Lynch was removed from Thursday's game against the Athletics in the top of the third inning due to an apparent lower-body injury, Alec Lewis of The Athletic reports.

Lynch started Thursday's game and allowed a run on two hits and a walk while striking out one in two innings, but he was visited by a trainer after he appeared to tweak something on a pitch in the third frame. The nature and severity of the injury aren't yet known, and it's unclear whether the issue will force him to spend time on the injured list.

Cobb (wrist) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Thursday's start against the White Sox.

Cobb tossed a simulated game Friday and felt good afterward, so he'll take the mound in Thursday's series finale against the White Sox. The right-hander had been on the injured list since late July due to right wrist inflammation, but he'll be back in action after missing just under two months.

Rodon will next take the mound sometime during the White Sox's upcoming series against the Tigers, which runs from Monday through Wednesday, Maddie Lee of NBC Sports Chicago reports.

The White Sox have been giving Rodon extra rest between his starts as they look to keep him fresh for the postseason. The decision seems to be a sensible one, as he's thrown 124.2 innings already this season after throwing a combined 42.1 over the previous two years. He'll get anywhere between nine and 11 days off between starts this time around and is only expected to make two more total starts before the end of the regular season.

Gonzales didn't factor into the decision in Wednesday's 9-4 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out seven.

The veteran southpaw continued an impressive run that has seen him reel off seven quality starts in nine outings since the beginning of August. Gonzales has a 5-0 record, 2.37 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB through 57 innings over that stretch, but despite his efforts the M's now sit four games back of a wild-card spot in the AL with the A's, BoSox, Blue Jays and Yankees all ahead of them.

Perez allowed one unearned run while striking out two over one inning in Wednesday's 9-4 extra-inning win over the Mariners.

The Red Sox plated six runs in the top half of the 10th inning and had Perez mop up in a low-leverage situation. He balked the runner placed at second base to third before allowing him to score on a groundball out. This was the left-hander's first game back since being activated from the COVID-19 injured list. Perez provides a boost to a bullpen that was hit hard by COVID-19, but he's not expected to pitch in high-leverage spots.

Keuchel allowed two earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out three across six innings Wednesday against the Angels. He did not factor into the decision.

Keuchel was far from dominant, as is indicated by the 11 baserunners he allowed across only six innings. However, he got two timely double plays -- one stranded the bases loaded -- and induced 10 groundball outs to avoid significant damage. Entering this start, Keuchel had allowed five or more earned runs in four consecutive outings. That said, he'll take the positive results of this start even if his underlying skills don't match his line. Overall, Keuchel has a 5.23 ERA with a 90:55 K:BB across 151.1 innings on the season.

Junk allowed one earned run on three hits and no walks while striking out two across 4.1 innings Wednesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Junk was only allowed to throw 61 pitches, but he managed improved results as compared to his major-league debut. The only run he allowed came on a solo home run by Yoan Moncada in the fourth inning. Junk excelled at consistently finding the strike zone, as 40 of his 61 pitches went for strikes. Though the outing was positive, Junk may lose his spot in the rotation due to the imminent return of Alex Cobb (finger).

Arihara (2-4) yielded six runs on eight hits with just one strikeout in four innings while taking the loss Wednesday against Houston.

Arihara was solid -- albeit with a limited workload -- in his first two starts back from his shoulder injury, but he was overmatched Wednesday against the potent Astros. He coughed up gopher balls to Jake Meyers and Marwin Gonzalez in the second inning, then yielded three more runs in the fourth to end his night. Arihara will face another tough assignment in his next scheduled outing on the road against the Yankees.

Urquidy (7-3) earned the win Wednesday against Texas, allowing one run on two hits and a walk with six strikeouts over six innings.

A run-scoring groundout by Yonny Hernandez in the third inning was the lone blemish on the day for Urquidy, who put together a quality start after going just a combined 8.2 innings over his three previous outings. The 26-year-old has lost just once since the start of May and now owns a 3.38 ERA and 78:17 K:BB in 90.2 innings overall this season. He's scheduled to face the Angels on the road in his next start.

Bassitt (face) completed a bullpen session Wednesday and is scheduled to throw against hitters Saturday, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bassitt continues to work through his rehab program as he returns from the facial surgery in late August. The right-hander could return from the injured list for multiple starts before the end of the season, though it's unclear whether he'll require a rehab assignment.
