Perez allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out six in a no-decision against the Tigers on Wednesday.

Perez pitched well on a cold, damp night in Boston before tiring in the sixth inning, when he allowed three hits and was removed following JaCoby Jones' two-run single. He's yet to pitch six innings in any of his six starts, but this was the second consecutive outing in which he was one out shy. The left-hander will bring a 4.40 ERA into his next scheduled start Monday in Baltimore.

Bassitt completed seven innings against Toronto on Wednesday, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out seven. He did not factor in the decision.

The right-hander looked to be in line for a win when he departed after the seventh inning with Oakland up by a run. However, the bullpen couldn't fend off Toronto's bats, as the Blue Jays put up five runs in the eighth to keep Bassitt out of the win column. Still, it was another strong outing for the veteran hurler, who has now notched four straight quality starts, during which he has racked up a 32:4 K:BB across 25 innings. He'll carry a 3.70 overall ERA into his next start, which is currently lined up to come in Boston at the beginning of next week.

Ray hurled six innings against Oakland on Wednesday, allowing three runs on six hits and no walks while striking out nine. He did not factor in the decision.

Ray served up a pair of solo shots -- one each to Matt Chapman and Ramon Laureano -- but was otherwise fairly dominant, inducing 21 swinging strikes and punching out nine batters. Most remarkably, he did not walk a single batter for the third straight start after issuing nine free passes over his first 10 innings of the campaign. The southpaw finished with a 17.9 percent walk rate last season but has cut that number nearly in half in 2021 thanks to his recent streak of excellent control. Not coincidentally, Ray's walkless stretch has resulted in his first three quality starts of the campaign, and he has struck out 23 batters across 18.2 innings over that span. He'll try to keep the the impressive stretch going in his next start, which is tentatively slated for Tuesday at Atlanta.

Springs earned the save against the Angels on Wednesday, tossing a perfect 1.1 innings and striking out one batter.

Springs was extremely efficient in the outing, needing only 14 pitches -- 13 of which were strikes -- to set down all four batters he faced. The left-hander entered with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and remained in the game through the next frame to close out the contest. It's a promising development that Springs was given the first save chance following Diego Castillo's (groin) move to the IL, but it's likely that Tampa Bay will choose to proceed with a committee approach rather than slide Springs (or any other reliever) into a full-time closer role. In his fourth big-league season, Springs has registered a 3.21 ERA and 21:6 K:BB across 15.2 innings.

Singer (heel) gave up three runs on four hits and two walks while fanning three across 5.2 innings Wednesday against Cleveland. He didn't factor into the decision.

Singer took a comebacker off his heel in Friday's start against the Twins and there were concerns regarding his availability and durability for Wednesday, but the right-hander didn't have problems delivering a strong performance this time -- he finished just one out away from posting what would've been his third quality start of the season. Singer ended a streak of four starts allowing one or fewer runs, but he remains a reliable presence on the mound and owns a 3.41 ERA across 29 innings in 2021. He's tabbed to make his upcoming start next week on the road at Detroit.

Bieber gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits and a walk while fanning nine across six innings Wednesday against the Royals. He didn't factor into the decision.

The fact the nine strikeouts represent a season-low mark for Bieber shows just how dominant he's been this year. Despite his prolific swing-and-miss profile, it's worth noting Bieber has allowed three earned runs in four of his seven outings. As a result, the star hurler owns a 2.98 ERA while posting a quality start in each trip to the mound thus far. Bieber also sports a 77:15 K:BB across 48.1 innings, and he will try to maintain the same levels of dominance in his next start, scheduled for next week at home against the Cubs.

Garcia gave up three runs on two hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in 4.2 innings in Wednesday's 6-3 loss to the Yankees. He did not factor in the decision.

Garcia was fairly effective at limiting baserunners, but Giancarlo Stanton took him deep for a two-run home run in the third inning and then followed up with an RBI double in the fifth. The 24-year-old Garcia still showed some promise, notching at least six strikeouts for the fourth time this season. He has a 3.28 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 28:9 K:BB in 24.2 innings overall. Jake Odorizzi (forearm) is headed on a rehab assignment, so Garcia tentatively lines up for one more turn in the rotation next week versus the Angels.

Montgomery allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out four over six innings in a no-decision versus Houston on Wednesday.

Montgomery was fairly solid throughout the start, except in the fourth inning. Five of the eight hits he allowed came in that inning. The southpaw avoided issuing a walk for the first time since April 5, which was his first start of the season. He's pitched to a 4.41 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB across 32.2 innings this season. Montgomery tentatively lines up to face Tampa Bay next week.

Ryu (hip) will be activated from the 10-day injured list and start Thursday against the Athletics, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

The 34-year-old landed on the injured list with a glute strain April 28, and he'll return Thursday after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf. Ryu has a 2.60 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 26:3 K:BB across 27.2 innings through five starts this season.

Kikuchi (1-2) allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings, taking the loss to the Orioles on Wednesday.

Kikuchi tossed seven strong innings but was outdone by John Means, who threw a complete game no-hitter. Kikuchi struggled in April, but he provided 14 innings in his last two starts and allowed just three runs during that span while posting a 14:3 K:BB. The 30-year-old has pitched to a 4.30 ERA and 1.09 WHIP across 37.2 innings overall this season.
