Suarez (4-4) took the loss against Colorado on Tuesday, pitching 3.1 innings and allowing eight runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four.

The left-hander's outing got off a to a poor start when a pair of Angels errors in the first inning led to two Rockies runs. He gave up a solo homer in the third frame before another error catalyzed two more Colorado scores. Suarez couldn't blame his defense in the fourth inning, when he allowed three of the four batters he faced to reach base, and all three came around to score. Suarez has now surrendered four earned runs in consecutive contests, somewhat souring a three-game stretch from June 28 to July 11 during which he yielded four total runs over 13.1 innings. He's tentatively lined up to start next Monday's game at Texas.

Watkins (2-1) allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk with one strikeout in four innings, taking the loss versus Miami on Tuesday.

Watkins had put in strong efforts through his first three major-league starts, but he ran into trouble versus Miami on Tuesday. He allowed a three-run blast to Sandy Leon in the second inning and an RBI single to Starling Marte in the fourth. Watkins was likely pitching a little better than expected as a 28-year-old rookie. He projects to make his next start this weekend versus Detroit.

Quantrill allowed a run on four hits and a walk while striking out five in six innings in a no-decision versus St. Louis on Tuesday.

For the third straight start, Quantrill was able to limit the opposition to one run. The right-hander has settled into a nice groove since the All-Star break as he's been needed to address an injury-riddled Cleveland rotation. For the year, he owns a 3.66 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 55:26 K:BB through 78.2 innings. He'll take a 2-2 record into his next start, tentatively set for this weekend versus the White Sox.

McCullers (8-2) won Tuesday's 8-6 victory against Seattle, allowing four runs on six hits and three walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.

McCullers served up a Kyle Seager first-inning home run and a bases-loaded single to Jarred Kelenic in the sixth to account for all four runs surrendered. He permitted a combined seven of his nine baserunners in the first and sixth innings. The start marks consecutive outings of four earned runs allowed, though the 27-year-old has now struck out at least eight in five consecutive starts after recording only three such starts in his first 12 turns.

Kaprielian (5-4) lost Tuesday's 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Padres, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk with six strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

Kaprielian was staked to a 3-0 lead after the top of the third but surrendered a two-run Fernando Tatis home run in the bottom of the inning, then allowed four of the first five Padres to reach base in the fifth and was removed. Yusmeiro Petit entered and immediately served up a three-run home run to Manny Machado with two of the runs charged to Kaprielian. This was the 27-year-old's worst start by far as his ERA jumped from 2.65 all the way to 3.24.

Dunning (4-7) allowed two earned runs on six hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 6.1 innings, picking up the win in Tuesday's 5-4 victory over the Diamondbacks.

While the stats might not jump off the page, Dunning was solid in picking up the quality start Tuesday night. His adventure into the seventh inning marked the deepest he's gone into a game this season, but this isn't a philosophical change from Chris Woodward and crew. A pitch count of 75-80 remains a stark reality for the former Florida Gator, as the Rangers still want to be careful with Dunning. The only reason the right-hander made it into the seventh was his incredible efficiency. He finished the night having thrown just 78 pitches. If Dunning is ever unleashed, he could become more of a fantasy factor.

Maeda allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out five across 6.1 innings Tuesday against Detroit. He did not factor into the decision.

Maeda allowed only a solo home run to Akil Baddoo. He otherwise shut down the Tigers' lineup, generating 14 swinging strikes on 91 total pitches. The only downside to his outing was that he lost the chance for a win due a meltdown by Hansel Robles in the ninth inning. After a shaky start to the season that was worsened by an absence due to a groin and arm injury, Maeda has allowed only seven earned runs across his last five starts and 29.1 frames. Overall, he has a 4.40 ERA with 90 strikeouts across 86 innings on the campaign.

Keller allowed one earned run on four hits and two walks while striking out four across seven innings Tuesday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Keller worked very efficiently, needing only 90 pitches to record his 21 outs. The only blemish to his effort was a solo home run that he surrendered to Gavin Sheets in the fourth inning. After delivering poor results for much of the first half of the season, Keller has allowed only seven earned runs across his last 27.2 innings over a span of four starts. Even with that strong stretch, Keller has a 5.55 ERA with 93 strikeouts across 108.2 frames.

The Mariners reached an agreement to acquire Anderson from the Pirates on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

The left-hander appeared to be on his way to Philadelphia when an agreement was reached earlier in the day, but the trade fell through due to the medicals of one of the return players. Pittsburgh didn't take long to find a new trade partner and new team for Anderson. The Pirates will receive two prospects from the Mariners, catcher Carter Bins and pitcher Joaquin Tejada.

Cease allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk while striking out six across six innings Tuesday against the Royals. He did not factor into the decision.

Cease largely held the Royals in check, as the majority of his struggles came in the second inning. This was his first quality start in his last four outings, and it was also the first time in his last six starts that he kept the ball in the yard. Though he's been a bit up and down, mixing solid outings with occasional blowups, Cease has still managed a 4.14 ERA with 138 strikeouts across 108.2 frames on the campaign.
