Beede surrendered two runs on three hits and a walk with one strikeout over 1.1 innings in Wednesday's 9-1 loss to the Dodgers.

Beede has allowed runs in four of his six outings this season, and he's given up multiple hits in each of his last five appearances. The right-hander now has a 4.66 ERA, 2.07 WHIP and 4:6 K:BB through 9.2 innings. He should continue to see only low-leverage work as he attempts to cut down on the number of baserunners he allows.

Hader said he's no longer experiencing mid-back spasms and will be available out of the bullpen for Thursday's series finale with the Reds, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers have stayed away from Hader since April 27 while he tended to the injury, allowing Devin Williams to temporarily step in as the team's closer. In spite of the missed time, Hader still enters Thursday's action tied for second in the majors with 10 saves on the season. The three-time All-Star should immediately reclaim closing duties now that he's healthy again.

Martin allowed two runs on three hits and four walks while striking out three over four relief innings in Wednesday's 8-7 win over Miami.

Martin didn't wake up knowing he'd be the bulk-inning pitcher Wednesday, but he was needed after Madison Bumgarner was ejected after the first inning. Forced to warm up on short notice, Martin walked two and gave up a single to the first three batters faced, and the first two runners eventually scored. The right-hander settled in after that, providing critical relief and allowing Arizona's bats to impact the game. It was the fourth time in five outings that Martin has thrown two innings or more.

Bard earned the save against the Nationals on Wednesday, pitching a perfect ninth inning during which he struck out two batters.

Bard's inning got off to a promising start when he struck out Juan Soto, and the reliever closed things out from there by retiring the next two batters. The Rockies' closing situation wasn't set in stone entering the season, but Bard has run with the position by converting seven of eight opportunities. His numbers certainly look like those of a dominant closer, as he has posted a 2.00 ERA, 0.56 WHIP and 13:0 K:BB across nine innings.

Sims gave up five runs in two-thirds of inning during Wednesday's 18-4 loss to the Brewers. He gave up one hit while walking four batters.

Sims was in a "get-work" outing, having last pitched Saturday and then five days prior to that. If the Reds beat the odds and actually have a save chance Thursday, there's a reasonable likelihood that Sims won't be available after throwing 34 pitches Wednesday.

Peters allowed one hit and one walk while striking out four across 3.1 scoreless innings in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Tigers. He did not factor into the decision.

Peters served as the opener, with Bryse Wilson working behind him in a piggyback appearance. This was the second time that Peters has preceded Wilson in this role, the first coming in a two-inning stint on April 27. The appearance continued Peters' strong start to the season, as he has yet to allow an earned run across 16.2 frames while striking out 13 and walking six.

Manager Dave Roberts said Kimbrel will be unavailable for Wednesday's game against the Giants, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Kimbrel needed 26 pitches to record the save in Tuesday's 3-1 victory, so he won't be available out of the bullpen Wednesday. Daniel Hudson is the likely option to step in for a potential save situation since Blake Treinen (shoulder) is on the injured list.

Hernandez gave up five runs on five hits and three walks across four innings during Wednesday's 8-7 loss to the Diamondbacks. He had three strikeouts and didn't factor in the decision.

Hernandez cruised through the first three frames but fell apart in the fourth, as Arizona rallied for five runs on four hits and three walks. He threw 48 of his 78 pitches for strikes and generated only seven swinging strikes. It's the third time through five starts the right-hander has failed to complete at least five innings. Hernandez has a 6.66 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings, and he lines up for a rematch with the Diamondbacks on Monday.

Bender (0-3) was charged with a blown save and the loss Wednesday against Arizona after giving up two runs on two hits with two strikeouts and zero walks during the ninth inning.

The right-hander entered for the top of the ninth with a 7-6 lead and struck out the first batter he faced, but Daulton Varsho reached on a single and Pavin Smith followed with a two-run home run. Bender came into the contest having converted four straight saves while not allowing a run in his past four appearances, but he got bit by the Diamondbacks. The 27-year-old is 6-for-8 in save opportunities and has a 5.79 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 8:2 K:BB across 9.1 innings this season, and his run as Miami's primary closer could be near an end with Dylan Floro (shoulder) on a rehab assignment and close to returning from the injured list.

Abbott was claimed off waivers by the Nationals on Wednesday, Jessica Camerato of MLB.com reports.

Abbott was traded from the Cubs to the Giants on April 21, but he was recently cast off San Francisco's 40-man roster. He'll land with the Nationals and has been optioned to Triple-A Rochester to begin his time with the organization. He's allowed three runs while striking out six in six innings over two Triple-A starts this year.
