so it will be important that he doesn't let this turn into a slump.

Ferguson was placed on the 15-day injured list Monday due to an undisclosed injury, retroactive to June 17, Matthew Moreno of Dodger Blue reports.

The nature of Ferguson's injury is unclear at this time, but he'll remain out until early July at the minimum. The Dodgers have yet to make a corresponding move.

Rogers struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Monday's 4-1 win over the Diamondbacks.

Rogers had no trouble protecting a three-run lead Monday. He regained sole possession of the major-league lead in saves (21) after the Brewers' Josh Hader briefly tied him earlier Monday. It's been a somewhat shaky June for Rogers, as he's allowed six runs (five earned) in six innings, but three of his last four outings have been clean. Overall, he has a 2.89 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 31:6 K:BB while converting 21 of 24 save chances across 28 innings.

Hader allowed a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Monday's 2-0 win over the Cardinals.

Hader hadn't pitched since last Sunday after welcoming a son to his family last week. The 28-year-old was as dominant as ever in picking up his 20th save in 21 tries, facing the minimum three batters after Brendan Donovan was thrown out trying to stretch a single into a double. it appears Hader won't let the one blemish on his game log (June 7 versus the Phillies) spiral into a slump. The Brewers' closer has a 0.87 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across 20.2 innings this year.

Kilian (0-2) allowed seven runs (five earned) on three hits across 2.1 innings to take the loss Monday against the Pirates. He walked five and struck out three.

Kilian couldn't find the plate Monday, as he walked five of the 15 batters he faced and also uncorked a wild pitch. Through 11.1 innings so far this season, the 25-year-old now has 11 walks. Kilian is considered the Cubs' top pitching prospect, though it seems like he still needs some refinement before taking off at the MLB level. For now, he's slated to start again Saturday against the Cardinals, but he may return to Triple-A Iowa at some point.
