Severino (lat) threw 35 pitches in a two-inning sim game Tuesday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

Severino faced minor-league hitters in the simulated game and reported feeling ready to embark upon a rehab assignment. Manager Aaron Boone has indicated that such an assignment could begin Sunday. If he progresses in his recovery without suffering any setbacks, Severino should return to the Yankees in September, likely as a reliever initially, with the possibility for a start or two over the final week of the season.

Glasnow (forearm) threw 15 pitches in live batting practice Tuesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Glasnow is making progress in his recovery from a forearm strain he suffered back in mid-May. It doesn't appear that he'll have time to build up to a proper starting workload by the end of the season, but he'll be able to fill a multi-inning relief role if his recovery continues to move forward without setbacks.

Snell (elbow) is tentatively scheduled to throw a bullpen session Friday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Snell is working his way back from late-July arthroscopic elbow surgery. He threw 10 fastballs in a brief throwing session Tuesday and isn't far from throwing a proper bullpen. He still has time to return in the final few weeks of the season, but even a minor setback would likely knock him out for the remainder of the regular season. Manager Kevin Cash told Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times earlier this week that he's planning to use Snell as a starter once he returns from the injured list, though the skipper acknowledged the southpaw would likely be in store for more abbreviated outings compared to the starts he made prior to requiring surgery.

Keller (7-14) gave up five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out one through 1.1 innings to take the loss against the Athletics on Monday.

After getting the first four batters out, Keller unravelled by allowing six consecutive baserunners and five runs. This was the shortest outing of the season for Keller, ending a streak of eight consecutive outings with six innings or more.The 24-year-old has a 4.19 ERA and 122 strikeouts through 28 starts this season. Keller is scheduled to make his next start Sunday against the Orioles at Kauffman Stadium.

Milone (3-8) took the loss as the primary pitcher against the Yankees on Monday, giving up five earned runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out one and walking two as the Mariners fell 5-4.

Following up opener Matt Wisler, Milone posted a dud stat line in this contest, as he gave up a home run to Gleyber Torres on the first pitch he threw and yielded two more long balls to Mike Ford before exiting the contest after five innings and 79 pitches. The 32-year-old has now given up 16 earned runs over his last four appearances, leaving him with an uninspiring 5.08 ERA and 1.20 WHIP in 18 games for the season.

Montgomery (shoulder) will make his next rehab start for Double-A Trenton, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Montgomery fared well in his last minor-league outing with High-A Tampa on Sunday, tossing two perfect innings. The Yankees have yet to disclose when he'll pitch next, though skipper Aaron Boone did state that he's optimistic about the southpaw's chances of returning from the injured list sometime in September, likely in a bullpen role.

Dunning (elbow) has started light throwing out to 45 feet, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Dunning, who underwent Tommy John elbow surgery in March, will continue light throwing for the next two months. The right-hander is hoping to be throwing bullpen sessions by the time spring training arrives in 2020.

Carrasco (illness) will make another rehab appearance with Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday, Zack Meisel of The Athletic reports.

Carrasco has made three rehab appearances with Columbus and Double-A Akron over the past week, allowing one run while racking up six strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Barring setbacks, it sounds like the right-hander is tracking towards joining the Indians' bullpen at the start of September.

Manager Brandon Hyde said Sunday that he's hopeful Means (personal) will be reinstated from the Family Medical Emergency List and slot back into the Baltimore rotation at some point during the club's series in Kansas City this weekend, Nathan Ruiz of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Hyde noted that the Orioles will give Means as much time as he needs to tend to the family matter, but the fact that the All-Star lefty is headed to his home state of Kansas will at least limit his potential burden from a travel standpoint if he wishes to rejoin the club later in the week. He'll be able to spend between three and seven days away from the team before the Orioles would have to activate him.
