Tarnok (hip) recently received a cortisone injection and could progress to pitching off a mound next week, the Associated Press reports.

Tarnok recently received an MRI, and the cortisone shot may have been the prescribed method of treatment that emerged from that evaluation. The fact the right-hander appears to be trending towards starting a throwing program is encouraging, but Tarnok still needs some time before getting into any action with Triple-A Las Vegas.

The Rangers placed Burke on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a broken right hand, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Burke broke his hand after punching a wall following his appearance Friday, during which he surrendered four earned runs across two-thirds of an inning. He's likely in line for an extended stay on the injured list, though the injury is to his non-throwing hand. The Rangers selected Austin Pruitt's contract from Triple-A Round Rock to fill Burke's spot on the active roster.

Curry (illness) struck out one and allowed one earned run on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in his second rehab start with Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Curry threw 59 pitches during the outing and looks poised to return from the 15-day injured list during the Guardians' upcoming series in Boston that begins Monday. Though Curry looked poised to begin the season in the Cleveland bullpen before falling victim to a viral illness, he could get a chance to slot in the rotation if he returns from the IL during the upcoming week. A doubleheader Saturday with the Yankees creates a temporary need for a sixth starter, and Curry could be called upon to fill the void either Tuesday or Wednesday in Boston.

Hentges (finger) is scheduled to resume throwing live batting practice sessions early next week, MLB.com reports.

Hentges had initially been slated to face hitters Friday, but the live session ended up getting pushed back due to poor weather in Cleveland. Once Hentges throws at least two BP sessions, he'll presumably head out on a minor-league rehab assignment. The 27-year-old reliever opened the season on the 15-day injured list due to left middle finger inflammation.

The Guardians will recall Parsons from Triple-A Columbus and designate him as their 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader versus the Yankees, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Parsons will be available only for the second game of the twin bill and is expected to be returned to Columbus immediately after the doubleheader concludes. If Parsons pitches in Game 2, it would mark his Guardians debut after Cleveland acquired him from Toronto on Wednesday.

The Rays optioned Waguespack to Triple-A Durham on Saturday.

Waguespack will be squeezed off the active roster as Tyler Alexander returns from the bereavement list Saturday. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 5.40 ERA and 2.30 WHIP across 10 innings through four appearances and may return to Tampa Bay later this season should the Rays' pitching depth be tested again.

Gallegos (2-0) earned the win Friday over the Diamondbacks, allowing two runs on a hit and a walk while striking out two over 1.1 innings.

Gallegos was called on in the fifth inning after Steven Matz got into a jam, and Gallegos ultimately allowed a game-tying home run to Eugenio Suarez. That was the extent of the damage, as Gallegos settled down for a scoreless sixth inning and picked up the win when the Cardinals took the lead for good in the seventh. The right-hander has allowed at least one run in three of his seven appearances so far, pitching to a 5.40 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 9:3 K:BB over 6.2 innings. He's added a save and two holds, but manager Oliver Marmol is no longer using a closer-by-committee approach, so Gallegos is unlikely to see as many save chances as in previous years.

Kuhnel was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Saturday.

Kuhnel gave up four earned runs in two innings against the Rangers on Friday, which punched his ticket back to Triple-A. Shawn Dubin (forearm) was activated from the injured list in a corresponding move.

He only ended up missing the first 16 days of the season with a forearm strain. Dubin should pitch in low-to-mid leverage spots out of Houston's bullpen.

Reid-Foley (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Brooklyn on Sunday, Will Sammon of The Athletic reports.

A right shoulder impingement has kept Reid-Foley on the shelf since the beginning of the season, but he now seems ready to test his shoulder in a game setting. It's unclear how many rehab outings the Mets want him to make before returning him to the major-league bullpen, but the 28-year-old's assignment will likely move to a higher-level affiliate if Sunday's appearance goes well.
