The Pirates reinstated Santana (personal) from the bereavement list Sunday.

Pittsburgh optioned right-hander Kyle Nicolas to Triple-A Indianapolis to clear room on the 26-man roster for Santana, who had been away from the team since Tuesday while tending to a personal matter. David Bednar scooped up a save Wednesday, but he took a loss in a non-save situation Saturday, leaving the team's closing picture murky. Prior to going on bereavement leave, Santana had gone 3-for-3 in save chances while posting a 1.46 ERA and 0.89 WHIP in 12.1 innings.

The Padres optioned Morgan to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

He'll head back to the minors to clear a spot on the 26-man active roster for right-hander Stephen Kolek, who was recalled from Triple-A ahead of his scheduled start Sunday against the Pirates. Morgan didn't get the chance to make his MLB debut out of the San Diego bullpen after receiving his first big-league call-up from Double-A San Antonio last Sunday.

The Cardinals recalled Munoz from Triple-A Memphis ahead of Sunday's doubleheader with the Mets.

St. Louis optioned Munoz to Memphis on Saturday, but he's eligible to rejoin the club just one day later since he's being designated as the 27th man for the twin bill. Munoz will be available out of the bullpen before heading back to Triple-A.

Warren was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse and subsequently recalled to serve as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Cardinals.

The right-hander was called up Friday by the Mets and didn't appear in that game, so he'll stick around as bullpen depth for the twin bill. Warren has a 4.35 ERA and 14:9 K:BB across 10.1 innings with Triple-A Syracuse this season but has yet to make his 2025 debut in the majors.

The Mets transferred Young (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.

According to Will Sammon of The Athletic, Young is slated to undergo Tommy John surgery in the near future, which will end his season and likely keep him out until the second half of the 2026 campaign. By shifting him to the 60-day IL, the Mets were able to open up a spot on the 40-man roster for right-hander Blade Tidwell, who was called up from Triple-A Syracuse to start the first game of Sunday's doubleheader in St. Louis. Before being shut down in late April with the elbow injury, Young had been a key piece in the New York bullpen, gathering four holds while pitching to a 4.32 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 13:3 K:BB across 8.1 innings in 10 appearances.

Suarez earned the save in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Pirates, issuing one walk in a scoreless ninth inning without allowing a hit or recording a strikeout.

Suarez was brought in for the bottom of the ninth inning after Fernando Tatis scored the go-ahead run for the Padres in the top half of the frame. Suarez issued a four-pitch walk after a groundout, but he proceeded to get out of the inning on a lineout double play. Suarez leads the majors with 13 saves on as many opportunities while posting a 0.60 ERA, 0.60 WHIP and 16:4 K:BB across 15 innings.

Bednar (0-3) took the loss against the Padres on Saturday, allowing one run on one hit while striking out one batter in the ninth inning.

It wasn't a save situation for Bednar, who came in for the top of the ninth inning with the game tied 1-1. He allowed a double to Fernando Tatis, who later scored on a wild pitch to give the Padres the go-ahead run. Since being recalled by the Pirates on April 19, Bednar has allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while striking out nine over seven innings, and it's unclear whether he'll be the Pirates' go-to closer once Dennis Santana (personal) is activated from the bereavement list.

Walker earned the save in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Rockies, striking out one batter in a perfect ninth inning.

With Camilo Doval being deployed in the seventh inning, Walker was brought in for the ninth to preserve the Giants' three-run lead. Walker forced the first two batters to ground out and came away with the save after retiring Adael Amador on a seven-pitch strikeout. It was Walker's first save since April 19 as he and Camilo Doval have formed a closer committee after Walker initially opened the campaign as the clear No. 1 option.

The Phillies placed Ruiz on the 15-day injured list Saturday due to neck spasms, retroactive to May 1, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Ruiz may have tweaked his neck during his last outing against the Nationals on Wednesday, when he struck out two batters over 1.1 scoreless innings without allowing a hit or walk. He's eligible to return from the IL on May 16, but he'll undergo further testing to determine a clear timeline for his return. Ranger Suarez (back) was reinstated from the 15-day IL in a corresponding move.

The Pirates transferred Lawrence (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Lawrence was placed on the 15-day IL due to right elbow inflammation April 24. With his move to the 60-day injured list, the righty reliever isn't eligible to be activated until late June. Lawrence's move to the 60-day IL created room for fellow reliever Tanner Rainey, who had his contract selected from Triple-A on Saturday, to join the 40-man roster.
