  • Camilo Doval RP | NYY

Giants' Camilo Doval: Up to 11 saves

Doval earned the save in Saturday's 3-1 win over Texas, working around a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning.

Things got dicey for Doval in the ninth, as the Rangers got the tying runs into scoring position with two outs. However, the right-hander would coax a flyout off the bat of Leody Taveras to lock down his 11th save of the year and his second in as many days. The 26-year-old Doval lowered his ERA to 3.91 with a 1.58 WHIP and 31:18 K:BB across 25.1 innings this season.

  • Spencer Howard SP | CLE

Giants' Spencer Howard: Goes 4.2 innings again vs. Texas

Howard didn't factor into the decision Saturday against the Rangers, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out two.

Howard ran into some trouble in the first inning, walking the first two batters he faced before ultimately allowing a run on a sacrifice fly. While he'd hold the Rangers scoreless over his final 3.2 frames, Howard would wind up an out shy of qualifying for the win. The 27-year-old right-hander has yet to make it through five innings through his first three outings with the Giants this year, though he's allowed just three earned runs over 13.1 frames. Howard figures to remain in the rotation until Blake Snell (groin) is ready to return. He's currently lined up for a home matchup with the Angels in his next start.

  • Scott McGough RP | ATH

Diamondbacks' Scott McGough: Back in majors

The Diamondbacks recalled McGough from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

The Diamondbacks sent McGough to Reno in early May, and he has since recorded a 2.92 ERA and 1.57 WHIP across 12.1 innings for the Aces. He'll now return to Arizona to give the Snakes another fresh bullpen arm, replacing Humberto Castellanos.

  • Matt Carasiti RP | ATL

Rockies' Matt Carasiti: DFA'd by Rox

The Rockies designated Carasiti for assignment Saturday.

After getting lit up for five earned runs in just 1.1 innings over his last two appearances, Carasiti will be jettisoned from Colorado's active roster. He owns a 7.41 ERA and 1.89 WHIP through 58.1 career MLB innings and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed.

  • Geoff Hartlieb RP | ATH

    Rockies' Geoff Hartlieb: Contract selected

The Rockies selected Hartlieb's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Saturday.

Hartlieb failed to win a spot on the Rockies out of spring training, but the team will now give him a shot after he put up a 5.61 ERA and 1.66 WHIP through 33.2 innings in Triple-A. The 30-year-old owns a career 7.17 ERA through 70.1 major-league frames and will likely be given only low-leverage situations while with Colorado. Matt Carasiti was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

  • Braves' Daysbel Hernandez: Recalled to Atlanta

Atlanta recalled Hernandez from Triple-A Gwinnett on Saturday.

With Jimmy Herget (shoulder) headed for the injured list, Hernandez will rejoin Atlanta's bullpen to replenish the team's bullpen depth. The 27-year-old righty appeared in two games during his first big-league stint earlier in the year, throwing two scoreless innings while striking out one batter and walking one. He boasts a 2.29 ERA in 19.2 frames at Triple-A and figures to be used in middle relief while in Atlanta.

  • Jimmy Herget RP | COL

Braves' Jimmy Herget: Placed on injured list

Atlanta placed Herget on the 15-day injured list Saturday with right shoulder inflammation.

Herget struck out two batters and gave up a solo home run during his most recent outing Wednesday, and he appears to have come away from the game with a shoulder injury. He'll remain sidelined until at least June 21, and Daysbel Hernandez will come up from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill Herget's spot in the bullpen.

  • James Meeker RP | MIL

Brewers' James Meeker: Sent to Nashville

The Brewers optioned Meeker to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Meeker was selected to the active roster Friday and made his MLB debut during Milwaukee's win over Detroit, throwing a scoreless ninth inning. He'll now return to Triple-A after a brief stint in the majors to make room for Elieser Hernandez, though Meeker will retain a spot on the Brewers' 40-man roster. The 29-year-old righty owns a 3.32 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through 21.2 frames at Triple-A, and he could receive another call to Milwaukee later this season if the Brewers need a fresh bullpen arm.

  • Brewers' Elieser Hernandez: Signs with Brewers

Hernandez signed a one-year contract with the Brewers on Saturday.

Hernandez elected to become a free agent after being pushed off the Dodgers' 40-man roster, and he'll now look to carve out a role for himself in Milwaukee. The 29-year-old righty has given up nine runs in 9.2 innings this season. He worked primarily as a reliever during his brief stint with the Dodgers, but he will likely serve as a starter for a Brewers team that has dealt with a plethora of injuries to its rotation. In order to make room for Hernandez, James Meeker was optioned to Triple-A Nashville and DL Hall (knee) was transferred to the 60-day IL.

  • David Bednar RP | NYY

Pirates' David Bednar: Notches 13th save

Bednar earned the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Twins, allowing one hit while logging a strikeout in a scoreless ninth inning.

Bednar worked around a Byron Buxton one-out single to close out Pittsburgh's shutout victory, earning his 13th save this season. Bednar extended his scoreless streak to nine innings -- he's allowed just five hits and one walk in that span. Overall, the 29-year-old right-hander sports a 5.47 ERA with a 1.18 WHIP and 26:6 K:BB across 26.1 innings this season.
