The Rays transferred Bigge (lat/face) to the 60-day injured list Thursday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

The transaction frees a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Joey Gerber. Bigge originally went on the IL back in early May due to a right lat strain and then suffered an unrelated setback when he was struck in the face by a line drive while sitting in the dugout. He has resumed activities but is still a ways off from a return.

The Rays selected Gerber's contract from Triple-A Durham on Thursday and optioned him to Durham, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

Gerber is now on the 40-man roster but will remain at Durham, where he has posted a 4.91 ERA and 31:10 K:BB over 25.2 frames in 2025. The 28-year-old's only major-league experience came in 2020 when he made 17 relief appearances with the Mariners.

Harvey (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with the rookie-level Arizona Complex League Royals on Thursday.

Harvey has been shelved since mid-April with a right teres major strain and is finally ready to test things out in a game setting. Given how long he's been sidelined, Harvey's rehab assignment could be a relatively lengthy one.

The Marlins transferred Tinoco (forearm) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

A right forearm strain sent Tinoco to the injured list in early June. The 30-year-old reliever has been throwing since mid-June and is nearing a return to mound work, though his move to the 60-day IL will ensure he remains out until at least Aug. 5. His 40-man roster spot will be handed to Michael Petersen, who was acquired in a trade with Atlanta on Wednesday.

Atlanta traded Petersen to the Marlins on Wednesday in exchange for cash, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Petersen has bounced between Triple-A and MLB this season, giving up three runs in 6.2 innings during his time in the majors. Now changing organizations for the second time this season, he'll report to Triple-A Jacksonville to begin his tenure with the Marlins and take Jesus Tinoco's (forearm) place on the 40-man roster.

Treinen (forearm) pitched one inning Tuesday, allowing one run on one hit and striking out one batter, in a minor-league rehab outing with the Dodgers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate.

Treinen's first two rehab appearances came with Triple-A Oklahoma City, but he moved to the ACL team for Tuesday's outing because Los Angeles' other minor-league affiliates are out of action during the MLB All-Star break. The righty reliever served up a solo homer to Guardians prospect Dauri Fernandez but retired the other three batters he faced. Treinen has completed exactly one frame in each of his three rehab outings to date, giving up a combined two runs (one earned) on one hit with a 4:1 K:BB. He'll likely be back with the Dodgers at or shortly after the start of the second half of the big-league campaign.

The Orioles claimed Rodriguez off waivers from the Brewers on Wednesday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

After spending a chunk of 2023 and all of 2024 pitching in Japan, Rodriguez has yielded 18 runs with a 17:7 K:BB over 18.2 frames at the major-league level in 2025. He will report to Triple-A Norfolk, where he will give the Orioles some swingman depth.

The Brewers reinstated Ashby (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Ashby will rejoin the Brewers to begin the second half after he missed the final three games before the All-Star break to observe the birth of his child. Through 13 appearances out of the Milwaukee bullpen this season, Ashby has compiled a 1.66 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 26:7 K:BB in 21.2 innings while collecting one win and one save.

Walker is slated to make his next start Saturday against the Angels in Philadelphia, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

After the Phillies optioned Mick Abel to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on July 4, Walker stepped in last week to fill the vacant rotation spot. Though he had made each of his previous nine appearances out of the bullpen, Walker came through with a strong showing July 8 in San Francisco, limiting the Giants to one run on two hits and two walks over four innings. Walker will likely have a longer leash during Saturday's contest, and he should be able to maintain a spot in the rotation until Aaron Nola (ankle/rib) is ready to return from the 60-day injured list around early or mid-August.

The Athletics transferred Holman (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the Athletics' 40-man roster for outfielder Carlos Cortes, who had his contract selected before he was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. Holman has already missed nearly a month of action with right rotator cuff tendinitis and won't be eligible for activation until mid-August.
