  • Dylan Lee RP | ATL

Braves' Dylan Lee: Back in majors

Atlanta recalled Lee from Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.

Lee was dispatched to the minors on Monday, and he'll now be called upon to replace AJ Smith-Shawver, who was optioned to Triple-A. Lee has emerged as a reliable option out of the bullpen for Atlanta, logging a 2.00 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 36 innings, though the amount of talent in the team's bullpen has limited him to a middle-relief role.

  • Cardinals' Gordon Graceffo: Promoted for Game 2 start

The Cardinals recalled Graceffo from Triple-A Memphis to start Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Royals.

The 24-year-old will make the first start of his MLB career in Wednesday's nightcap while serving as the 27th man for the twin bill, and he should be sent back to Memphis after the contest. Graceffo has pitched to a 3.86 ERA and 71:31 K:BB over 77 innings at Triple-A this season and fared well during his MLB debut in late June, when he allowed one run across 4.1 innings of long relief versus the Reds.

  • Caleb Kilian RP | SF

Cubs' Caleb Kilian: Hits two innings in third rehab start

Kilian (shoulder) struck out two over two perfect innings in his rehab start Tuesday with High-A South Bend.

Kilian tossed 21 pitches in the outing while the Cubs continue to ease the right-hander along slowly as he makes his way back from a teres major strain in his right shoulder, an injury that has sidelined him since early March. The 27-year-old will likely require at least three more rehab starts to get fully stretched out for a traditional starter's workload, so he may not be activated until late July or early August. Once Kilian is reinstated, the Cubs could elect to option him to Triple-A Iowa, if the big club doesn't have an opening in its rotation.

  • Padres' Logan Gillaspie: Back in majors

The Padres recalled Gillaspie from Triple-A El Paso on Wednesday.

Since making his last appearance in the majors May 20, Gillaspie has logged a 2.76 ERA and 1.16 WHIP in 16.1 innings in Triple-A. He'll now rejoin the big-league club to give the Padres some additional bullpen depth heading into the All-Star break. Adam Mazur was optioned to El Paso in a corresponding move.

  • Ian Gibaut RP | CIN

Reds' Ian Gibaut: Throwing off mound next week

Gibaut (forearm) will throw a bullpen session next Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Gibaut will take the hill for the first time since he underwent anterior interosseous nerve release surgery in early May. He's been out all season and will need to make several rehab appearances before he comes off the 60-day injured list, but the Reds are hopeful that he'll be back in the bullpen by mid-August.

  • Ricky Vanasco RP | DET

Dodgers' Ricky Vanasco: Gets call-up to majors

The Dodgers recalled Vanasco from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Vanasco will join the Dodgers to provide some extra coverage in the bullpen through the All-Star break, with right-hander Bobby Miller heading to the minors in a corresponding move after lasting just four innings in his start in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Phillies. Up with the big club for the third time this season, Vanasco made just one two-inning appearance between his previous two stints with the Dodgers.

  • Ben Brown SP | CHC

Cubs' Ben Brown: Still experiencing symptoms

Cubs manager Craig Counsell said Wednesday that Brown is still experiencing lingering discomfort in his neck, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Brown has been shelved since mid-June with a neck strain and doesn't appear to have made much progress. He had been cleared to resume throwing in late June, but it's uncertain where he currently stands in his throwing program.

  • Adbert Alzolay RP | NYM

Cubs' Adbert Alzolay: Throws bullpen session

Alzolay (forearm) threw a 30-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Alzolay appears to have responded well to what was his first time throwing off a mound since he was shelved with a flexor strain in mid-May. Before coming off the 60-day injured list, Alzolay will need to make multiple rehab appearances in the minors, and it's unclear when he might be ready to begin an assignment.

  • Danny Young RP | ATL

Mets' Danny Young: Back in bullpen

The Mets recalled Young from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Young has posted a 5.11 ERA and 16:6 K:BB over 12.1 frames this season at the big-league level. He will give manager Carlos Mendoza a second lefty in the bullpen to pair with Jake Diekman.

  • Reed Garrett RP | NYM

Mets' Reed Garrett: Lands on IL with elbow inflammation

The Mets placed Garrett on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right elbow inflammation, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Garrett allowed three runs and retired just two batters in an appearance Tuesday versus the Nationals, which was his third outing in four days. He complained of forearm tightness after the appearance and will be sent for an MRI. Garrett will be eligible to return from the IL on July 25.
