Avila allowed seven runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two over 2.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Monday.

Avila was not up for the challenge Monday, giving up a run in each of the first two innings before completely falling apart in the third. Aside from a sharp outing versus the Phillies last week, Avila hasn't shown much as a starter, allowing 18 runs (13 earned) over 16.2 innings across his last four appearances. He's at a 3.63 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 40:22 K:BB through 39.2 innings over 11 outings (five starts) this season. If he starts again, he's lined up to face the Athletics on the road this weekend.

Clase (2-9) failed to record an out Monday versus the Giants, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits to take a blown save and the loss.

Clase gave up back-to-back RBI singles to Blake Sabol and LaMonte Wade, surrendering the one-run lead the Guardians had taken in the top of the 10th inning. This was Clase's second blown save in his last three appearances, and he's up to 11 blown saves while converting a major-league leading 39 saves this season. He's at a 3.15 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 58:15 K:BB through 66.2 innings. Despite his struggles this year, the Guardians have stood by the 25-year-old in the closer role throughout the campaign, and it seems unlikely he'd lose the gig this late in the year with the team's playoff hopes already quite faint.

Jackson (2-2) allowed an unearned run on a hit and two walks while striking out one over one inning, earning the win Monday over the Guardians.

Jackson was shaky in the 10th inning but limited the damage to an Andres Gimenez RBI single. The Giants rallied for two runs in their half of the frame to walk it off. Since the start of August, Jackson has allowed 10 runs (eight earned) over 17 innings with a 22:12 K:BB in that span. He's at a 3.14 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 37:15 K:BB with four holds and two blown saves through 28.2 innings. Jackson is one of few San Francisco relievers that's consistently worked later in games this year, as many have taken turns as openers or appeared early in bullpen games.

Munoz (hip) allowed two hits and hit a batter while striking out one over a scoreless inning in Monday's 8-5 extra-innings loss to the Angels.

Munoz battled hip tightness over the weekend, but he was able to return to action without a trip to the injured list. He was a little wild but kept the score tied at 3-3 in the ninth inning, though the rest of the Mariners' bullpen faltered in the 10th and 11th frames. Munoz is at a 2.95 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 60:21 K:BB through 42.2 innings while racking up 12 saves and 13 holds this season.

Herget pitched a perfect inning and struck out one to earn the save in Monday's 8-5 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Herget has pitched 4.2 scoreless innings since he was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sept. 1. The save was his first of the year -- Carlos Estevez was presumably unavailable after having pitched both Saturday and Sunday. Herget has a 4.57 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 18:7 K:BB with five holds and two blown saves over 21.2 innings this season.

Kimbrel picked up the save in Monday's 7-5 win over Atlanta. He allowed one hit while striking out one over a scoreless inning.

After a Nicky Lopez single with two outs, Kimbrel coaxed a ground out from Ronald Acuna, who represented the tying run, to lock down his 23rd save of the year. Kimbrel's held opponents scoreless in six of his last seven appearances, lowering his ERA to 3.39 with a 1.03 WHIP and 82:24 K:BB across 61 innings this season.

Fairbanks struck out one batter in a scoreless inning and picked up a save over Minnesota on Monday.

Fairbanks hit one batter but still finished off the 7-4 win with a 17-pitch ninth inning. He's struck out 12 batters while converting five straight save chances during his active 5.2-inning shutout streak. His season ERA is down to 2.23 with a 58:16 K:BB and 23 saves through 44 appearances.

Nardi (hand) recorded one out and allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out one in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Phillies.

Nardi was removed from an Aug. 30 relief outing against the Rays when he was struck on the left hand by a comebacker, but he avoided a trip to the injured list and has since made three relief appearances. He's picked up one win and two holds in those appearances and is now maintaining a 2.94 ERA and 1.10 WHIP across 49 innings on the season.

Jackson (1-3) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks over four innings against Washington. He struck out one.

A CJ Abrams home run plated two for the Nationals in the third, then Jackson was removed after laboring through the fourth in allowing two more runs on two hits and two walks. Jackson had been pitching well since arriving in Pittsburgh with a 2.92 ERA in his first 24.2 innings, but his ERA has jumped to 5.51 after allowing 10 runs in 8.1 innings over his last two starts. He'll look to rebound in his next appearance, currently scheduled to take place over the weekend in a home series against the Yankees.

Chargois will open Tuesday's game against the Brewers, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Chargois is no stranger to this role, as he opened Wednesday's game against the Dodgers nearly one week ago. He'll likely only be asked to work the first inning before handing the ball to a primary pitcher. McPherson expects Edward Cabrera to serve as the bulk reliever Tuesday.
