Kinley was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Tuesday, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

Kinley made two relief appearances after being recalled Friday, allowing one run while walking four and punching out one over 1.2 innings of work. Elieser Hernandez will take Kinley's spot on the 25-man roster.

Hernandez has been recalled from Triple-A New Orleans and will start Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Andre Fernandez of The Athletic reports.

As anticipated, the Marlins have promoted Hernandez to take the place of Caleb Smith (hip). If Hernandez throws the ball well and Smith is required to miss another start while on the mend, it's possible that Hernandez could remain with the big club for another turn through the rotation.

Castillo (forearm) allowed two runs on two hits while recording one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning Monday as he took the loss in a rehab appearance for High-A Lake Elsinore.

The 23-year-old's second rehab appearance of the season was less than ideal from a production standpoint, but it's promising to see him back on the mound. His first appearance went much more smoothly, as he allowed no hits and recorded two strikeouts in one inning pitched. Castillo likely has several weeks until he returns to the Padres, but he's on the right track.

Woods-Richardson scattered three hits and a walk while striking out eight over five innings for Low-A Columbia on Monday.

The 18-year-old has had an up-and-down campaign in the Sally League, but he's on a roll right now. After allowing five runs in four consecutive starts to begin May, Woods-Richardson has posted a 2.50 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 26:2 K:BB over his last four outings and 18 innings. The Mets will be patient with the 2018 second-round pick, and pushing through adversity could be good for the right-hander in the long run. His upside is special, but he likely won't be on the big-league radar until late 2021 or 2022.

Webb struck out one with one walk through 1.1 scoreless innings to record his second save in a 13-7 win over the Pirates on Monday.

Webb entered the game with two outs in the eighth inning with two runners on base and quickly forced a groundout before delivering a scoreless ninth inning to nail down his second save. Webb has a 3-0 record with a 2.57 ERA through 21 innings.

Clarke didn't factor into the decision in Monday's 13-8 win over the Phillies, giving up four runs on six hits and two walks over 3.1 innings while striking out four.

Two of the Phillies' six hits off the right-hander left the yard, but Clarke actually got off a bit easy -- the teams combined for an MLB-record 13 homers on the night. He'll carry a 5.26 ERA and 19:9 K:BB through 25.2 innings into his next start Saturday, on the road against the Nats.

Hicks allowed a hit and struck out two batters in a scoreless inning to earn the save against Miami on Monday.

Hicks worked around a leadoff single by forcing a groundout before striking out the final two batters of the evening. The flame-throwing closer is now 13-of-14 in save chances this season with a 3.63 ERA and 27:11 K:BB.

Garcia (8-1) picked up a win for Double-A Hartford on Sunday, giving up three hits and one earned run over six innings, striking out four and walking three in a 3-1 victory for the Yard Goats.

It was a lights-out week for the right-hander, who nearly spearheaded a combined no-hitter in his last start before following that up with another excellent outing Sunday. Through 67 innings, he's now in the top five in the Eastern League in all three pitching triple crown categories with eight wins, a 1.88 ERA and 85 strikeouts.

Ponce de Leon will likely start Friday against the Mets, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.

Ponce de Leon is poised to make a spot start in place of the injured Adam Wainwright (hamstring), who was sent to the injured list Monday. The 27-year-old right-hander held his own in a spot start against the Brewers earlier in the year, allowing just one run on two hits and three walks while striking out seven across five innings of work. Depending on how long Wainwright is sidelined, Ponce de Leon could stick in the rotation for more than one turn, though he would likely have to impress during Friday's spot start in order to do so with Alex Reyes looming in the minors.

Reyes will make at least one more start at Triple-A Memphis before a promotion is considered, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.

The Cardinals have an opening in the starting rotation after Adam Wainwright (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Monday, though Daniel Ponce de Leon is expected to fill in for the time being. Reyes opened eyes with his latest start for Memphis on Saturday, racking up 10 strikeouts over four innings. If Reyes is able to show improved command in his upcoming start with the Redbirds, however, he'll be a strong candidate to be called up to the big leagues, per Saxon.
