Bard walked one and struck out one to record the save Wednesday against the Mariners.

Bard was called upon to record the final out of the game with the Rockies up by three. He walked the first batter he faced to bring the tying run to the plate, but struck out Jake Bauers to end the contest and record his 10th save of the season. It was a nice bounceback effort for Bard, as he had blown a save and taken a loss in his last two outings, respectively. Overall, he has a 4.15 ERA with a 38:13 K:BB across 30.1 innings.

Hader pitched a perfect inning and struck out two to earn the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Arizona.

Hader needed 17 pitches to complete the inning, but he got the job done cleanly. The closer is now 19-for-19 in save opportunities this year. He's pitched to a minuscule 0.59 ERA and 0.72 WHIP with a 52:11 K:BB across 30.2 innings.

Rainey (1-2) allowed two hits and a walk while striking out one in two-thirds of an inning, earning the win in Wednesday's 13-12 win over the Phillies.

The righty also had a blown save by letting both inherited runners score in the eighth inning. With the two outs, Rainey lowered his ERA to a still-alarming 7.54, though seven of his last eight appearances have been scoreless and he remains the second most-trusted option in the Nationals' bullpen while Daniel Hudson (elbow) is out.

Neris (1-4) took the loss after giving up two runs on three hits during the ninth inning to blow the save Wednesday against the Nationals. Manager Joe Girardi said after the game he'll take Thursday's scheduled off day to "think about" making a change at closer, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

The right-hander threw eight of 10 pitches for strikes, but he caught too much of the plate as Washington tallied two runs on three singles and a sacrifice bunt. Neris now has three blown saves in his past five appearances with six runs allowed over 4.1 innings during that stretch. He had a 1.90 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 29:8 K:BB while going 9-for-11 in save opportunities before his current struggles. Jose Alvarado and Sam Coonrod are likely to be in the mix for saves if Girardi opts to remove Neris from the closer's role.

Gsellman (lat) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

The 27-year-old landed on the injured list at the start of the week with a torn right lat and won't throw for six weeks, so the move to the 60-day IL won't affect his return timeline. Gsellman will be eligible for activation in late August.

The Mets optioned Diaz to Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

After starting his 2021 campaign with three consecutive scoreless outings, Diaz allowed three runs Tuesday in relief of Marcus Stroman (hip). Now, the righty and his 4.26 ERA head to Triple-A as one of a bevy of Mets transactions Wednesday.

Moore will start one of the games in Friday's doubleheader against the Mets, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The veteran southpaw was reinstated from the injured list Wednesday and will receive a starting opportunity in Friday's doubleheader. Moore has a 7.36 ERA, 1.91 WHIP and 17:11 K:BB across 18.1 innings with five homers allowed this season.

Hernandez (quadriceps) was cleared to resume light tossing and range-of-motion work earlier this week, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Hernandez was placed on the 60-day injured list shortly after exiting a June 3 start against the Pirates with a severe right quadriceps strain, so he won't be eligible to return to the active roster until early August at the soonest. He'll have multiple hurdles to clear in the recovery process, but the fact that Hernandez is already doing some activity is a positive sign for his recovery.

Guzman (elbow) is scheduled to pitch around five innings in his start Thursday in a simulated game at the Marlins' extended spring training site, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

The start could be Guzman's last at extended spring before he reports to an affiliate for the start of a rehab assignment. The 25-year-old right-hander currently occupies a spot on the Marlins' 60-day injured list, but he's unlikely to be a candidate to slot into the big-league rotation once reinstated. Instead, Guzman will likely be making regular starts for Triple-A Jacksonville whenever the Marlins deem him fully healthy.

Thompson was credited with a hold in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. He faced two batters, walking one and retiring the other on a fielder's choice.

The 23-year-old was summoned in a high-leverage situation in his first MLB outing, coming into the game in the eighth inning with a runner on first base and San Diego holding a two-run lead. He threw a wild pitch and then walked Max Muncy but got out of the inning by retiring AJ Pollock on a fielder's choice grounder. Thompson's 5.89 ERA and 1.33 WHIP this season at the Triple-A level aren't particularly impressive, so it would be a surprise if he's given consistent high-leverage opportunities with the big club despite Tuesday's successful debut.
