Boyd was placed on the 10-day injured list with left arm discomfort Tuesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

The southpaw will be further evaluated in the next 24 hours, so it's still possible he'll be given a more detailed diagnosis and return timeline in the near future. For the time being, he'll miss at least his next turn through the rotation. He'll be eligible to come off the IL on June 25.

Manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that Severino (elbow) suffered a Grade 2 groin strain during his rehab stint at High-A Hudson Valley on Saturday, Jack Curry of YES Network reports. The Yankees were hoping to have the right-hander back in the starting rotation by the end of June, but the groin injury will delay his return by about a month.

Severino appeared to be in a lot of pain after he exited Saturday's start, and Tuesday's update confirms that he suffered a rather serious setback in his return from Tommy John surgery. Given Boone's updated timeline, a late-July return to the Yankees' rotation represents the absolute best-case scenario for the right-hander, but he'll need a perfectly smooth next few weeks for that to become a reality.

Manning joined the Tigers' taxi squad Tuesday and is likely to start Thursday's game against the Angels, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

The acclaimed pitching prospect will be making his major-league debut despite struggling to the tune of a 8.07 ERA in seven starts with Triple-A Toledo this season. That being said, his most recent outing was one of his best -- a six-inning, two-run effort with eight strikeouts June 9.

McCullers (shoulder) was activated from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Jake Kaplan of The Athletic reports.

It was announced Sunday that McCullers would be reinstated to start Tuesday against the Rangers, and now his activation is official. McCullers won't be fully stretched out in his return to the mound, as Jake Odorizzi is expected to follow him in long relief. Catcher Jason Castro (Achilles) was also activated from the IL on Tuesday, with Nivaldo Rodriguez and Garrett Stubbs heading to Triple-A Sugar Land in corresponding roster moves.

Glasnow was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday after an MRI revealed a partial UCL tear as well as a flexor strain in his right elbow, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

UCL tears frequently lead to Tommy John surgery, though the plan for now is for Glasnow to rest rather than undergo a surgical procedure. The timing of the injury makes that a sensible plan for the Rays, as undergoing the surgery now would already have a fairly high chance of ruling their ace out for all of next year, so the team can afford to wait a few months to see how rest and rehab goes without costing him any more games. The injury is a huge blow to Tampa Bay and to those with Glasnow on their fantasy teams, as the righty owns a dominant 2.66 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 36.2 percent strikeout rate through 14 starts.

The Yankees promoted Gil from Double-A Somerset to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday, Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune reports.

Gil will move up to the Yankees' top affiliate after he excelled over his seven starts with Somerset, posting a 2.64 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 50:13 K:BB in 30.2 innings. The 23-year-old righty becomes the second highly regarded Yankees prospect in the Triple-A rotation, joining Deivi Garcia.

Glasnow (elbow) is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Glasnow was diagnosed with right elbow inflammation when he was pulled after the fourth inning of his start Monday against the White Sox. Though Glasnow noted after the game that he didn't feel any "crazy pain" in his elbow before departing, the Rays will send him in for an MRI to ensure he's not dealing with a more significant injury that anticipated. Glasnow tentatively lines up to make his next start Saturday in Seattle.

Manager A.J. Hinch suggested that Boyd could be in line for a stint on the injured list after he exited his start in Monday's 10-3 win over the Royals with a suspected triceps issue, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports. "We're gonna have to figure out some things," Hinch said in reference to who might replace Boyd in the rotation.

The Tigers officially attributed Boyd's removal from the contest to left arm discomfort, but the southpaw will undergo additional evaluation Tuesday before the team provides an update on his condition. Reliever Alex Lange also exited Monday's contest with a shoulder injury, so both he and Boyd could be placed on the IL as soon as Tuesday if Detroit wants to restock its pitching staff with some fresh arms. Before departing, Boyd worked around five hits to toss 2.1 scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to 3.44 for the season.

Gonzalez allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings Monday against the Twins. He did not factor into the decision.

Gonzales gave up an early run in the first thanks to three singles, and he was tagged for two more runs on a pair of solo homers before his day was over. The 29-year-old has been unable to top five innings in three outings since returning from the injured list and has been a major disappointment after a stellar 2020 season, as he owns a 5.44 ERA and 36:15 K:BB over 41.1 innings. He's currently lined up to face the red-hot Rays this weekend in Seattle.

Maeda allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out seven over four innings Monday against the Mariners in his first start back from the injured list. He did not factor into the decision.

It's understandable that Maeda was on a pitch count -- he threw 78 pitches -- and showed some signs of rust after missing the last few weeks with a right adductor strain and some right arm soreness. He struggled a bit with his command, as this was the first time this season that he walked more than two batters in an outing. All three of his free passes did come in the same inning, however. The only time the Mariners really got to him was in the third, when he allowed a leadoff double and then an RBI single to Jake Fraley. It's been a frustrating year so far for Maeda, who currently owns a career-worst 5.01 ERA and 1.48 WHIP to go along with a 46:14 K:BB over 46.2 innings. He's in line for a favorable matchup against the Rangers over the weekend.
