Dunning was activated from the paternity list ahead of his start Wednesday against the Tigers.

Dunning didn't wind up missing a turn in the Rangers' rotation while welcoming a new addition to his growing family. The 28-year-old right-hander seems to have earned a permanent starting job with an overall 1.67 ERA through 43 innings (four starts, eight relief appearances) on the season for Texas.

Mize (elbow/back) has resumed a throwing program, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Mize had to be shut down for a bit due to a back issue cropping up, which was concerning since he's coming off back surgery (as well as Tommy John surgery). The right-hander has a shot to make it back late this season, but that probably won't happen if he has more setbacks.

The Red Sox placed Kluber on the paternity list Tuesday, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

Kluber and his family just welcomed a new baby, so he'll be away from the club for up to three days. Ryan Sherriff was called up from Triple-A Worcester to take Kluber's spot in the bullpen.

Detroit placed Rodriguez on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left index finger pulley rupture, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Rodriguez threw 100 pitches over six innings of one-run ball against the White Sox on Sunday without any hint of a physical issue, so the news seems to come out of nowhere. He will be sidelined for at least a couple weeks and the Tigers haven't revealed who will replace him in the rotation. Rodriguez boasts a 2.13 ERA across 11 starts this season.

Clevinger (wrist) tossed a simulated game Monday in Chicago, MLB.com reports.

Per James Fegan of The Athletic, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that Clevinger could be activated from the 15-day injured list before the team's homestand comes to an end this weekend, and the right-hander's ability to face hitters Monday seemingly supports Hahn's claim. Clevinger will presumably throw a bullpen session Wednesday or Thursday before the White Sox determine whether he's fit to return from the jammed right wrist he suffered in his May 17 start versus Cleveland, or if he'll require another simulated game or a minor-league rehab start prior to being activated. If the White Sox decide to give Clevinger more time to heal up, Jesse Scholtens would likely be in store for another turn through the rotation this weekend versus the Tigers.

Miller (3-2) took the loss against the Yankees on Monday, allowing eight runs on 11 hits over 4.2 innings. He struck out three.

Miller had the worst start of his young career on Monday. The rookie had allowed just four runs over his first five starts combined before this meltdown against New York, and this was the first time he didn't get through the fifth inning. The right-hander's next chance to redeem himself is tentatively scheduled to be against Texas on the road next week.

German improved to 3-3 in Monday's 10-4 win over the Mariners, allowing four runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings. He struck out four.

German was making his first start since May 16 after completing a 10-game ban for using a foreign substance on the mound. With 53 strikeouts, German is already on the verge of surpassing last season's total of 58, and he's boasting an elite 0.98 WHIP. German is tentatively slated to face the Dodgers on the road in his next start.

France allowed four runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight batters over six innings in a no-decision against Minnesota on Monday.

The outing was a mixed bag for France -- a third-inning three-run homer off the bat of Royce Lewis put him in an early hole, but he gave up only one more run despite failing to record a single 1-2-3 frame. The rookie righty also racked up an impressive 17 swinging strikes and fanned eight batters for the second straight game. Though this was France's second-longest start of the season, it was also just the second time he's given up more than one earned run through five appearances. From a fantasy perspective, his appeal is increasing with his improved strikeout numbers -- France notched a modest 10 punchouts over his first 15.1 big-league frames but has struck out 16 across his past 11.2 innings.

Gray allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out three batters over six-plus innings in a no-decision against Houston on Monday.

Gray sailed through six frames but was pulled after allowing the first two batters he faced in the seventh to reach base. A Jose Altuve grand slam off Brock Stewart allowed both those runners to score and wiped out Minnesota's lead, causing Gray to take his fifth consecutive no-decision. The right-hander didn't have his best stuff Monday -- the three punchouts were his fewest since his first start of the campaign, and he notched only seven swinging strikes -- but he did manage to record his first quality start of May. Gray is still sporting an excellent 1.94 ERA, but he's been less dominant of late, giving up 10 earned runs over his past 25.1 innings.

Canning moved to 4-2 after allowing three runs on six hits over six innings while striking out nine in Monday's 6-4 win over the White Sox.

Canning gave up one run through three frames before giving up a pair of solo homers later in the contest. He set new season highs with nine strikeouts and 20 whiffs, marking the first time he forced more than eight swinging strikes since April 25. The 27-year-old has allowed at least three runs in five of his last six starts but his ERA dropped Monday to 4.89 through 42.1 frames. Canning is currently projected to start in Houston this weekend.
