Chirinos is expected to get a look in the Rays' rotation following the demotion of Taj Bradley, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Chirinos has pitched well in relief, tossing 9.1 scoreless innings with a 5:2 K:BB. It's not clear when Chirinos might make a start, but all three of his relief appearances have been lengthy so it shouldn't be a major transition. The right-hander was a successful starter for Tampa Bay in prior seasons before multiple arm injuries.

The Rays optioned Bradley to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Topkin notes that a major reason for the move is to transition Bradley to a traditional five-day schedule as opposed to the six-day schedule he's been working on. The Rays are expected to replace Bradley in the rotation with Yonny Chirinos and/or Josh Fleming. Bradley is still likely to be a major part of the Tampa Bay pitching staff this season, though as a result of the demotion, it's possible that Tyler Glasnow (oblique) beats him back to the big-league rotation.

Gilbert's next start will be pushed back a day, and he's now in line to take the hill Wednesday in Philadelphia, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Seattle has decided to flip Gilbert and Marco Gonzales, who will move up a day to start Tuesday. Gilbert will now go more than a week between starts after he allowed four runs over six frames against Milwaukee last Tuesday.

Gonzales will move up a day to start for the Mariners on Tuesday in Philadelphia, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

The Mariners have decided to flip-flop Gonzales and Logan Gilbert, who will now go Wednesday. Gonzales -- who will be pitching on an extra day of rest Tuesday -- is coming off his strongest start so far this season, having struck out nine while limiting the Brewers to two runs over six innings Wednesday.

Bibee was scratched from his scheduled start with Triple-A Columbus on Tuesday and instead could be called up to make his MLB debut with the Guardians on Wednesday versus the Rockies, Joe Noga of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Bibee has posted a 1.76 ERA and 19:8 K:BB over 15.1 innings through his first three starts for Columbus. The move to Triple-A hasn't fazed Bibee, who broke out in 2022 while logging a 2.17 ERA and 167:27 K:BB across 132.2 frames between High-A Lake County and Double-A Akron. The Guardians will likely wait and see how Tuesday's game plays out before deciding on a starter for Wednesday, but if Bibee does in fact get the nod, he could make for a solid streaming option in a favorable matchup at Progressive Field. If Bibee starts and pitches well Wednesday, he could have a chance to stick around in the rotation on a more permanent basis.

Lynn (0-3) took the loss Monday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks over five innings against Toronto. He struck out four.

Lynn posted three scoreless frames before getting into trouble in the fourth. After retiring the first two batters in the frame, the veteran right-hander allowed five straight baserunners to reach, including a three-run homer by Cavan Biggio that gave the Blue Jays a 4-2 lead. Lynn has allowed multiple runs in each of his five starts this season and has gotten through six innings just once. He currently has a 7.52 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP, but his 32:13 K:BB through 26.1 innings is somewhat encouraging.

Eovaldi did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and one walk over six innings during a 7-6 loss the Reds. He struck out seven.

The Reds took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a throwing error from Josh Jung, but the Rangers responded with five unanswered runs before Eovaldi was tagged for three earned runs in the third. The right-hander was able to get through three more innings and was in line for the win until Cincinnati made a late-inning comeback. Eovaldi has gotten through six innings in three consecutive starts and currently holds a 5.20 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP with a 31:5 K:BB across his first five outings (27.2 innings).

Bradley (3-0) picked up the win Monday in an 8-3 victory over the Astros, giving up three runs on four hits over five innings. He struck out six without walking a batter.

The rookie right-hander showed some blemishes, serving up the first two homers of his career, but Bradley has now won each of his first three big-league starts, although it should be noted the red-hot Rays have averaged nine runs a game for him so far. He fired 53 of 82 pitches for strikes before exiting, and his 23:2 K:BB through his first 15.1 MLB innings has all the hallmarks of an ace. Bradley will look to make it four wins in a row in his next outing, likely to come on the road this weekend against the White Sox.

Urquidy (1-2) took the loss Monday as the Astros fell 8-3 to the Rays, coughing up six runs on seven hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. He struck out three.

Houston took leads in the top of the first and third innings, and both times Urquidy couldn't stop a relentless Tampa Bay squad from answering right back. The right-hander got the hook after 73 pitches (43 strikes), and about the only positive takeaway from the performance was that he and the Astros bullpen became the first staff this year to prevent the Rays from leaving the yard, snapping their MLB-record 22-game home run streak to begin a season. Urquidy will carry a 5.64 ERA, 1.75 WHIP and 20:9 K:BB through 22.1 innings into his next outing, likely to come at home this weekend against the Phillies. He's running out of time to prove he should keep a rotation spot once Lance McCullers (forearm) is ready to return.

Kremer (2-0) picked up the win Monday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a 5-4 victory over the Red Sox. He struck out five.

The right-hander had a rocky start to the game and dug the O's a 4-0 hole after three innings, serving up long homers to Triston Casas and Rafael Devers along the way. However, Kremer regained his focus over the next few frames and gave his offense a chance to wake up. While his undefeated record is nice, the 27-year-old will take a less appealing 6.20 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB through 24.2 innings into his next start, likely to come this weekend in Detroit.
