The Marlins placed Pop on the 10-day injured list Saturday with right middle finger soreness, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The righty last appeared in a game Tuesday, striking out a pair in two scoreless innings. It's unclear how long Pop will be sidelined with the sore finger, but it figures to be a fairly brief IL stint unless he's dealing with a more significant injury.

The Marlins recalled Guzman from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Guzman was reinstated and optioned to Triple-A on Friday after being out since the end of spring training with an elbow injury. He pitched well on his rehab assignment, posting a 3.52 ERA and 20:9 K:BB in 15.1 innings of relief. He'll join the big-league bullpen and replace Zach Pop (finger) on the 26-man roster.

The Cubs recalled Megill from Triple-A Iowa on Saturday, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The righty has struggled mightily in the big leagues this season, appearing in 12 games for the Cubs and posting a 13.50 ERA in 8.2 innings. He most recently appeared in a game Tuesday, after which he was optioned to Iowa. Megill replaces Adbert Alzolay (hamstring), who was placed on the 10-day injured list.

The Cubs placed Alzolay on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left hamstring strain, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

The strain is considered minor, but it shortened his poor outing Friday, when he allowed six runs on five hits and a walk in 1.1 innings. It's unclear how many starts Alzolay will miss while his hamstring recovers. Trevor Megill was recalled from Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move Saturday.

The Phillies recalled Medina from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday.

The righty has posted a 4.94 ERA and 40:17 K:BB in 51 innings as a starter with Triple-A this season. Medina hasn't pitched more than three innings in a game since the beginning of July, so he figures to be a multi-inning relief option for the Phillies going forward.

Rogers allowed a hit in a scoreless inning to earn a hold in Friday's 5-4 win over Colorado.

The right-hander successfully protected a three-run lead in the eighth inning before Jake McGee nearly made a mess of things in the ninth. With McGee struggling, Rogers may have a chance to work back into the closer role, although Zack Littell has also surfaced as an emergency stopper recently. Through 55 innings, Rogers has a 1.80 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 33:9 K:BB, 11 saves and 20 holds, although his FIP of 3.33 suggests he may not be immune from regression before the end of the season.

Jansen (2-4) picked up the win in Friday's 6-5 extra-inning victory over the Mets, giving up an unearned run on zero hits and two walks in two scoreless innings. He struck out one.

After keeping the game knotted a 4-4 in the bottom of the ninth, Jansen came back out for the 10th and allowed the phantom runner to score. Fortunately, the Dodgers had scored twice in the top of the frame. The appearance was the longest of the season for the veteran closer, and he hadn't been asked to get more than three outs since June 9. After taking a 1.24 ERA into the All-Star break, Jansen had a rough start to the second half that he only now appears to be shaking off -- despite not giving up an earned run in his last four appearances, he has a 9.00 ERA over his last 10 innings.

Littell got the save in Friday's 5-4 win over the Rockies, recording the final out of the ninth inning via strikeout.

San Francisco entered the ninth with a 5-2 lead but closer Jake McGee served up a two-run home run and two more baserunners before Littell was called upon by manager Gabe Kapler. The 25-year-old needed just four pitches to dismiss C.J. Cron for his second save in three appearances, with a win sandwiched between them. Since being recalled Aug. 7, Littell is 1-0 with two saves and four strikeouts in 3.2 innings.

Smith allowed no hits and a walk while striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's win over the Nationals.

Smith was charged with the blown save when he allowed two runs in one inning during his last outing, and he encountered some trouble Friday by hitting the leadoff batter in the ninth inning before issuing a walk to bring the go-ahead run to the plate. The southpaw has now converted three of five save chances across six appearances in August, and he's recorded a 7.50 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in six innings during that time.

Alzolay was diagnosed with left hamstring tightness after he was removed from Friday's start against the Marlins, Russell Dorsey of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Alzolay exited Friday's contest with a trainer in the bottom of the second inning, but it's not yet clear whether the hamstring issue will force him to miss additional time. If the right-hander is able to make his next turn through the rotation, he tentatively lines up to start on the road against Cincinnati on Wednesday.
