Rodon (0-1) took the loss against the Cubs on Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters over 5.1 innings.

Rodon's first game as a Yankee came after a trio of minor-league rehab starts during which he allowed just one run and posted a 17:3 K:BB over 10.2 innings. The left-hander wasn't quite as effective against the Cubs, though he was just two outs away from recording a quality start. Rodon had topped out at 58 pitches during his rehab stint, and he was able to increase that number to 69 pitches Friday. Though he took the loss -- largely due to a complete absence of run support by New York's offense -- this was overall a positive outing for the veteran hurler given his long injury layoff. Rodon will have ample time to recover during the All-Star break, and he could start New York's first game in Colorado following the Midsummer Classic.

Faedo (1-4) took the loss Friday, allowing seven runs on six hits and two walks over 3.2 innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out two.

Faedo was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Friday and made his first start at the big-league level since May 30, but it didn't go well. He allowed a season-high seven runs and couldn't complete the fourth inning, which ballooned his ERA to 6.98 through six appearances (29.2 innings). While Faedo's ERA is ugly, his 1.08 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB are solid, so he may be able to turn things around moving forward. The right-hander isn't scheduled to pitch again until after the All-Star break.

Manoah (2-7) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on five hits over six innings in a 12-2 win over the Tigers. He struck out eight and didn't issue a walk.

Manoah struggled to start the year and was sent to the Florida Complex League in early June to get right. He slowly worked his way back to Toronto's rotation and pitched at the big-league level Friday for the first time since June 5. It was one of the right-hander's better starts of the campaign, as he struck out a season-high eight batters and completed six innings for just the third time in 14 appearances. Manoah's 5.91 ERA and 1.80 WHIP still need a lot of work, but the 2019 first-round pick's performance versus the Tigers was encouraging. Manoah's next start is scheduled for after the All-Star break.

Cease did not factor into the decision Friday against St. Louis, allowing five runs on 11 hits over six innings. He struck out eight and did not issue a walk.

Cease coughed up five runs in the first three innings but turned in three shutout frames to end his outing. He tossed 107 pitches and forced 17 whiffs. While his command and control have been shaky at times throughout the season, Cease has posted an impressive 23:3 K:BB over his last three starts. His ERA jumped to 4.30 alongside a 123:42 K:BB across 102.2 frames.

Toussaint is expected to start for the White Sox on Saturday against the Cardinals, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Toussaint struggled with his command in a spot start last Sunday at Oakland and lasted only 3.2 innings, but he'll try to give the White Sox some coverage in their second-to-last game before the All-Star break. The 27-year-old right-hander holds little fantasy appeal.

Ober allowed a run on four hits and three walks while striking out five over six innings in a no-decision versus the Orioles on Friday.

Ober limited the damage to a sixth-inning sacrifice fly from Cedric Mullins. This was Ober's fifth straight quality start -- in that span, he's given up nine runs over 31 innings with a 32:5 K:BB. The right-hander now has a 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 79:18 K:BB through 82.2 innings across 14 starts this season.

Irvin allowed a run on three hits and struck out four without walking a batter over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Friday.

Irvin has allowed exactly one run in five of his six outings (five starts) since returning to the big-league roster June 10. Friday's effort was his longest of the season, though a lack of run support helped stretch his winless streak to five appearances. He now sports a 5.50 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB through 37.2 innings across 10 appearances (eight starts) on the year. He's pitched well enough lately to remain in the rotation as the Orioles' fifth starter following the All-Star break.

Castillo (6-6) allowed an unearned run on five hits and struck out three without walking a batter over seven innings to earn the win Friday over the Astros.

Castillo limited the damage to a third-inning RBI single from Alex Bregman, which came after a two-out error by Kolten Wong. Castillo had given up three or more runs in four of his last five starts before Friday's sharp outing. The right-hander concludes the first half with a 2.85 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 117:28 K:BB through 107.1 innings over 18 starts. He's likely to next take the mound in the All-Star Game in Seattle, and he could still be in line to face the Tigers next weekend following the break.

Brown (6-6) allowed five runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out eight over three-plus innings to take the loss Friday versus the Mariners.

The right-hander's strikeout total was impressive, but the Mariners were able to get enough men on base over the first three innings to inflate his pitch count. Things fell apart in the fourth inning, when Brown and reliever Phil Maton were tagged for a combined nine runs. This was Brown's shortest start of the season, and he needed 88 pitches (49 strikes) to record only nine outs. He's faded toward the end of the first half and now owns a 4.12 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 111:33 K:BB through 94 innings across 17 starts. He'll have at least a week off to reset before making his first start coming out of the All-Star break.

Medina allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings in Friday's loss to Boston. He struck out nine and did not factor in the decision.

Medina entered the game in the second inning after opener Sam Long loaded the bases with no outs. All three runners would cross home plate with Medina on the mound, followed by four more over the next six frames. He did strike out a career-high nine batters though, while also issuing just one walk after dishing out 12 free passes over his previous 10 innings. Medina now owns a 6.34 ERA with a 58:32 K:BB through 59.2 frames this season.
