Manoah (suspension) was reinstated to the Blue Jays' active roster and is slated to start Friday against the Rays, Mitch Bannon of SI.com reports.

The 23-year-old received a five-game ban for intentionally throwing at Maikel Franco back on June 19, and the right-hander will rejoin the active roster after serving the suspension. Manoah has a 3.34 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 33:11 K:BB across 29.2 innings this season, and he's coming off a strong start versus Baltimore in which he allowed only an unearned run over six frames.

Sale (elbow) was enthused by Wednesday's live batting practice session and reported feeling good the day after, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports. "[Wednesday] was a good day, another step in the right direction. You know, I came in today feeling really, really good. Was able to move my arm around. Soreness in all the good spots. Got to keep trucking forward," the pitcher said.

Sale feels he'll be pitching for Boston "sooner rather than later" following Wednesday's session during which he hit the mid-90s on the radar gun and mixed in offspeed stuff. The left-hander will need a rehab assignment, but Sale could return soon enough to make an impact on the pennant race.

Valdez (5-1) allowed two runs on four hits and five walks while striking out six over seven innings to pick up the win over Cleveland on Thursday.

Valdez walked a season-high five batters and was tested early in the contest before settling in and saving Houston's bullpen. The second inning was most pivotal, as Valdez walked three batters, gave up a single and allowed a runner to score on a wild pitch. With the bases loaded and one out, he bore down and got the final two batters. Back-to-back doubles with one out in the third increased Cleveland's lead to 2-0, but Valdez then faced the minimum number of batters and got through seven innings without further damage. The left-hander takes a string of five consecutive quality starts and a 2.18 ERA into his next start, projected for Wednesday at home against the Athletics.

Severino (elbow/groin) could return to throwing from a mound by July 4, MLB.com reports.

Severino's rehab from Tommy John surgery was delayed in mid-June after he was diagnosed with a Grade 2 groin strain, and he has yet to return to the mound. However, the right-hander has been able to run and throw from flat ground, so it appears that he's not far off from mound work. General manager Brian Cashman previously indicated that the groin strain would delay Severino's return to the majors by 4-to-6 weeks, which would potentially have him back with the Yankees by early August.

Berrios allowed four runs (three earned) on 10 hits and one walk while striking out none across five innings Thursday against the White Sox. He did not factor into the decision.

Berrios clearly lacked his best stuff as he surrendered a season-high 10 hits and generated only five swinging strikes on 89 pitches. Even so, he battled to keep the Twins in the game and came away with a no-decision rather than a loss. Prior to this outing, he had recorded three consecutive quality starts, which provides hope that his next outing will bring better results. On the campaign, Berrios now has a 3.52 ERA with 96 strikeouts across 94.2 innings.

Rodon allowed four earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out nine across five innings Thursday against the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

Rodon held the Twins scoreless through four innings but fell apart in his final frame to sour the outing. He didn't allow a home run, but he was still hit around for two doubles and two singles while also throwing a wild pitch. However, he balanced those struggles with nine strikeouts, his eighth consecutive start with at least eight punchouts. On the campaign, Rodon has a 2.37 ERA with 122 strikeouts across 83.2 frames.

Bubic (2-4) allowed five earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three across four innings to take the loss Thursday against the Red Sox.

Bubic surrendered three home runs in his short outing, which accounted for all five of his earned runs. It's unclear what the outing may do to Bubic's role going forward, as he had pitched out of the bullpen in his most recent appearances prior to Thursday's start. He hasn't found much success in either role this season, as he has a 4.99 ERA with a 44:27 K:BB across 52.1 frames.

Eovaldi (9-4) allowed five hits and no walks while striking out six across seven scoreless innings to earn the win Thursday against the Royals.

Eovaldi rolled through the Royals and allowed only one hit to the last 14 batters he faced. Though he didn't rack up a ton of strikeouts, he worked efficiently and has now thrown seven or more innings in each of his last two starts. While he has allowed four or more earned runs in five of his 17 outings this season, Eovaldi maintains a 3.41 ERA while striking out 90 batters across 97.2 frames on the campaign.

Dunning didn't factor into the decision after working four innings and allowing four hits and two walks Thursday against Oakland. He had four strikeouts.

The Rangers clearly want to avoid having Dunning work deep into games; the 26-year-old was lifted from Thursday's start despite having thrown only 68 pitches (43 strikes) and yielding just three singles. He's 3-6 with a 4.38 ERA and 1.51 WHIP across 16 starts, posting a 79:27 K:BB in 74 innings of work. Dunning is projected to return to the mound next week against Detroit.

Ryu (7-5) was charged with the loss Thursday against the Mariners after allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and a pair of walks while striking out two across four innings.

It just wasn't Ryu's day as the southpaw turned in his shortest start of the year while surrendering a season-worst-tying four earned runs. Ryu was rattled early after allowing each of his first three batters to reach, including a leadoff double by J.P. Crawford. He was tagged for a solo home run by Jake Fraley in the second frame, followed by a two-run shot by Shed Long in the third. The rough outing raised Ryu's season stats to a 3.65 ERA and 1.15 WHIP. He'll look to bounce back during his next projected start Wednesday at Baltimore.
