Neris earned the save Wednesday against the Dodgers after tossing a scoreless inning, although he hit two batters.

Neris got the save opportunity after blowing two straight chances. While he got the job done here, it wasn't a quiet outing by any means -- he hit two batters and at one point had the game-winning run at the plate. Despite those command issues, Neris only needed 10 pitches to get the job done and now has 10 saves on the season. The veteran reliever owns a 3.04 ERA and has gone 10-for-14 in save chances thus far.

Diaz retired the only batter he faced to earn the save Wednesday against the Cubs.

Diaz came on with two outs in the ninth inning and a runner on first base. He retired Willson Contreras on four pitches to record his 14th save of the season. Though this was a fairly straightforward outing, Diaz has performed well throughout the season by maintaining a 2.67 ERA and 37 strikeouts across 27 innings on the campaign.

Adams (2-1) allowed a run on a hit and a walk while failing to record an out, taking the loss Wednesday versus Colorado.

The right-hander walked Trevor Story on five pitches, and Story stole second base. Charlie Blackmon then hit a walkoff single that left Adams with his first loss of the season. He entered Wednesday with no runs allowed in his last five innings. Adams has a 2.25 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB across 24 innings this year. He's added five holds and a blown save across 30 appearances as a part of the bridge to closer Mark Melancon.

Hand gave up two hits over 1.2 scoreless innings while striking out one to record his 13th save of the season in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Pirates.

It was Hand's longest save of the season, and only the third time in 26 appearances he's recorded more than three outs. The veteran lefty has converted 10 straight saves, with his last blown save coming May 12. He sports a 2.96 ERA and 27:12 K:BB through 27.1 innings.

Estevez (2-0) allowed an unearned run and walked two in one inning, but he earned the win Wednesday versus San Diego.

The 28-year-old yielded the game-tying run on a Trent Grisham sacrifice fly after Wil Myers reached on an error in the ninth inning. While the right-hander took the blown save, Charlie Blackmon's walkoff single in the bottom of the ninth gave Estevez the win. Estevez had a streak of 11.1 innings without walking a batter, but he's now yielded four free passes in his last three innings. He has a 3.86 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, 19:8 K:BB, two saves and three holds across 18.2 innings.

Sims allowed a hit and struck out four over 1.1 innings to earn the save in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Milwaukee.

Pitching for the third time in four days, Sims was able to lock down his seventh save of the year with little trouble. The 27-year-old has a 4.23 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 43:14 K:BB across 27.2 innings this season. He remains the favorite for save chances, but Amir Garrett could get a ninth-inning assignment soon given Sims' heavy workload recently.

Castro (neck) should be available out of the bullpen Wednesday against the Cubs, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

The righty's neck stiffness has improved, according to manager Luis Rojas. Before suffering the injury and yielding two runs June 11, Castro had held opponents to just one run in his previous 8.2 innings as one of the Mets' most trusted late-inning relievers.

Helsley (4-4) struck out a batter in 1.1 perfect innings of relief, qualifying for the win in Wednesday's 1-0 victory over the Marlins.

Though his ERA, now 5.86, remains unimpressive, Helsley has now logged four consecutive scoreless relief appearances after yielding two runs in four of his previous six outings. The Cardinals have stuck with the righty as a late-inning option through his struggles and he's beginning to reward them with this string of effective performances. Interestingly, strikeouts have almost been a non-factor in Helsley's recent work, as he's fanned just two hitters in his last seven appearances.

Abbott was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The righty has yielded one earned run in 3.1 innings of relief with the big-league club this season. Abbott has struggled at Triple-A, though, pitching to a 6.03 ERA in 31.1 innings. He's been plagued by the long ball, allowing eight at that level in 2021. Abbott may be called upon for some middle-relief work Wednesday, as spot starter Robert Stock is not expected to have an extended outing against the Mets.

The Cubs optioned Megill to Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Gordon Wittenmyer of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The move was necessary to make room on the roster for Wednesday's spot starter Robert Stock. Megill has yet to allow a run in 2021, albeit in just three innings of relief work, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him back on the big-league roster in the near future, perhaps in the coming days if Stock's start isn't spectacular.
